A local treasure that many cities the size of Modesto don't have: a good-sized gallery devoted to…read moredisplaying local art, with a gift shop that sells pieces by local artists, including very affordable prints and cards. Some of the same local artists whose art you can buy also give classes in the learning space. Exhibits rotate often, and there are always announcements for the next one. Now here's the thing with a place that displays a lot of local art: the aesthetics will vary. There are artists I think are top-notch (and I buy the print versions I can afford because my current budget doesn't stretch to originals to go over the sofa). There are artists I think are.. having a great time with self-expression (so I don't buy). Regardless, it is delightful that these are my neighbors (more or less), and many are depicting the local landscape in a part of California that tends to get neglected. Where else can I buy prints of actual Modesto-area places, rather than the "more important" beauty spots elsewhere in the state? I adore this gallery and go as often as I can. Occasionally they will feed you cheese bits or whatever, in a festive way.

I took this course a few years back and even recommended friends shortly after I started. I feel horrible for that now. I applied and had interviews at many locations in the Modesto area as well as surrounding areas, all of the businesses said they do not hire from this school. I was very confused because we were told that it was a reputable school and paid a lot of money to attend. I feel scammed because I have yet to find a job in the field and have ended up taking another career option because by now I wouldn't even remember the things that we learned in this course. I graduate 6/29/2019. It's sad because they claim to be able to help you with job placement and help after but that never happened. Please don't take this course. Both Buster and Andrea were part of the Holiday Bazaar I organized in December 2013 at my daughter's elementary school. All the children in attendance were thrilled to get a special balloon created by Buster and then step to their right and have their faces transformed by Andrea. Buster and Andrea are a great team, detail oriented, super attitudes and the patience of saints. They love kids and kids love them. The duo always have smiles planted on their faces and positive energy. Their talents are beyond your imagination and add that "something special" to any party/event. When our son turned 3, we initially enrolled him part-time to help him socialize and get comfortable around other children. Within just a few weeks, his English vocabulary grew tremendously. It was honestly amusing, and impressive, to hear him use new words we had never taught him while telling us about his day. He also became much more comfortable interacting with both children and adults. Although he is still naturally shy, he has come out of his shell significantly, and we eventually moved him to full-time care after seeing how much he was benefiting. As parents, we also really appreciated the level of communication Childtime provided. They send home a weekly menu so we know what meals and snacks are being served, and his teachers (shout out to Ms. Josephine and Ms. Stacy!) would regularly post updates and photos on the app of our son's day. Getting to see him participate in activities that aren't always possible at home (color runs, magician shows, dance parties) was one of our favorite parts of the experience. I'd also like to recognize Sonja, the director, who has always been courteous, accommodating, and honest. On multiple occasions, she went out of her way to point out a promotional discount, vacation options, as well as a corporate discount available through my employer. That level of transparency and willingness to help really stood out to us.
