Not only did she not report back, but the girl who made the threat called me. She told me that my daughter was not the student she was aiming the threat at, that she and student it was meant for just had that "kind of relationship", and NEXT TIME she'd be sure it was said where my daughter couldn't hear it. Mind you, my daughter is 10 years old, and came home legitimately scared. Weeks later and I'm still losing sleep thinking about these poor babies being spoken to this way, and wondering if the mom of this other little girl knows how her daughter is being treated. Absolutely unacceptable & absolutely do NOT recommend Alicats!!

Kruti specializes in Bollywood/Southeast Asian dance as well as traditional Indian dance…read more My wife decided to sign up for an adult Bollywood class a few years ago and absolutely loved it. So the next step was to get our son signed up (he was 5 at the time). The dance studio is located in Duluth with plenty of parking and a constant flow of parents/kids. But don't think of this as another kids camp - the parents and kids here are committed to learning the art. They have a few dance sessions per time slot and usually operate only on the weekends. Most instructors are current students, which makes it easier (less intimidating) for those learning. While they offer zoom classes if you are traveling, in-person classes are the best to pick up some of the instant feedback and nuances with each step. My son has been enjoying this classes and has even performed at one recital (oh yes, they do a recital every summer for those who sign up for the spring classes). Kruti is a well-run studio. From operations, logistics, planning, and even getting outfits for the recital - kudos to the team. We've liked this place so much that our entire family is now at Kruti leaning some new dance moves. Great way to sweat and mingle with some like minded folks. A++

My name is Archith Seshadri and I am a journalist and yoga teacher based in Atlanta, Ga. I met…read moreShemoni Parekh in college more than two decades ago and was always mesmerized when I saw a Kruti dance performance on stage at our annual Holi shows. Over the years, I've seen the Kruti Dance Academy grow in many ways. They made the wildcard round in NBC's America's Got Talent, performed in a reality TV show called Chak Dhoom Dhoom in India on Colors TV, and paraded through the streets of New York City during the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. So it was only natural for me to fulfil a lifelong dream -- to not just watch such amazing dances but also learn and become part of the dance family. That's why I decided at the age of 39, I would enroll in Kruti Dance Academy just as we were on the tail end of the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the past few years, I feel much more confident, energized, motivated and comfortable as a dancer on stage -- a skill I never had! The school puts on Broadway quality dance shows every year with finesse, vibrance and flawless execution. I share my own story to inspire other people to never use age as a number to pause your dreams. Kruti Dance Academy has classes in person in Atlanta, GA and also virtual zoom classes where students can join from all over the world. You can also learn just to learn and not worry about performing at a recital. And most importantly, our Adult Bollywood dance class has helped me create some great friends who share a united passion for dance! This past year, I also added Bharatnatyam (classical Indian dance) to the repertoire. If I can juggle a demanding job and a crazy schedule and make time for movement, so can you - cheers to the academy for 30 years of excellence and to many decades more! A huge thanks to Dina Aunty (founder) and Shemoni for the brilliance and artistry -- a wonderful creation (Kruti means to create).

I was nervous for my first class, but they took me and treated me no differently than the girls who had been dancing since they could walk. I was hooked. I danced here all through middle school and high school. I was well prepared for college level dance classes. I all but lived here from ages 16 to 18. Their niche is definitely school age from kindergarten through 12th grade. Since I was diagnosed with epilepsy and officially off the roads for 6 months, I find myself back in the neighborhood for the next 6 weeks. I stopped in today asking about adult classes. There were only 3 and none of which were at convenient times. I explained my situation and was offered the opportunity to take class with the older teens. I'm the exception, not the rule. The fact they were willing to accommodate me reminded me why I loved this place so much. I hadn't set foot in there for a decade and it was like I had just taken class yesterday. Maybe it's my nostalgia talking, but I would whole heartedly recommend this studio to anyone with kids looking for a solid studio. It's small, so the attention isn't spread out. Jonnie, the owner, is wonderful and always happy to help where she can. There's a performance company for the more serious students. There's a relatively small group of teachers so it's easy to get to know them and get used to their style of teaching. Should I have children and find myself living here, I'd send them to this studio without a second thought.
