Dancefx is a not-for-profit so they really rely on and commit to the community. Plus, they are SO AFFORDABLE! They've got a ton of classes and events coming up and they sell clothes there, as well so you can make your tutu and leotard dreams come true. If you've ever even thought about taking a dance lesson this is the place to go. All the instructors were amazing in showing us how to merengue! (Sp?) They teach all ages from 2.5 years and up, so there's no reason to be shy. They even have babysitting events so mom & dad can go out while the little ones get some energy out!

Some people are good at dancing, others (like my hubby) are not. Luckily, there's a place where…read moreboth types can have fun... Enter Dancefx. I'm not going to lie, I was pretty intimidated myself when we attended a Yelp Elite event at this place and our instructor, Emi, told us we would be learning how to do the merengue(I thought that was pie?). Ok, moving on... Emi was super friendly and didn't make any of us feel like we were too stiff to be there (thank God, I saw bullets streaming down hubby's face when we pulled into the parking lot). The event we attended was called Elites Get Coupled, which was appropriate given that it was almost Valentine's Day. Though my guy was totally nervous about this, I'm so glad we went! Emi, along with Lorien, taught us some merengue moves, and it turns out almost anyone can learn to dance. We felt pretty good about our abilities by the end of the event! Lorien brought in her all-girl hip-hop group (I think they're part of the Pin-Up Troupe?), and they were SO COOL... and talented, obviously. I could have watched these ladies perform all day!! Though they may have had me feeling like my new merengue moves were a little lame, at least now I know I have something to work towards... right? One of the best parts about Dancefx is the fact that they're a non-profit and donate to all kinds of local charities that support causes like fighting AIDS, helping the homeless and people with disabilities, and so on. I think it'd be such a thoughtful date idea to bring someone here and learn a couples dance! You get to know each other in a different way and can judge once and for all who's got better moves (I think we all know who won that dance off...wink wink). Plus, giving back to the community is icing on the cak--lemon meringue pie.

If I could give this studio a zero I would. In the midst of COVID my family supported this studio…read more They were persistent about signing my girls up for dance when they were uncertain about their ability to survive this difficult time. Once the owner realized that she could survive COVID, she was no longer interested in teaching my daughter who has special needs. I was first heart broken about her dismal of my daughter from the studio. However, after speaking to multiple dance teachers and parents, I have become angry. She said that my daughter could not keep up. She should not be expected to keep up. You should have worked to include her. This was a blatant act of discrimination that no child with special needs should have to experience. My daughter is actually very talented and brave. She has danced in several studios and they made a way. She could have had a solo or solo parts within a dance routine. You could have provided a space for her to excel but it was too inconvenient for you. It only became inconvenient when you were no longer afraid of going under. I feel used and abused! So buyer beware. I would stay away if you want your child to be seen as an individual who has value no matter their ability.

There are always laughs and clapping coming from the classrooms. The kids all get along with each other and are extremely friendly. When you walk in, it's a very positive and happy environment. The owner of the studio makes you feel at home and works to find classes best suited for your child. Overall amazing experience and I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for dance classes beginner-advanced.

I have known Danny and Georgina for many many years. I have also worked with both of them, and…read morewhile I no longer live in Atlanta I will say this- you will not find a better performing arts program in Metro Atlanta. You will not find two more dedicated and loving individuals, and you will not find heart and passion for the arts like you will find in these two people. This permeates to their staff and to the children that they serve. RISPA is a home for young people who strive to be the best, and long for an accepting and loving environment where they can grow and hone their skills. Their professional attitudes and their devotion to their students goes far beyond the dance floor. They are true arts advocates on every level. Unfortunately in life, we do not always get what we want. We are not all as talented as the person sitting next to us. This is life. Auditions are just that- an opportunity for an individual to show the talent and determination that they have to be the best that they can be. There will always be those whose abilities are stronger or better than someone else, and there will always be those individuals that work harder than anyone else but never quite make it to the top. These are facts of life. Danny and Georgina along with their staff have always encouraged every kid along the way to be the best that they can be, and they provide the necessary tools to do so. There are no guarantees in life especially in the theatre, just because you participate does not qualify you to win an award. The arts builds character, changes lives and develops a cultural appreciation in all of us. Danny and Georgina have dedicated their lives to enriching the lives of others. I would highly recommend RISPA!

Some were better thank others, for example, theater for the stage was good and the broadway type thing was good but 100% of the dance performances were AWFUL regardless of age or dancing style. not sure how after a year of practice they were still this terrible. Definitely did not reflect well on the school and it makes me wonder what parents are paying for. I always heard how great RISPA was but the recitals did not match the laurels. Yikes!
