HORRIBLE! DON'T EVER GO HERE! RIPOFF!! CHEATERS!! My sister bought me and my wife prepaid private lessons as an anniversary gift. The first three lessons were great with our instructor RoseAngel. With RoseAngel we had planned the fourth lesson to be mini-choreography for a song we were bringing. When we arrived for our fourth prepaid private lesson, Samantha stopped us at the door. She said they were going to switch it up today with a couple's workshop so that we can dance with other partners. When we said we were not interested, she said we will be charged anyway since they cannot guarantee private lessons, and they can only guarantee the time of the lesson. The whole point of this experience was to spend quality time with my wife. Instead without any notice in advance we were forced into an ultimatum to dance with others or lose our payment. read more

Took advantage of the free 30-minute introductory class and had so much fun! It was a private session meaning you and your partner work one on one with the instructor. However there are other couples taking lessons at the same time on the dance floor. The staff were all very welcoming and made us feel comfortable for a new experience. Our instructor, Brianna, was so great that we were able to fit in 4 different dance styles within the 30 minutes. The only negative for me is the tuition prices as they are out of my limited budget but definitely worth every penny. I hope to be able to sign up in the future! read more

We signed up for 6 introductory private lessons. We had 3 sessions with Roseangel who is amazing. Today we went into for our session and Samantha told us there was a "scheduling snafu" and that our lesson would be a couples workshop with another couple. Samantha stated we would switch partners. We discussed that we did not want to do this and left. We signed up for private lessons not lessons with other couples. We had no advance notice for this and Samantha was rude. I took a complimentary course here. Absolutely horrible! The teachers breath stank so bad and they left me waiting for close to a half hour for a "free intro class" Afterwards they really push classes for purchase. They also lie about cheaper offers but you can find them on Groupon for a fraction of what they're charging at the studio. I will never go back ever! They can keep their extra class read more

These are real people teaching dance in such a natural way. I really am not a natural at dancing, but their knowledge of dance and how to teach is really good. While it may seem a little dark coming in from the bright Florida sun, this studio is very cozy and that staff are very welcoming. I love to stop by their Wednesday and Friday night parties to catch up with friends and dance till I (almost) drop. If you are a first time dancer there are plenty of classes to help you get comfortable with dancing. If you are an experienced dancer they have an equally full choice of classes to improve technique and get ready for competition or performances. As a side note for dancers - be sure to wear dance shoes and keep them clean, the floor is polished wood and can be fairly slick in some spots. read more

Do I have to give this any stars??? After purchasing a Groupon for 4 private lessons at the Winter Park location, I scheduled my first private lesson and was expecting to go and have a lot of fun. Although I did enjoy the one-on-one lesson, my enjoyment didn't last for as long as I had hoped it would. At the end of my private lesson, the manager/head of the Winter Park location sat me down and tried to sell me more classes, which would have cost me almost $1000. $1000 for ballroom dance classes?!?! Are you kidding me? I could go on a nice vacation for $1000. Not only were the classes extremely expensive, the manager or whoever he was was not friendly at all. I left the studio that day feeling irritated and disappointed. I never went back to take advantage of my other three "private lessons," nor did I want to. There are too many places to take dance classes, especially ballroom dance, in the Central Florida area and Arthur Murray isn't one of my top choices and won't ever be. I DO NOT recommend spending your money or wasting your time here. read more

My husband and I have been with the studio for almost 2 years now. We have been married for almost 15 years and because of the studio, we have actually danced together for the first time since we've been together. It is very much a family atmosphere in that they treat you like family. The students are the same way. I love that we have parties every Wednesday and Friday night too. Friday nights have become our date night - going to the studio just to dance and have fun. Every business tries to give great service, but Arthur Murray really does go above and beyond. Where else can you find instructors that are availible for you even outside of normal working hours, a strong attention to what you want dancing to do for you, and a system that if done right can garuantee your level of confidence? So being about as uncoordinated as a goofy white guy comes, I somehow was able to pull off my first dance with my new bride at our wedding thanks to the fantastic instructors here. My wife and I bought the groupon deal and that was enough to learn a few basic steps so that we could "dance". The instructors are so helpful, especially for the beginners and the staff is about as nice and welcoming as they come. We were never pressured with additional sales after our Groupon lessons were completed, merely presented with the best and most efficient options to continue developing our moves. We ended up buying two or three more lessons just to fine tune our first dance. It really made our wedding as we got so many compliments from our guests on our dance, and it really wasn't anything more than a few basic steps and turns. Stumbling upon the Arthur Murray Dance Studio has vastly exceeded my expectations. I was just looking for a cool place to get fit while learning a skill I have always wanted to learn, but I feel like I have received so much more. The entire program is in place to make sure you get a well rounded education and don't just repeat the favorite dance of one instructor over and over again. There is a clear and complete curriculum so you can track your progress and set your goals. All of the teachers keep it fun, challenging and exciting. I feel like I am supported and motivated by each and every member of the staff from the front desk ladies, my own instructors of course and even the instructors I am not yet working with. It really feels like a team effort and a place I want to spend my time and money. The payback is double. The instructors really pour their hearts into explaining everything in a way I can understand and remember and while I get the work out I was looking for, they are also conscious of making sure I am never overtaxed in a way that would prevent me from coming back. What a privilege to have such competent instructors right here in Lake Mary. It's only an hour drive for me and completely worth it!!!! read more
