I needed someone to install safety bars in my mom's shower. Taking care of elderly parents is a challenge, finding a good handyperson doesn't have to be. Found Alex who owns Arsunda (I asked him about this, it is the name of a Swedish city, but he is not Swedish. It's also the name of an IKEA chair btw). Not only did he come on time, but he was a few minutes early! My pet peeve is when you are given a large window of time. No man, just tell me what time you'll be there! I had already purchased the safety bars and showed Alex where I wanted them installed in the shower. He used a stud finder to make sure that the bars were safely installed and drilled through the tiles. The job took about an hour for two bars. We absolutely loved our experience working with Alex and are still working with him on ongoing projects! When we moved into our home, we were told we needed to update our electrical panel, and Alex took the time to walk us through the scope of work and exactly what would be required, at a very fair value. As first-time homebuyers, escrow and the home sale process were incredibly stressful, and Alex was truly compassionate, patient, and understanding throughout the entire process. While we did need to obtain a permit through the City of Folsom and contact SMUD ourselves, Alex handled every other detail seamlessly, even when my husband and I had a million questions. Our project was a bit more complex, and we really appreciated that he consulted another electrician to ensure everything was done correctly and with precision. SInce moving into my new place.. yelp has become my best friend.. finding people who can help me get my place back to a good baseline. some experiences.. havent been the greatest.. others... AMAZING. Arsunda was one of those places.. they got back to me regarding an issue i was having with my gate, and the previous owners decision to only have the gate lock from the outside.. and having locked myself in my own backyard.. aside from this issue.. the gate rubbed against the frame pretty badly... I had them install cabinet hardware for my entire downstairs and they had quick availability and were easy to schedule with. The handyman Paul completed this entire job in one day which was exactly why I wanted to hire someone. This project would have taken me a week or more to do. He measured and aligned and drilled holes for all of our cabinet hardware starting from scratch and did it perfect. Rescheduling problems, inability to communicate properly due to technician inability to speak English so questions ignored. If I insisted on answers, a call would need to be made to his supervisor who spoke English. Asked for photos to be sent of work accomplished for my landlords records. Ignored. The final result was unsatisfactory and the installed router was able to connect but not useable until I contacted the new service. Was told I could pay on Zell but zell rejected so I had to write a check. Very expensive for incomplete work. read more
