I looked many dance studios in the Houston area and the surrounding areas trying to see where my daughter would be a good fit. I'm glad we chose Centerstage. My daughter has grown so much as a dancer in a very short time frame. I feel the instructors and director are super supportive of her journey. She has also been able to foster relationships with her new dance sisters seamlessly. The Centerstage family made us feel welcome from day one. I am confident after being with this studio for a year now that we made the right decision in choosing CSDG. Our experience has been nothing but positive and professional every step of the way!!

One of the girls made a very offensive racist post that went around to all the girls very fast. The DIRECTOR has push this situation to the side as if nothing ever happened which has left several people wondering if they should continue to support this studio. This is not the first time something like this has happened. Alot of parents feel like since majority of her students tend to be of hispanic ethics and the student that made the racist social media post is hispanic, that she tend to show favoritism. This is really sad and I hate it for the kids.

So I will do my best to keep it to 10 paragraphs . Tim and Hector are my instructors, and they have been nothing less than pro perfection! Tailoring my lessons to match the goals I want to achieve in dance while keeping it fun at the same time. They don't just teach you steps; they take the time to educate you on the "why" and "how," ensuring you have a strong foundation to help you be your very best at whatever goal you're reaching for. Then there's the rest of the Fred Astaire Cypress team: Elena, the studio manager; Ellie, Magui, Edina, and Barnabas, who are equally as amazing as their counterparts. All of them bring an unbelievable amount of skill and quality of dancing to every student. I guess that's why they are the pros! With that said, it can be so easy to lose that quality, momentum, or high energy with the amount of students they work with one-on-one, the group classes, the long hours to ensure every student receives the same level of time and training, plus their own training they do after hours. The dedication is unmatched. Every single one of them, including Hector and Tim, not once have I seen anyone lose that momentum and energy in the four months I've been coming. You will always walk in to smiling faces, and the instructors are ready, pumped, engaged, and excited to be teaching you. I encourage anyone interested in ballroom to take lessons with this studio. You would be lucky to have any one of these people in your dance journey corner. P.S. All of them have such a good sense of humor, but Ellie, well if you want an especially good laugh she is unmatched. Sorry Tim and Hector

I try to arrive a little early so I have time to change into my shoes and maybe chit chat a little with other students, and I love having time to sit and watch the instructors with their other students. They are all positive and encouraging, and bring an enthusiasm to their "work" (art) that I don't see from my co-workers in an office setting. It's so refreshing! Most of my lessons and classes have been with Hector, Magui, Tim & Eli, and they are all fantastic to work with. Their passion is infectious! Seriously...I signed up for my first lesson at the end of January, and 2 months later I rarely miss a single class they offer. My second week, I went to a master class because I thought even if it was beyond my present abilities I would learn something, and I did! They make it so accessible and really want you to succeed whether your goal is to just dance competently out with friends, choreograph an epic first dance for your wedding, or break into the world of competition like some of my fellow students have. But going beyond the studio itself, dancing has helped me reconnect with my own body. I suffered a major injury years ago that involved a long, tedious recovery. As I started dancing this year, I realized how little confidence I had in my own physical abilities. I realized I always walked and moved rather rigidly on eggshells. It has been so empowering to see I can dance...rather gracefully for a newbie, too.

The Palladium is located on a one-way freeway frontage road, so you can't make a U-turn to get there if you pass it up. But it's not one to avoid. The Palladium is not a franchise of a nationwide company named after Arthur Murray or Fred Astaire. It's a local concern, and doesn't offer as much as the other two studios I listed. I've gone to their Latin events, and here's what it looks like: They have in-house instructors, and also bring in people from outside Houston. (I wrote about California's Kathy Reyes in two prior reviews, I hope she's reading this and makes the trip to Houston some time!) They have classes, and they have dance parties. Both are run well, charging market rates. Lots of parking. One medium-sized dance floor, two smaller studios. The bar sells drinks, both alky and non-alky. Restrooms are deep in the bowels of the building, down the hall to the left. The people who come are a good company, and are fixinta learn to dance better and to have fun. The social dance community of Houston is smaller than in other cities, so there's much overlap from one instructor to another, and it's likely that you'll meet someone there who you danced with somewhere else. I haven't met any snobs yet, but you can't assume that they won't be there. I first went to the Palladium for New Years Eve. I've been several times since then. The experience was similar to others I've been to in other cities. I've had a good time, and never drove home thinking "well, that was a waste of a hundred mile drive one-way." Beaumont simply has nothing like The Palladium, likely because few people in the Coonie Triangle are interested in ballroom or Latin dancing. I encourage you to find a class or party and stop on by.

She loved her instructors and dance classes so much that we decided to continue her dance lessons. The studio is clean and comfortable and the dance studios are large and tastefully decorated...there is just an extremely good vibe at this dance studio. The instructors are incredibly kind and skilled and so warm to all of the students and their families. In watching the instructors and students in class, we have observed wonderful songs, adorable routines, positive attitudes and encouragement, and the dance instruction involves a variety of teaching methods and activities that truly make the dance classes fun and interesting. Our daughter cannot wait for her next dance class to start after one ends...she is thrilled to tell everyone all about her wonderful dance studio and how happy she is to be in dance classes here.
