The pluses are that they are fast efficient and have a lot of availability. The minus is they are super expensive. I recently moved out and had a lot of junk and needed to be removed from my old residence as soon as possible. Unfortunately most of the junk haulers that I researched did not have any availability until a week later. I really needed to get everything out this Friday morning so on a Thursday afternoon I could only find one 800 got junk to fill this request. I was given a timeframe of 8 AM to 10 AM. Around 8 AM I received a call that the truck was on its way and would be there in 30 minutes. I was at work so it was convenient that I did not have to be on site when they got there. Once on site they called and gave me a quote of $508. The items I had or a queen size mattress, box spring, frame, 3 contractors bags of old blankets, 3 old pallets and some loose pieces of wood. Since I was pressed for time I went with the price especially since I could pay over the phone without being there and did not have to take a day off of work. In the future I would schedule my pick up for a better time where I can do a little more research and find a cheaper price. Recently had 1-800-Got-Junk come on over and grab our junk that consisted of a living room table, side table, sofa that was upstairs and a wide, heavy faux leather sofa downstairs. Justin and Louis made short work of the upstairs living room set. They even were able to get the leather sofa downstairs through our rather narrow basement door. They used every tool at their disposal to break apart that old sofa to get it into the trunk. They even managed to move a loveseat downstairs in the place where the sofa was. It was difficult getting it down there but they were persistent which my mom and I really appreciated. This was my 3rd time using 1-800-got-junk and everything went great as usual. read more

I have used this service on many occasions for my real estate company. We have agreed to no longer use their services for they are very inconsistent, overcharging and underdelivering. Their service is completely inconsistent on what they will haul and what they are willing to call a full load. It changes with the workers, the weather and their emotions. They advertise a great product but provide significantly less. You have to battle with the workers to take more on the truck, but for more money they will happy take more. That's not the way to treat a customer, especially one that has given them many opportunity to get it right and an agreed upon price of $600 per load. The truck pictured was about 35-40% empty but they defined it as full. Had they have taken the balance of the pile to be hauled, it would been less than full. Job was not completed successfully and they chose to loose a large paying customer. THis is not the first time we had this issue, it's about the fourth time in the past year or so. I called someone 3 days ahead of time and was able to get someone to come in and take my junk! I had 3 beds/frames/1 dresser and two chairs and they were all taken out within an hour. I tried so hard to find somewhere that I could donate my furniture to since it was so nice, but I kept getting turned away. Given I live in a condo and was only given 1 move out day to use the elevator, everything needed to be out at one time. I called Junk? out of desperation but it was the best decision that I ever made. The guys were nice, easy to work with and respectful of my house. Taking out the items one by one and filling them in their truck. Just for everyone complaining about their pricing. The pricing is based on the amount of space that is taken up in their truck. You might say 3 beds and one dresser and they give you a general estimate but it will be different if the beds are all king sized compared to all twin sized. We even looked at the guys paperwork to see the pricing structure when he walked out of the room...oops....but he was being 110% honest with what the paperwork said. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! I called 1-800-Got Junk to haul some things away from my Moms house after she passed away. I live in another city and was BOMBARDED by back to back calls and text messages (all while I was on a phone call with a client) saying "the longer we stay, the more you pay". I had know idea who the texts were even from and they were rude and aggressive in nature. I paid by text to get them to stop harassing me. After the job was done, we found out that they had TAKEN a BRAND NEW ALARM SYSTEM. When I called Mike and asked why they would take a brand new device, he said "you said everything must go so we took everything". They bombed me with calls and texts, but couldn't text me to ask if they should throw away a brand new burglar alarm? Mike "resolution" was to split the cost of the alarm system with us. Guess saving an extra $100 on his end was worth bad reviews. Mike is rude, they are all extremely unprofessional, unorganized and not trust worthy. I didn't have any friends available to help out (slackers), so I had to take matters in my own hands. After trying to find numerous junk removal companies online, I felt that there was no hope that I could have these items removed in time, along with a decent price. In comes 1-800-GOT-JUNK. I made an appointment online for them to come on a Friday morning. On the company's official website, they have a price estimator based on the amount of items you need to have removed. The amount of items is compared to the truck volume for the price estimate. So for example, if you have items that equal 1/8 of the overall volume of the truck used by 1-800-GOT-JUNK, you'll get charged based on that amount and NOT based on amount of hours. Once the appointment was setup, I was sent an e-mail to confirm the time and place of the removal. On the day of the removal, I received a call from the workers who were going to be there to pick my junk. They came on time (a little early actually) and were pretty easy-going fellows. It took them a grand total of FIVE minutes to remove both the washer and dryer (and there were only two workers). Easy as that, simple is 1-2-3. If you make your appointment online, they give you a $10 discount on the total price. They do accept credit cards and yes, they do give you a receipt. After doing the run around with every damn charity in town as well as the city and other various bodies, I reached the end of my tether. Our lease was up, we had to have everything out of our house by the next day, and I had 4 large pieces of furniture that I couldn't sell, give away, or get the city to collect before our move out inspection. Nearly in tears I called 1-800-GOT-JUNK willing to actually pay to have perfectly serviceable furniture hauled away. The guy I spoke to on the phone was helpful, intelligent, cheerful and probably saved my sanity for the day. He also told me how to mend a gouge in my floor. The lady who called to confirm was similarly helpful, intelligent, flexible and cheerful, and the guys who came to move my stuff were helpful, cheerful, respectful of my property, competent, courteous and quick. A couple of things they did that were extra helpful included: putting a note in my service call to move me up the list if an earlier appointment opened up, which it did. Calling 20 minutes before arriving to ensure that I'd be there and when I said I was 20 minutes away they said (cheerfully) that they could wait. They quoted me a price when they'd arrived and seen the stuff to be moved and assured me that if I didn't like the price I could say no, no hard feelings. There was absolutely no pressure. And they moved my stuff quickly, competently, and did not scratch the hardwood floors. The price came to less than I expected and they took cash, check or cards right on the truck. And they also assured me that they tried to give anything useable to shelters, charities or even friends and family and what can't be given away is recycled, when possible. The 1800 Got Junk is NOT what they advertise. I called the company because they say they can provide their service within 90 minutes up until midnight. NOT TRUE!!! I was given a date two weeks out. Then the day before the scheduled pickup I receive a call to find out what was being picked up. I tell them some of the items and they say that I don't have to be here when they come. They say they will send the estimate to you and remove the junk with my approval. They say the truck would be here between 4 and 6 pm. The day of the pick up I get a call that says they will be here by 6:30 or 7 pm. Two days later I am still waiting for them to come. They never showed up. They didn't call to cancel. Needless to say I will not be calling them back nor recommending the company to anyone. Don't use them thdo not do what they say!! I was contacted by the owner who apologized for the issue I had with 1.800 Got Junk.com. They promised to send a truck the next day and would deeply discount my pickup. This time they called and confirmed the appointment and actually showed up. The lead worker Jayvon was very nice and knew his business. After discussion with Manager at 1-800-GOT-JUNK I was promised two teams to complete large job in 1 day. On the day of appointment we left our new home to make 3 hour drive back to old home to meet GOT JUNK. 90 minutes in to our 3 hr drive, the "Local Manager, Zack" called to say they had only one team and they would load truck, take it to transfer station and unload and come back a second time if needed. Thus, doubling the amount of time to do the job and likely taking us into darkness and a dangerous ride home in a tropical storm. When I asked why the were not honoring the appointment/agreement that had been made well in advance, Zack said he had tried to call before. But I called him out - there was nothing in my call history - he had not called before and couldn't indicate a time or date when he supposedly called. He was lieing to weasel out of cheating me of services promised. I called central 1-800-GOT Junk and asked them if they could help me and assign a second truck/team from another office (since they make a big deal about same day service and they had dropped the ball - this didn't seem unreasonable) and they promised that as soon as their customer care center opened in Vancouver, they would be working on a solution and would call me right back. I was informed that I was speaking with sales in Toronto and customer care is on west coast and doesn't open until 12:00pm EST - 3 hours after east coast. Case had already been electronically assigned and would be addressed within 24 hours. Big help to me since I was selling the house and settling next day. While I was on the phone with 1-800 GOT JUNK, Zack called and left a message that he "didn't feel good about the job," so they weren't coming at all. Left us high and not so dry. Never did hear back from central office. I called back at around 3 and they transferred me around and then the call went to voice mail. No solution. GOT JUNK can't handle real jobs. Don't bother. They are not responsible, don't hesitate to tell you anything to get you off the phone, but things must be going real well, cause they can line up work and then not deliver on the spur of the moment. They had removed things that were literally part of that pile, I don't know how they got that confused.
