I was telling my friend that I wanted to see Marachi's and I was hungry. So they suggested we go here for a late lunch. We had reservations for 3:30pm and then had to move it back 30 min because we were running late from another event. The restaurant was super accommodating. When you arrive you need to valet park your vehicle. You walk up a flight of stairs which has vendors on one side selling colorful snacks and treats. When you get to the top you go to the left to the hostess stand. You can also see the to go order area. I was greeted by freshly cooked and the largest chicharron (pork skin/crackling), I've EVER seen in my life. We were seated immediately and were in a room that had a live band performing. Our table was in a perfect spot to see everything clearly. Food arrived super quickly. My friend is a "vegetarian", ordered a dish with a stuffed poblano pepper, with Mexican rice and also had a super large salad with Avocados. I ordered chicken enchiladas and they were sooo good! Actually, I questioned my friend's true vegetarian roots because I noticed they were eating off my plate the sauce that my CHICKEN enchiladas were drenched in. When I mentioned it, they just laughed it off. My meal also came with frijoles and fresh homemade tortilla chips. I devoured it ALL. Anyway, my meal was perfectly balanced and seasoned. The chicken, Mexican rice (and the green salsa) was so good and flavorful I could have bathed myself in it. The green salsa they provided was not super spicy (which I was glad about). The sauce my friend was eating off my plate was SUPER spicy, but paired perfectly with the dish and the cheese provided over the enchiladas. The performance was wonderful. I enjoyed the singing and dancing. Folks were really into it and were waving their napkins over their heads in celebration (I joined in). After the performance was over everyone started shouting for an encore. It was great. Mariachi band walks around the restaurant after the stage performance and offers to sing per song. There were two different bands working the room we were in. It was cool to hear them sing they take turns. One group finishes and then the other one starts. I would recommend this. The prices were very reasonable. Also if you have a LARGE group this would be a good spot for you. They seem to be able to accommodate groups well. The service here is very good and fast.
This place was amazing! The entrance was beautifully decorated for Día de Los Muertos, there were tons of steps to go up though (so be mindful of that) , this is a traditional Mexican restaurant and it feels like you're arriving at someone's home, as you make your way to your table, you pass by the kitchen area and a souvenir shop, super super cute!! The service was great, they were very attentive and several waiters/waitresses take care of your table so they're quick to clean up your plates and such which I appreciated, you had space for your next dish. When we arrived, we happen to get there while a show was happening, there was music and singing and just all very colorful, it was loud and fun! The menu had a good variety of food, and the food itself was pretty tasty. We started with some appetizers and we got the huaraches and those were omgggggg finger licking goodness! Those are a must! We also had the barbacoa and it was good but kinda dry, not my fav here, I'd prob skip it. We had the chicken soup and that was great! The guacamole was kinda uneventful and was missing salt and spice. To drink we ordered 2 pitchers of aguas frescas, tamarind was one and it was nice and refreshing but the real winner was the Horchata, that one was made just right! For dessert we had the helado de mamey and that was really really good! Price range is on the higher end BUT with the show and the service you can see why. I'd def recommend visiting this place at least once! read more

This restaurant is a staple. My family is from Mexico City and has been coming to this restaurant for over 45 years. I've been coming here since I was a little girl. Every time we're in Mexico City, we HAVE to stop here - it's the law :) On this last visit to see my family, it was also my husband's first time to Mexico City so I was really excited for him. They have shows on weekends so make a reservation in advance to get a good table near the stage. On this last visit we were a group of 15. Their star dish is the barbacoa. It's not to everyone's liking but it's worth a try. Their carnitas are also delicious. They had a 13 piece mariachi band this night, and I LOVE mariachi. They also had a play going on w/the mariachi band. This restaurant experience was a highlight for my husband. They have an indoor playground for the kids. The drinks were good. they also have cafe de la olla (Mexican coffee). Lots of foreigners come here as well. On this night, there were folks visiting from Switzerland and other countries. As you'll notice, if it's your first time here and you're coming from abroad or celebrating something special, it's tradition to pass a napkin to the MC, with a note of what you're celebrating etc. and they'll announce it. My husband didn't know this tradition and my mom wrote a note for him ;) So he was super surprised when the MC called him by name in front of the whole restaurant and they welcomed him to Mexico City :) I was pleasantly surprised to see the staff were very considerate and conscious of covid-19. All of the servers were wearing masks and a face shield. All of the non-server staff had masks. You don't see the shield anymore in the US but was so happy to see it here. I felt a lot safer. Also throughout the restaurant, you'll see a wall of old photos of the owners with famous Mexican celebrities who have dined at this restaurant. If you're in Mexico City, definitely stop here! read more
This place has everything you are looking for in a mexican party. You have different styles of live music, lots of food, a great building (mexican kind if colonial), party decor, children playground, and lots of people that are having a good time or celebrating something as you are :) So atmosphere is really great! Be sure to get previous reservations. Even with them, we had to wait about 30mins or so. It gets super crowded. They have large tables where you get to order by kilograms! We tried everything we could!! It was A lot of food. The taste was amazing!!! Barbacoa is no the same barbecue as in the USA. It's shredded beef. You can also ask for a beef soup and add a bit of this beef. There are different kind of tacos. Oh my god, paradise hahaha. There is also another part of the restaurant where there are theater plays or dancers. I think you can get tickets for this before 3pm. When going out, you have to be prepared to spend some minutes waiting the valet parking guys get your car because there are so many people and so many cars! They have another parking lot! Imagine that. read more

This place is huge to include its own bull fighting arena. I try to stop every time I'm in Mexico City. The food is always delicious, service is fast, mariachis wandering the restaurant, and good drink selection. Perfect for large parties or intimate events. Ive never had a bad meal here no matter what I ordered. I highly recommend Arroyo and reservations no matter how small or large the party. read more
There's absolutely no other place i'd rather go to eat some great mexican barbacoa. There are a lot of different halls and in every single one are typical mexican shows, from jarochos to mariachi, dancers, trio, really the whole nine yards. The food is amazing, the service too, prices are on the high-end range, but totally and absolutely worth it. The place is incredibly big, as well as the parking lot, valet parking is pretty much standard in Mexico City. Cashless is of course possible, we're in the 21st century. This is definitely one of the places i always visit when in Mexico. read more

The best lamb bbq that you will have in the city! We tried a lamb soup that was delicious, tacos de escamoles (ant eggs) and the lamb bbq! Everything was ridiculously delicious!! The staff is really great with you! read more

This is a good choice if you want to taste some of the typical Mexican food and also enjoy the expectation of Mexican music/dances. I've tried Barbacoa (lamb), carnitas (pork), sopecitos (corn), tortilla soup and they were all good and representative of Mexican food taste (not Texmex or Taco Bell). There is a playground for small kids, so it is also a good place for going with your family. read more

Hi Alfredo, thanks a lot for your comments, for us it's a pleasure…
The food was all very tasty, and the horchata was really delicious (couldn't get enough of that!) The only thing I did not like was the loud music. We were seated in the back, quite a ways from the music. Then the musicians moved to another stage that was close to where we were sitting, and at that point I wanted to leave because I personally can't be in places where it's so noisy that I can't think or have a conversation with the person sitting next to me. This is a very popular restaurant, many families with kids come here. read more

Una lástima. read more

Great food, service is also good but sometimes it takes too much time to bring the food, it will depend on how full the place is.
