My only disappointment was how the timing was handled. Our contracted time was 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., yet our cake was not served until 1:27 p.m. I have a time-stamped photo from when it was presented. There was obviously no reasonable way for 15 guests to enjoy cake and wrap up the party in three minutes. I did sign a contract that included additional charges for going beyond our scheduled time, although those charges were never specifically pointed out to me. I understand that I signed the contract. My concern is that no one mentioned we were approaching our end time. Had someone let me know, I would have asked that the food and cake service be moved along. I was surprised when additional time was added to my bill. They did reduce the charge to 30 minutes instead of the full hour, which I appreciated. However, I still feel the venue should have done a better job managing the timing of the service and communicating with me before additional charges began. It's unfortunate because everything else about my celebration was excellent. I would still recommend The Herb Box for a private event. The room, food, and service made my special birthday very memorable. My advice to anyone booking a private event is to keep a close eye on your contracted end time and communicate with the staff about the timing of the meal and dessert.
