Nice people, clean shop and did quality work. Sometimes salons like this feel rushed, but not here. I will go again.

It's just ok. Went in for a dip manicure and gel pedicure. I made an appointment and was seated right away. I was there for 3 hours! My gel pedicure usually last over a month, after about 2 weeks it was chipping. My dip manicure last 4 weeks, after one week I had cracks and chips. Staff was very nice and salon was clean. read more

they told me 30 I waited an hour got my nails soaked off and then the lady asked me if I was new I said yes she proceeded to get out her calculator and tell me that it would be over $100 for nails that were pretty basic. I've never paid over $60 for Nails and I've been getting my nails done for years. Total scammers. They laughed at me, made me embarrassed, and it was a horrible experience. I walked out with no nails.. not falling for that scam!! read more

Amazing designs hand drawn and long lasting. Trish and Cookie listen to what you want and creatively come up with ideas if you don't know what you want. The salon is open to walk ins and you can also make appointments. read more

I am always pleased with the service I receive. Everyone is friendly and upbeat...They are FUN people and work very hard to please. I am a customer for life. I usually make appointment ahead but they have been able to make room for me when I casually walk in. I especially am pleased with the way they massage. They are trained professionals and when they massage my hands & feet, they open up all my chakras! I feel great for at least a month. read more

Did not have a good experience here. It took 2 hours to finish a set of dip nails. She redid my pinky nail 3 times, burnt my nail using the dremel tool too much in one spot, and cut my skin. The nails came out flared and not at all what I asked for. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The pictures are after I had filed them down on my own. They charged me $75 for this! read more

1) My daughter and I had spa pedicures ($35 each). When we went to pay, it was $45 because they shellacked our toenails (which we didn't ask for or want). I told her that but that didn't make any difference. So she got half of the tip that she would have received. 2) The credit card machine was not working so I had to use their ATM machine. Luckily, they refunded me the $1 charge for using the ATM. 3) I also feel that it is pretty rude to speak in another language to their coworker when doing a service for a customer, which they did during the whole pedicure. 4) The route to the bathroom looks very cluttered and filthy. 5) Not a place I want to go back to. read more

I go here every 2-3 weeks. They do get behind even if you make an appointment. They try to accommodate walk ins as much possible. I would call ahead to make an appointment but plan for extra time incase they are behind. I see Trish, Cookie and Sina read more

My friend and I made an appointment for 10:30 AM they did not put us in the chairs until 11 and my friends didn't get started for another 15 minutes. There was hardly any massage and my color peeled off when I got home. They also made me buy some weird box with a nail file and buff box in it for five bucks. Will not be back. read more

I have been a customer here for years, and unfortunately it has gone downhill. The treatment of my 7 year old daughter was my last straw, having her taken by the foreman away from me without permission by Jessica and being rushed around, no amount of kindness was expressed to the point of my daughter shutting down and us deciding against getting our nails done, and walking out. read more

Sub par mani/pedi. The technician cut my cuticle and it was bleeding a lot. Some of the blood got into the polish and now I have one nail with blood mixed into my French manicure. My pointer finger is only partially covered with polish. You also have a purchase a "supply box" to have any service. I have never heard of anything like this before. I received a gift certificate for here, but I will never go back and suggest nobody else go. read more

Amy was my nail tech and she was very kind and accommodating! my nails look great and for only $40! read more

The fee for a a pedicure box is a rip off!! A week after my pedicure The soles of my feet started to peel and my heels began to crack. Typically after a pedicure your feet are smooth! Fast forward a month and my feet are still peeling horribly on both toes and heels. Maybe the 7 dollar fee could go towards tub liners so customers don't get a foot fungus from the tubs! read more

I asked for an acrylic overlay. What I received was my chopped nails and thick, lumpy acrylic fusing my skin to the nail tips. They attempted to fix tried to tell me that this is how acrylic looks and charged my full price even though I left without even any polish. Won't go back. Lots of bad reviews on here, so I don't think they are interested in retaining customers long-term. Quick money is all they want and certainly no pride in doing a good job. read more

Terrible job , she was rush doing my full set ., then the nails looks like I already been with them for like two weeks , they charge me a lot money for a job than doesn't worth it read more

I get my nails done here frequently and have for years! I absolutely love it. Cookie, Trish, Senna, and Callie are some of my favorite ladies. All pictures are of dip manicures. I can go three weeks between appointments with no issue. They accommodate walk-ins easily and are super kind. I tend to book appointments the day of and am able to get in without a problem. read more

I went to Art's at the suggestion of a friend. I will not go again. The woman was rude and rushed through the manicure and pedicure. The polish does not match the color shown. There are specks and bubbles throughout the polish. I am nor normally one to complain but I think others should be aware. read more

Very proffesional my nails look great good quality vibe is awesome service request came in great

I came here to get a full set with the design of marble and I didn't get what I asked for. I had to come back within 2 hours because I really didn't like them and asked them to remove it. The woman doing my nails didn't know what she was doing so another worker helped her out and they both kept trying over and over but I still didn't like them. Fast forward, I don't get a refund and they didn't explain that they don't do refunds. I tell them that I don't want anyone to do my nails and I'd rather have a different service so they agreed. 1 1/2 week later I come back, I made an pedicure appointment and I have to wait 45 minutes to get seated & there massage chairs aren't working so I can't fully enjoy my appointment. read more

They let you make an appointment thinking you can get right in but then still accept walk ins before you so you're still waiting an hour. They also charge you $7 for a personal nail box containing items that are supposed to be single use like a buffer and nail file. How they got to $7 for all these items I don't know, but you have to remember to bring it every time you come in. Scammers. read more

Went in for a shellac manicure. The place is very nice, and my nails look good! But one of my fingers was bleeding due to being cut when they were trying to cut off the dead skin around my nails, and now the skin around some of my other nails is peeling. Everyone was very nice and my manicurist was very friendly, but the actual mani could've been better. read more

So disappointing when you make an appointment days ahead of time and then you're still sitting there waiting a half hour after the time you made an appointment!!! This has happened more then once and I am really disappointed. Likely will be choosing a different salon moving forward. read more

Will never go back..rude..overpriced..crappy nails..they rush you thru and act as though they are highly unimpressed you are there..can barely explain w them what you're looking for because they really don't want to hear it..120 for a set of nails and a pedicure..and the worst service out there..f this place..my nails are "lumpy" and uneven and rough..that's not what I was planning on paying for..shut this place down..scams read more

So disappointed. Says they are open until 6- walk in at 5:20 asking for a gel manicure and they said no, that it was too late. Won't go back- too bad too because I was planning on going every 2 weeks when my daughter has a meeting and I have an hour to kill in Gorham. read more

I have visited several times over the past five years and always felt this place was adequate. It's your standard strip mall Vietnamese nail salon. The prices in Maine are higher than NY and Boston. I went in two weeks ago for a manicure and got hit with the classic upsell for a shellac manicure. I asked if it would damage my nails. Was told "No, it makes them stronger!" Like a fool, I agreed. They neglected to say that shellac needs to be removed at the salon! Three days later, my shellac manicure that was supposed to last 10-14 days, was peeling. I went back. I showed them the peeling shellac. I had a do-over. I was charged full price. It peeled two days later! I did a little research and discovered there could be any number of reasons the shellac didn't last. By the way, with tip, I shelled out $30 per manicure. That's $60 in two weeks. *Poof* gone. What's that saying? "Fool me once, shame on you..." The ladies at Arts Nails fooled me twice. Shame on me, dammit! Either they are using knock-off shellac polish (not CND), their lamps are faulty, and/or the nail techs are applying improperly. For example, getting polish on the skin at the edges of the nail which causes peeling. Research CND certified professionals and do it right. For the same amount of money. Nine Stones, Lucindas Day Spa, and even Cosmotech are properly trained and certified in the application of shellac polish, so your hard-earned cash isn't going to waste. read more

I have visited this salon on multiple occasions and have never had the result i was looking for. I have had my nails done 2 times, one time was a fill and they ruined my nail shape and the other time was for the first day of classes, i asked for stiletto and received oval shaped nails that fell off within less than a week. I went one last time to get a pedicure and my toes looked like they had been painted by a toddler. There was paint in my cuticles and the nail polish was smudged after trying to let it dry for over an hour. The workers are kind, but their work leaves a lot to be desired. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I went with my friend to get prom and graduation nails. We showed pictures and asked for the exact length in the picture. Mine were cut way to short and I even said I like longer nails. My friends nails a curved. The design was got is not even and very wavy when I was supposed to be a sharp cut line. We were charged an extra 5 dollars for a box with 2 tools in it. I've been some to some Janky ass nail places this is the worst one I've ever been some janky ass nail places and this is by far the worst would not recommend to go. read more

Booked an appointment for 2 manis. We waited roughly 2 hours and my daughter only got hers painted because she got tired of waiting. Instead of taking each girl separately they had one person doing both of them while the other people took care of walk ins. I will be going elsewhere next time. read more

My girlfriend of nearly a month recently made business affairs with this establishment and let me tell you she has not been happy ever since. First off, one of her nails smashed to pieces the day after she had them done. She took them back and got a new one free of charge. All dandy. Flash forward to about 5 days after the first occurrence, and she has two brand spanking new broken nails!!!!! Blasphemy! Will not ever return to this establishment, negative stars. read more

I went for a pedicure for the very first time with my coworkers. I've never been to a salon before, and when I was asked what I was going to be having, they insisted that I get both a mani pedi. After saying no a couple of times the front desk staff seemed very visibly annoyed. I went to get my feet done and the beautician was also annoyed I didn't know what I was doing. People speaking in another language does not bother me (and I am bilingual and multicultural) but I had a feeling I was being talked about in a not so positive manner. Overall the experience made me uncomfortable and I would not returning. My feet were done beautifully however so they do know what they're doing, I just wish I felt I was more welcome than the rest of the people there. read more

I went to another salon that had good ratings but I ended up with messed up nail shapes and a gel manicure that lasted 12 hours, so I took a chance on Art Nails. So impressed. I walked in on a week day and got right in, but my tech took her time and was very nice. I can tell they get busy, but it's clearly because of their high quality services. My manicure still looks perfect a week later, I'll definitely be coming back. read more

This is still my favorite place to come for a mani-pedi and the only place who have reasonable prices ($38 for a mani-pedi) and the color will last 3-4 weeks for the pedi and for me up to 2 weeks for the mani. They have redecorated in the past 5 years and also have great waxing services. My mani-pedi I paid $75 for in Boston is chipping far faster than whenever I go to Art's...indeed still a favorite! read more

SLOPPY, rushed job on my manicure and pedicure. I could have done a nicer, cleaner job myself. The massage chair didn't work, the place was dirty and they charge a little more than all the surrounding places in Saco, Biddeford and South Portland. Will not be going back. Do yourself a favor and find a different place. read more

I'm fairly new to the area (three years) but I have been going to Art's Nails since I moved here. Last week I went back after staying away during the lockdown. The nail tech I had, from the start, was rude. First she told me that I would need to buy a "kit" consisting of a small plastic box, a spongy file, and a small nail file for 5 dollars, a new "policy". I asked if it was necessary and was told yes, that all salons required this "box" and that I would need to have it anytime I needed a pedicure. Then she asked if I wanted a "gel nail" pedicure (I knew this was coming) and I politely said no. She told me it would "last longer" and again a polite no. From then on she didn't speak, or look at me for the remainder of the service. When she finished, she walked away and left me sitting at the bowl, no words. Finally another tech asked me if I was ready to leave (after 15 min of "drying time" at the foot sink) and took my money and I left. Oh, and the nail tech NEVER USED the "mandatory" pedicure box, using her own tools instead. I'm sorry I didn't get her name, but probably wouldn't publish it here anyway. Please, Art's Nails owners, remind your young techs (the more mature ones are always nice!) that service is key these days. No reason to be rude if we don't choose a more expensive service. All that does is make customers like me walk away. There are plenty more salons in the greater Portland area who need the business! read more

I came here with my mom, future sister-in-law, and her mother last weekend. We made an appointment the day before since there were four of us and we had another appointment to get to later that day. We arrived at 10:30 on the dot, and the place was PACKED. Every pedicure chair was taken, plus there were two or three folks getting manicures. There was also a couple waiting on the couch they have in the waiting area. We were told to pick our colors, and then proceeded to wait 25 minutes until a chair opened up for us. My mom and I were seated first, since we were getting manis, but my SIL and her mom waited even longer for a pedi chair to open up. We all started at different times, with my SIL's mom waiting 45 minutes after our appointment time before they even started on her. Turns out there was a group of moms and young daughters (we're talking less than 10 years old here) that walked in for pedis before us and then decided last minute that they also wanted manis. They were there before us, sure, but what's the point of making an appointment if you can't accommodate it? They did a great job - my nails still look fantastic, and the prices were better than any places here in Boston could do, but the whole thing felt rushed and I felt like my technician never even acknowledged I was there. Certainly not the most relaxing treatment I've ever gotten. My SIL and her mom said the pedi was great and the hot stone massage was luxurious. I've been here before and had a decent experience, but this time left a bit to be desired. read more

I have always enjoyed going to Art's Nails. The staff is always friendly and not pushy. My nails came out great. I will definitely be back!
