I live in Utah but while working in Greensboro I was hit by a Tahoe. (At a very busy intersection,…read moreI had the walk light, a witness who confirmed the walk light with a police officer and the statement of the driver who told the police officer he was looking at oncoming traffic and didn't see me). My face hit the asphalt first and a couple ribs were broken. There were many Emergency Room bills and follow-up bills. Seemed like a slam-dunk. I thought I could handle the situation myself. I first called my insurance company - USAA. They were courteous as they explained that they would be happy to converse with me but that the insurance company of the driver was the one I - not them - would need to work with. I called an attorney friend who said, "As straightforward as it might seem, often these things take longer than you might expect and involve lots of back and forth. I'd strongly consider an attorney." That made sense. My spouse had a professional acquaintance in Greensboro who recommended Ward Black Law. I contacted them and had an excellent conversation with Attorney Gabriel. Along the way I had exchanges with Gabriel, Lexie, Regina and a few others. I was treated exceptionally well. I always felt informed and kept up-to-date. And, my friend was correct; the process involved way more than I could ever have handled. I would have been over-run by the driver's insurance representatives. I am most thankful that the responsibility for this difficult situation and all the administrivia was so excellently handled by Gabriel and the other associates at Ward Black. They took a huge weight off of me and produced an excellent result. I highly recommend Ward Black Law.

Jae S., I, too had a bad experience with Ward Black Law. Mine was for a divorce. I was charged…read more$300 to make an appointment to speak with an attorney (most bill you on the day of the consultation). So I pay, speak with an attorney who writes the date on a piece of paper, then advises me that it will be another $495. Understandable. The initial $300 would go towards the total cost of the divorce. I WAS advised that there may be additional fees for serving my ex because of the different methods that may be required. I was fine with that. So the lawyer said that when I was ready to move forward with the divorce, give the paralegal, whose card was included in the packet a call; this person would handle everything. About a week later, I called Ward Black Law. The person who answered the phone was VERY courteous and professional. I was transferred to the paralegal, who didn't even know the attorney had my case, and who, also, was very RUDE. So, I tried calling the attorney and got no answer. So I figure, 'well... probably in court.' The paralegal calls my phone (I recognized the number after dialing it so many times), and when I answer, there is no response. I mean, I say 'hello' several times, and though the person is still on the line, the person doesn't answer. I, then, reached out to the person who called me that Tuesday to see if that person could help. NOPE! All I got was a 'paralegal tried contacting you several times (one breathing, no-response phone call amounts to several times); please contact the paralegal, as this is the person who handles these things. Thanks!' Never got my divorce through Ward Black Law, but on the plus side, even though I was out $300 for a lackluster consultation, I DID find a better attorney.

This third party company has been horrific and negligent in my care since it all started. I phoned James Scott Farrin after researching worker's compensation attorneys in my area, and they have made all the difference since. The paralegal (Ciara Lambrecht) and attorney (Matt Healey) on my case have been utterly amazing to say the very least. They are extremely professional in what they do, but they also exhibit care in what you are having to endure. My injury has been excruciating and debilitating, but they have went above and beyond at every turn to help me. Workers' compensation companies are very difficult to work with, but Matt has not waivered in fighting for my medical care and rights. He has made sure they set appointments up for me; he has ensured that I was able to get into occupational therapy close to my home; he has ensured that I received workers' compensation payments so I could pay my bills while being out of work; and he is even going as far as helping me not lose my career when the third party company is trying to sabotage it. To be frank, I could write a novel on how incredible Ciara and Matt have both been throughout this entire debacle. These are the people you want to call if you have an accident at work. They truly care and will fight for your rights across the board. I am not the type of person that usually contacts attorneys when events occur. I expect my employer to have integrity and do what is right by me if an event does occur. Unfortunately, that is not always the case. In my situation, the third party company handling my employer's workers' compensation did not care how bad I was injured. They just wanted me gone, because I wasn't a person to them; I was an expense they were getting ready to pay. I would truly hate to see what would have happened if I did not have Ciara and Matt involved in this case. I can't reiterate enough how they have made all the difference.

Before I started to receive all the attorney advertisements, I decided to call Jon. I knew Jon from his time on the bench (personally, not in front of him) and during his unsuccessful reelection bid. While we don't always agree politically, I found in Jon a caring, compassionate, and dedicated justice who looked out for the individuals in his courtrooms and someone who treated others with respect; he also had the respect of his fellow judges and attorneys who appeared before him and served alongside him. I wasn't sure if he would handle a traffic case but he did. I sent over my paperwork. I sent a few notes and spent some time on a call. When the time came to defend my ticket, Jon guided me and gave honest advice and feedback; I did not need to appear in court as he was able to represent me without my being present. His fees were very reasonable and less than others I had spoken with prior to reaching out to him. He also understood that I wanted to adjudicate this matter expeditiously and moved the hearing forward, getting a continuance granted by the courts. When the time came, he defended me well and cleared the matter in a fair and just way. I am thankful for his professional response and personal caring as well as his clear understanding of the courts - he helped me navigate my way and I am appreciative. I highly recommend Jon for any matters from family to traffic law. My hope is to only see him casually, and not professionally again. However, I do know who to call if I ever find myself in such a position again.
