My husband surprised me when he said he wanted to attend & we both enjoyed the event immensely. The second event was in October to paint the Scary House. I had registered to attend with my good friend but due to unforseen circumstances she had to cancel at the last minute. My husband offered to accompany me as I had already registered & paid. We both were amazed this was not just painting a picture of a house, it was an art class taught by Tom Perkowitz. It was truly a memorable experience & who knew ? A Saturday afternoon date for this married couple who are polar opposites in many ways, accidentally discovering they had found a hobby that appealed to both of them & should pursue future events of this type. I bought paint by number sets for us & am hoping that more of this classes will be offered at the studio or may just create a paint party of my own with friends if there are no events coming up. I rate this a 5 & highly recommend this place to one & all.

We always get great instruction, supplies and time to complete our project. Myself and children have always been thrilled with the product we come home with and are anxious to go back to paint more. His teaching style is casual and funny, and the class atmosphere is relaxed, allowing one to work at their own pace. Ceramic Pieces: Neil's designs are beautiful pieces of functional pottery, and he really listens to the wishes his clients when they order custom pieces & sets. It is noteworthy that many of us continue year after year because of this atmosphere of fun, laughter and learning. Throwing pots takes a great deal of practice and we learn from our mistakes. For that reason, it is so nice that Neil does not hover over us. We are able to make those mistakes without feeling nervous or under the spotlight, yet he is there to help when needed. We took a class where we learned how to create a glass pyramid from a mold, and it was fascinating from start to finish. The demonstration was easy to follow and really fun to watch, and then we got to make our own with hands-on guidance throughout the process. The class lasted about an hour and a half, which felt like the perfect amount of time, and we were able to pick up our finished piece within three days. Seeing the final result made it even more special.

It was really cool to see all the different options of items you can make at the studio. We actually looked into the other classes that they had and are interested in coming back to make different things such as pumpkins or glasses. After seeing the final product of what we created, we fell in love with the art pieces we made. Everything is so unique, the color selections and the process of making them went really well. We decided to opt for the extra option of adding the glow to our our pieces and it was totally worth it. This was a totally fun date idea for the price. Like I said, we'll most likely be back to do this again because we love the art pieces we made and would like to make other ones too.

The professionalism he displayed when a woman, who was insistent on interrupting the conversation he and I were having about appraisals was impressive albeit his firm tone, which was likely necessary to grab the women's attention. Her abrupt attempt at getting his attention over the top of me, blatant disregard to follow store policy of 'no food or drink' as the toddler in her stroller ate snacks and drank from a sippy cup, and immediate eruption of distain the second he assured a need to finish our conversation was appalling. If she comes through with her promise to taint his name please note Mark only thanked her for coming into the store and wished her a good day as she all but cursed him on her way out.
