I completed a Moving Quote Request on a Saturday, and they called me on Monday with some questions. Andrew was very friendly and professional. My move included moving furniture from White Marsh to Mount Washington, with a stop in Timonium to drop off and pick up more items. A three stop move with lots of stairs at each location was quoted at $750. This was reasonable since I had anticipated spending about $1,000. Their window for a Friday move date was between 10-12. They called when they were about 20 minutes away and met me promptly at 10 AM. Four guys in a huge truck arrived and got right to work. Within half an hour we were on our way to the second stop to drop off a bed and retrieve the rest of the furniture. Off we went to the third and final stop to unload everything. I was nervous about large items fitting up a narrow stairwell, but the guys assured me that if I had measured right, they would have it all fitting in the apartment in no time. That they did. When everything was unloaded, the driver went over the listed items and made sure everything on the list had been moved and put in the apartment. The price quoted was the price I paid, and they were done in exactly two hours. I tipped each guy in cash and felt a huge sense of relief when they drove away - knowing moving day was successful and complete. Great customer service and fast and efficient movers.

They kept me informed throughout the process and were extremely trustworthy and personable, especially when I had to run out of the house to handle something leaving them alone and when I ended up having more items than originally planned for the move. I am extremely happy with the results and will definitely be using and recommending them to friends and family in the future. Thank you Carlos and Jonathan for your help! Overall, my move was a little over $800 (took about 5 hours with 2 movers for a local move from a 3-story townhome to a 2-story condo ) and I gave a generous tip considering the amount of work they did. Services: Furniture disassembly and reassembly, small furniture moving, wrapping pictures, mirrors and frames, moving storage boxes.

I had one issue with the frankly crappy reassembly of my captain's bed. When the movers left, the bed was bowed, drawers would not close completely and the slats were falling out or not fitting in at all. I reported the problem to Serena and it was corrected promptly. A crew came and reassembled the bed to eliminate the problems. Finally, Serena is the best. She is responsive, knowledgeable, friendly and very easy to work with. I would recommend this business almost entirely as a result of the superior service she provided.

I worked with a different moving company 2 years ago that left me scarred for life with how rude and unprofessional they were. I ended up having to finish the job myself (moving my giant couch up four flights of stairs), so when I knew I was moving again, I did my due diligence and sought out a few quotes. Another company quoted me almost $800 and required a 3 hour minimum for the job!! $800 seemed steep and I knew the job wouldn't take that long... Along came Bookstore Movers who quoted me a reasonable $470 minimum for two hours of work and a maximum of $680 for 3.5 hours of work (price breakdown: $140 per hour with 2 hour min. plus a $190 truck fee). I received a quote within a few hours of requesting it. There was no deposit required and the date was booked. I received detailed emails leading up to the move about FAQs, tips for a seamless move, and the names of my crew including contact info for the crew lead. Abdul (crew lead), Niiwayo "Y.O", and Milly were SO fast and friendly. They wrapped every single item with care in drop cloths and got to moving immediately. Despite the 90 degree heat and a total of five flights of stairs, the job was finished in 2 hours. I was SO impressed. I was so traumatized by my last move that I literally had to walk away while they moved the couch in but before I knew it, I got a text from my boyfriend telling me they had fit it through the door and our living room was all set up. I was so relieved and happy to work with them. If and when we move again, (hopefully not anytime soon, lol), I will 100% be contacting Bookstore Movers... and you should too!

He called 6 people and worked 5 hours one day and 4 hours the next charging me way more than we spoke about. He didn't want to do the work so he brought on more people hoping to do it in less time and charged me. The first day his 2 guys too 4 hours to empty a uhaul storage unit. They broke boxes of dishes and didn't pack the truck right. When it came time to move the things out of my house they had to unpack the truck and repack it. He charged me for that time. The next day he took trash and a mattress to the dumpster which I never asked for and charged me for that. He rushed to do that by 5 abs didn't finish moving my things he was hired to move. They took beds and mirrors apart and didn't put them back together and loss the screws. He was supposed to to come back and finish putting things together and remove 2 tvs that he left in my old place. He was very disrespectful and told me to get someone else to do it and he wasn't coming cause I don't listen. This man is very unprofessional and I would not recommend him to do any job ever.

That was a big mistake. This time I went right to Doyle. You get what you pay for, my friends. Ryan, the owner, was very responsive and we made an appointment to do a video walk-through of our condo. We did the walk-through, he asked a lot of questions and then he promptly sent an estimate. We have a lot of things so it took five guys and two trucks. The crew leader contacted me the day before to confirm the details and they showed up promptly the day of. They were incredibly friendly, fun, and energetic the entire time. And very polite. They treated all of our things very well and didn't have a problem moving any of the weird odds and ends we couldn't find a way to pack. When we arrived they put everything in the new house where we wanted it and even though we could tell they were suffering from the extreme heat and the weight and amount of our things, they never lagged or complained. They put the beds back together quickly and correctly as well as the dining room table. I'd be in hospital if I had to move all my stuff. At the end, the crew leader went over the paperwork, explained all the final charges line-by-line, and took payment. Very professional. We could not be happier. They were a great crew of guys. Ryan has a great company and I couldn't recommend them more.

I strongly advise anyone considering Doyle Moving Services to review their contract carefully, as…read moreit contains highly predatory and legally questionable clauses for Maryland consumers. Most concerning is the inclusion of a "Confession of Judgment" clause. This aggressive legal tactic attempts to strip consumers of their right to due process in court, and it has been explicitly illegal in Maryland consumer contracts since 2020. Furthermore, their opening paragraph states they "in no event function... as an interstate or intrastate common carrier." This is a massive red flag, as it appears to be a deliberate loophole to dodge the state's mandatory cargo insurance and liability protections that legitimate movers are required to carry. Upon requesting that Doyle strike these clauses from their contract, they refused to do so, because they "do over 1,000 moves a year and send the same contract to every customer we service." Unfortunately, that contract contains illegal and predatory language.

It went very smooth up until they had our belongings on thier truck then told us the cost was nearly double what they quoted. How could a quote be that far off. We called the customer service agent BRANDON, who turned out to be a phycho who yelled and spoke over us with no remorse. On top of the additional costs, the delivery date took 10 days longer than they said it would. Lastly, if you decide to use them after all of this at least get the additional insurance because 1/4 of your things with be broken, lost or damaged. Do yourself a favor and find another mover. It can't get much worse than Destiny Van Lines.

I spoke with Brandon at the beginning of June and after going through my entire apartment he quoted me a really good price and so I put down the deposit on June 10th. I was promoted and the move to NJ was finalized for July 25th, but later changed to July 31. Originally I didn't have an actual address, but informed Brandon that it would be near Summit NJ. Let me add, that before I gave the deposit, Brandon contacted me literally 4 times in a matter of a few hours to book me because he apparently was eager to do business with me. However, after today's experience, that doesn't seem the case. Literally, I have at least 20-25 communications with him via phone and email and any time I had additional info, his response was "no worries Mr Coleman, we'll take care of it." Well today the movers show up and walk us through the "estimate" and stated that Brandon logged it as a "local" move, even though it was over 200 miles, and that the job would cost at least $600-1000 more than quoted. However, I have the original quote which states it's a long distance move, even though the quote that was brought to me said local. After several attempts to reach Brandon, Tony, the actual mover, finally spoke with him. Since Brandon had not responded, Tony gave me his cell number, so I called. Brandon answered very irately and stated, "Mr Coleman, you can take it or leave it. You can call my boss and speak to him about it. I'm not going to argue with you. It is what it is. I said, "This can't be the same Brandon I've spoke with all this time," and he told me to have Tony, the mover, call his supervisor, the name was Gavin or something of that sort. I asked him if he could call and he said no, so I asked him for the number and he gave it to me and hung up. Of course, the manager NEVER answered my call, returned my call, or obviously gave me a quote of any kind. After calculating the distance from the truck to my apartment, Tony the mover, told me to give him 5 minutes to call the manager and stepped outside to "call." About 5 minutes pass and I walk outside and they're gone; like completely gone, didn't call to tell me anything; no truck, no Tony or his other two workers. I call Tony back and he said he spoke with the sales manager and he told them not to do the job. When I asked him how much he quoted, he stated the manager didn't have a quote. When I asked him again, he said the manager quoted another $1000 and based on our conversation he made the decision that we weren't going to pay that and left without prior notice. Of course I call Brandon AGAIN and he rushes me off the phone, says my refund will take three days, and hung up on me: tried the sales manager again and to no avail. Literally stuck in an apartment right now with a packed house and no movers on the day I'm supposed to be out and the day I'm suppose to sign my lease... Irate is an understatement!!! I can't give a 0 out of 5 for this, but it's a 0 all the way around and will continue to express my discontent via social media until someone from their corporate facility calls me. Ryan

What a terrible experience…read more I should have had a sense about the day we would have, when the movers had trouble backing up the truck and the beginning of the day. While one of the movers saw our place and suggested it should take 4-5 hours (which is what it took to move everything in the first time.) We ended up spending time with our movers for 8 hours. They were incredibly slow moving everything out of our apartment, with one of the movers explaining that this was a new crew and they did not know how to load things into the truck properly. We asked them if we should wrap furniture with additional shrink wrap, but they said they would use towels. They did not do this for any of our furniture, which we only noticed on the other side. When they arrived at our home 1 mile away, they again had trouble moving the truck. They carelessly brought items into our house. Leaving scratches on most walls and a number of the ceiling. They also dented two steps and chipped many wall corners. We made a list of 6 scratched pieces of furniture. Worst of all, they broke our dining room table leaf making it impossible to use the table. At the end of the job they tried to charge us $1800 for 9 hours of work. While this was already an overcharge (it had not been 9 hours) we were very upset about all of the damage to our property and our walls and floors. We also felt that we should not be charged for their inability to load and drive the truck. Boris basically gaslit us, telling us that these things happen and that it was not as bad. He insisted we pay for all of the extra time. He also did not deduct the deposit from the initial invoice! We told him we would not have it and told him we would like him to come file a claim with insurance for all of the damage. He said he would discount our job $400 if we stopped contacting him. I guess some kind of bribe? We felt stuck wanting this terrible day to be over, but also needing someone to address the damage. We paid and tipped our movers, but now will need to pay significant more to buy a new table and calk and paint most of the walls in our house. Boris was unkind, unprofessional, and still has not agreed to come file an insurance claim for our damaged property. If he is insured, I do not see why this would be a problem. We sent him pictures and he still has not responded. In short Braun damaged our house, and our property, and overcharged us for at best their lack of experience, and at worst simply because they are dishonest. Boris should really be ashamed, and I hope he will come out before we need to file a lawsuit for some of these damages. Shame on this company. I sincerely hope they will change. In the meantime, take your business elsewhere.
