As you can see this is my first Yelp review ever, so you know this place must be shady if I am doing something I normally wouldn't just to feel a little justice after dealing with their business.
I was appalled after dealing with management, in particular, Terri. After spending my Saturday taking a tour with an optimistic guide who said it was very likely I would get the studio shown, I was pumped. $500/month and a $595 deposit? Cool. I contacted them Monday (two days later), letting them know I can drop by the check that day if I did, in fact, receive the studio I applied for (since they said they would let me know Monday), and then the manager, Terri informs me that she gave that studio to someone else who already rents from Art Explosions but GOOD NEWS! they have a smaller studio that I can waste more time looking at and applying for with absolutely no guarantee they won't give it to someone who already rents there, leading potential renters on this never-ending, time/money-wasting goose chase. Also even BETTER news! My grade B credit score is "too low" and would require a $1200 deposit for the smaller studio--double the deposit that was initially reported to me. When I asked Terri what she qualified as a "low credit score" since I was seriously confused, she had the audacity to tell me to "check my credit score", then sent condescending directions on how I could go about doing this.
I am almost thirty years old I know how to check my credit score, honey.
I told her I was still interested in the smaller studio, however; I thought it was only fair, after what happened with the previous studio, and because of the lack of info regarding a doubling deposit, that I pay the initial deposit we agreed to. I told her when I was free to look at the other studio and when to talk. Terri did not get back about showing the studio or talking about the deposit. Instead, she sent me a curt email regarding my "low credit score" and their priorly unmentioned "policy" regarding poor people. Honey, a "low credit score" is usually a D or F--MAYBE a low C. Shady shady shady politics and 100% NO ACCOUNTABILITY. Trust that Terri will put it all on you. She apparently has zero impact on the world. Honest renters are making her life soooo hard that she has no choice but to ghost them by not returning their phone calls.
