We did not use the common pool area but did soak in three of the different private spaces over four visits. Each was very nice. There are two different styles of private pools here, the classics which run hotter and are a little shallower than the newer pools which they call their deluxe pools. The deluxe pools are to the left and classics to the right. The entire area is a whisper zone, so quiet and tranquil is the feel and vibe here. A guide meets you at the gazebo outside the gated area a few minutes before your session starts to check you in, let you in and point you in the right direction. All private soaking areas are named and numbered on their door front. The soaking areas are very clean, private and nicely appointed with a pair of loungers, a table of some sorts, overhead cool misters, a cold water bucket shower overhead on each pool, towel and clothes hooks and a wall clock to keep you on time, and intercom with the office. Went both during the day and the end at sunset, each offers its own experience. It seems to be quieter during the early hours, than the evening. Sessions are 50 minutes and they are prompt to get you in on time so you can enjoy your full time soaking. About five minutes before your session ends they notify you over the intercom that your time is ending so you do not run over time and allow them time to prep the space for the next people soaking. Definitely worth your time. 4.5 Stars - rounded up for the kind staff and unique spot on the river. 01322

I had made the reservations about 3 weeks before. As with the last time I booked, I was very surprised that it wastn closer to sold out already. We have been to a few different hot springs some have been pretty cool, literally. The last one was outside Fairbanks Alaska in the winter. But one thing that is common at these spots is that they are communal pools. There tends to be a creeper now and then. But Riverbend has private pools, facing the Rio Grande. So this time I made note of the temps of each individual pool on the website, and got us the hottest one. It was perfect. It really does have pools that drop off right into the Rio. It was close to dusk and the river was flowing past the long shadows in front of us. The hour of relaxation flew by. It is the best we have been to. I am sorta happy that they arent so known as to be overbooked. Because we will be back again next time we are in the area.

We stayed for one blissful evening which felt at least one night too short. The property is rustic lodgy chic with a an earthy but posh vibe. Yeah, that feels a bit contradictory but it's truly not. The staff... warm, welcoming and gold standard. And that's 24 karat, not 14. Matthew has such a lovely smile, you feel immediately at home. From checkin to checkout everyone we encountered was aces. The room... very comfortable, loved the wooden furniture and the bed was heavenly. The 30 minute mineral soak (included) ... wow. Within minutes it provided a soothing calm and a hard reboot on stress levels so do NOT skip it! Breakfast the next morning is stated as continental but it felt far from that with the breakfast burrito bar, fresh baked goods, fruit, oats along with a menu of available unique espresso drinks. Stephen/Khrys took great care of us and the rest of the breakfast crowd. Sierra Grande is right off the main little downtown drag that has lots of little galleries and shops... and a nice local brewery. If you ever find yourself in or around this area THIS is the spot to treat yourself to a stay.

I'm sorry to have to do this, but this was a very bad experience for me and my wife…read more I don't care if a place is old and even run down a little but I do care that it's clean and free of bugs. This place was not. I want to emphatically state that I did NOT find any evidence of bed bugs. It was the other bugs. Ants, some sort of flies, and the largest beetle that I've ever seen inside a building. I gave this place two stars as we were exhausted and was still able to sleep without getting bit.

This by far was the worst place for us. Room 106 had no water for tub & shower, no new toilet paper…read moreroll, toilet moved around as if not bolted to the wall when seated, microwave did not work and got soaking wet when I tried the sink faucet as there was no screen for the flow of water. In the morning, I asked the front desk clerk if we could get a refund & was told she would have to ask her boss. I was also told the maintenance person was "MIA" and apologized for the massive spray of water I received from the sink. I felt bad the night clerk lady wiped the floor & wall from that water spray and kept apologizing. I know this is obviously an older building but rooms should be kept better than this one. As it is, now that carpets are gone & laminated floors are in, they are never cleaned or mopped and terribly filthy!! That's why I bring my own cleaning supplies especially spray Lysol‼ Motel 6's are continually getting worse & worse, sad to say.
