I scheduled my echo and came in to have the test done. I was told I don't need to pay a copay. The echo tech was extremely impersonally and borderline rude. When I went to the front desk to ask when I would receive my results, I was told I could wait in the lobby if I had time and receive them then. I said ok. Then I was asked to pay $40 to do that. Additional Update 4/17/26: I had an echocardiogram scheduled today and arrived 10 minutes early…read more Despite that, I waited an additional 20 minutes past my appointment time. I also asked multiple times about the cost of the visit, and no one was able to provide a clear answer. At that point, I decided to leave, I'm not going to wait close to an hour for a practice that doesn't prioritize patient care or communication. To make matters worse, I am still waiting on my lab results. They confirmed the results were received on the 8th, yet I have not received any follow-up or evaluation. Overall, the experience felt disorganized, and I would recommend considering another provider. Previous Update: I previously left a review for New Wave Physicians Group and, unfortunately, I'm updating it again out of frustration. In my original review, I mentioned that my experiences with Dr. Carder and Dr. Troung were positive, they were both professional, attentive, and helpful during my visits. However, I also noted ongoing issues with the front office staff, and those problems have only gotten worse. It is extremely difficult to reach anyone by phone. Calls often go unanswered, and when someone does pick up, it feels like a rare occurrence. I've had to call repeatedly at different times of the day just to speak with someone, and on multiple occasions I've been placed on hold and then disconnected. More concerning is what happened after my most recent appointment with Dr. Carder. I went in for serious symptoms, had an EKG performed, and completed lab work. I specifically asked how I would receive my results and what the next steps would be regarding treatment or medication. I was told I would receive a phone call, but that never happened. After calling over 50 times, I finally reached someone who informed me that my results had been available for quite some time but had not even been reviewed. I also followed up on a sleep study that was discussed during my visit, only to find out it had not been submitted. The medications I was told would be prescribed were never sent to the pharmacy either. On top of all of this, I still don't have access to the patient portal. Despite multiple attempts to get assistance from the office staff, no one has been able to help me get it set up. These issues have been ongoing and are now affecting my ability to receive timely care. At this point, I feel like I've given this office more than enough chances and will likely be looking for a new provider.

Love the doctors. Hate the office staff. I've been going…read morehere for at least 6 years. There's been a chronic issue where some meds are called in for refills some are not due to error. I've been told more than once that i need to see the doctor for a refill, despite having literally just been in his office 30 days ago. We're talking about meds i've been on for 4 years. Birth Control. Blood Pressure. Cholesterol meds. And I very regularly have to fight the incompetent office staff about the fact it's NOT time for another visit yet. They're constantly trying to milk me like a cash cow. Right now i've been off my meds for 2 weeks, diligently trying to reach the Doctor. But no messages ever get to him. I'm told i need to be in office to get a refill on my birth control, i saw him 7 months ago. It's not a controlled substance. I should not need to be seen more than once a year for this. I also had problems with the Nurse practitioner forcibly pulling me OFF my medication without my consent, despite being IN AN ACTUAL APPOINTMENT WITH THE DOCTOR AT THE TIME SHE TRIED TO MAKE THIS CHANGE WITHOUT EITHER OF OUR CONSENT. i feel like my health is being held hostage by someone with a ledger and a red pen in the back office.

I…read morewish I could transport him into a best in class office environment with: 1) Professional and attentive front desk staff - they are waaaaayyyy too casual and can't be bothered. 2) more automated processes - on-line appointment setting, etc. 3) a PORTAL where you can access your test results, send notes to the staff, etc. (they still mail out test results, sometimes...a lot of time you don't hear from them at all) 4) An email box that is monitored -- i have gone weeks/months without them answering the email The front desk staff leaves a lot to be desired. I think they are used to dealing with an older clientele with "old school" processes (phone calls and fax machines) and perhaps Dr. Esantsi is headed to retirement so it's not worth making the effort, but if he intends to work for the next 2-10 years, he really needs to change his staffing and get to a more state of the art office with more on-line capability. I think the reason they never answer the phone is because they are on the phone all day just setting up appointments. That can be done on-line with Calendly. It's frustrating because i really want to keep seeing this doctor but i dread ever having to set up an appointment or go there because their processes are stuck in the 1980s.

I went to the office today because I was having problems not receiving my medication renewal when I was told on my last visit it was taken care of. (I did ask and was rudely cut short) I ran out of medication over the holiday weekend and was directed by a pharmacist to let my doctor know I was out. I tried to explain my concerns to the staff but kept getting shut off and redirected to call my pharmacy. She did not write down anything. I told her I had already cut my medication dosage in half and I would be without any medication for 24 to 48 hours per the pharmacy. ( My medication comes with warnings not to stop taking it without consulting my doctor.) I guess this staff has a degree in pharmacy as she had no concerns and kept trying to get me to leave. If this treatment continues unfortunately I will be forced to find another doctor. I have had this shut down treatment several times before and dreaded making this trip to the office today.
