Jim…read moreDoermann did an amazing job for me and obtained a result that was so much better than I had even hoped for. I am truly grateful that when I was looking online at attorneys in the area to represent me, Jim's website and his qualifications resonated with me more than the others. When you get a ticket that requires a court appearance, you get tons of solicitations from law firms seeking your business. There are some that will even take your case for a promised $99. I think that's a false economy. The retainer I paid, which was quite reasonable, paid for Jim's time, experience, knowledge, and everything you expect it to. But it also paid for his years of building trustworthy relationships with the other people involved in the process, like district attorneys and judges. Jim Doermann's firm is not one of the cut-rate ones, but it's a fairly priced firm and they certainly did a great job for me. It was money very well spent.

I recently contacted Smith Giles, PLLC by phone for legal representation for a traffic ticket in…read moreAlamance county. I called during midday and was informed Michelle (the person handling traffic tickets) was not available but, would return my call. Michelle returned my call within the hour answered all my questions and addressed my concerns very professionally. She clearly articulated what Smith Giles would seek in representing me in court and provided the list of information and documentation required along with the cost for legal services, which was very reasonable. Michelle explained the process in court and within Smith Giles office, the options to pursue, the schedule of events and documented our conversation via email. I returned the requested information and agreed cost for services which Michelle confirmed receipt in writing for representation. I received a follow up email before the end of the business day on the same day as my afternoon scheduled court date. Michelle informed me of the optimal result, which was desired but never promised. She informed me the matter was closed and required no further action on my part, thanked me for allowing Smith Giles to represent me and to contact them again should I need any other legal services. Everyone that has experienced a traffic ticket knows the anxiety it can create. This process has taken twice as long as normal due to the events of 2020 and government closures. The prolonged period of time to resolve this issue simply increased the amount of stress. Smith Giles and specifically Michelle, helped reduce that stress by professionally and clearly managing necessary information, desired objectives, timely follow up communication and ultimately legal representation in court to obtain the most favorable judgement. I highly recommend Smith Giles, PLLC! Wayne S.

I was promised that my 50B had no merit, my pending parental coordinator case would be dismissed because there were no LEGAL grounds to support this. None of my cases even came close to the elements of any law. He never kept me informed of my court dates, never tried to resolve any issues outside of court. I had to keep track of all that. I never even had a pre hearing meeting with him. At court, he told me that he didn't know the outcome would be. And on top of that, He said that the request for parental coordinator may go through too. I walked into the court, sat down and it all began..A nightmare. I still remember how she stayed until 10:00 at night the second night I visited her in an attempt to get my paperwork filed in time. I had my son (who was just 4 at the time). She was patient, bought him pizza, and made sure he was comfortable while we worked. Her staff has always been warm, welcoming, and responsive when I have questions. I was never in the dark about my case. Mercedes's Office made my entire Chapter 13 process a breeze and put me in a position to be successful with the case. My experience with this law office was disappointing from start to finish…read more My original consultation appointment was missed, and no one contacted me to explain what happened or to reschedule. I only received a response after I posted a Yelp review. We then agreed to reschedule for the week of July 6-10, but the paralegal instead scheduled me for July 1, which was not what we had discussed. At that point, I canceled because the scheduling process felt disorganized. After I canceled, Attorney Huggins called me personally. Rather than apologizing for the repeated scheduling issues, the conversation focused almost entirely on my Yelp review. During the call, he repeatedly mentioned that my consultation had been free and that he normally charges $375, as if I should be grateful despite the mistakes made by his office. I also felt that I was talked over throughout the conversation and that my concerns were never genuinely acknowledged. What upset me the most was that he framed the situation as me, a Black man, trying to tear down another Black man. I found that comment inappropriate and completely unrelated to the actual issue, which was the way my appointment had been handled. My concern had nothing to do with race. It was about professionalism, communication, and accountability. A sincere apology for the scheduling mistakes would have gone a long way. Instead, I felt as though I was being blamed for leaving an honest review about my experience. I was also left with the impression that my business was not valued because I was not yet a client. This entire experience reinforced why I wrote the original review. In my opinion, the office was disorganized, communication was poor, and when legitimate concerns were raised, they were met with defensiveness rather than accountability. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this law office. - Update of message where this Attorney accused me of being envious and targeting him. This is what will happen if you express your experience. This is the craziest thing that has ever happened to me. I never had any lawyer speak like this especially in writing.
