My instructor is very easy to understand, and I believe that I've really improved on my near non-existent guitar skills. Instead of just strumming aimlessly like I used to, I know how to play a few songs, chords, and have even started to write my own songs! Thanks Just Rock

I have been freinds of the Ottley, since relocating to the DMV from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma…read more The Ottley's are wonderful people with a huge heart to give back to their communities and what better way to give back then through the arts. Music, in particular by way of giving inspires and moves people unlike anything else in the world and the Ottley's recognize this and this is why they exist today. I've had first hand of meeting them in person, they are always pleasant and with smiles for their love of people. I've visited their school and their staff, they are all friendly, and professional. I've also attended a couple of their student recitals. The Ottley school is clearly dedicated to aiding these talented students with techniques to carry them far in the music industry and of their dreams because it shows through their presentations. If you get a chance, visit their school, and or attend a recital. The Ottley Music School will leave a lasting impression and you will not be disappointed.

My 6yo is a highly sensitive person so her relationship with sound is a powerful and person one. She has always been deeply keyed to any sound including the squeak of a swing. She notices the background sounds or music in movies or video games. Ms. Ottley's school of music has helped her learn a whole new language of staccato and legato and rests and reading notes and chords. It has helped my daughter express how she experiences the world. Vee competed in a beauty pageant and used her piano skills to win the talent portion. She wore her 1st ever formal clothes during the the recitals. She has participated in 4 annual Music Guild events. It's just stunning how much The Ottley School of Music has helped Vee. She has branched out and tried violin, drums, guitar, German recorder flute. She spends a lot of time on her iPad and on the TV looking at music or trying to follow musical tutorials online. She occasionally tries to sing, but feels a bit shy with vocals. Great Experience.

Justin and Jasmine made sure we stayed hydrated, and regularly brought us into the air conditioning to avoid overheating. They ensured our safety every moment we were there. The rope course was insanely fun, the giant swing and zip line were a blast and our favorite part was honestly the rock climbing! Justin and Jasmine were fantastic - we will definitely come back (preferably not during a heat wave haha) and hope they will be our guides again - every single person today made it memorable for my family! Thank you so much!!!

On this most recent trip to the MD Burbs for a Yelp event, I was delighted to find Three Little Birds just a few miles from my hotel. So I stopped in during my lunch break on a mission to find just the right fabric for a wedding quilt I'm sewing for a dear family member. This shop is really, really cute! They carry mostly modern fabrics, plus a ton of knitting/crocheting supplies. In the back is a classroom area, and they have lots of project samples, notions, and one of the best selection of sewing books I've seen. The best news is: I found the perfect fabric for the wedding quilt! And I had just enough space in my suitcase to get it home and start cutting. Highly recommend this little shop if you're in the area and on a hunt for some new fabric!

As someone who has been throwing pots for a few years, I'm definitely eyeing the the Studio Artists which is designed for independent ceramicists. The studio space itself is pretty large and Kendra keeps a large supply of clay, tools, and other items you'll need for throwing pots or hand building. Even more importantly, pots get fired pretty quickly so you're not waiting weeks to finally get to your batch of pots that need to be glazed, etc. Kendra also works with you on honing in on any techniques if you've got the basics down, or helping you master the foundational skills. Given the pottery studios in the DMV are always full and have waitlists, it was very exciting to see this new studio open up and actually get a spot without wondering if I'll ever get a chance to take a class!
