The private patio with a grill and fire pit had a view of the water. It was also impeccably clean. Being able to rent a golf cart made traveling around the resort with two kids a breeze. From the beach to the multiple playgrounds, we were able to get anywhere we needed. There are so many amenities as well. The spring fed lake is gorgeous. There is a kids swimming area and a deeper adult swimming area with a swimming mat and a floating dock. If lake swimming isn't for you, there is also a heated pool. We also used the Wibit (floating obstacle course), kayaks, and paddle boats. All the rentals were reasonably priced and were great additions to our stay. The camp store and cafe are great as well. We were able to grab pizza and ice cream during our stay. We will definitely be back.

Depending on how people park the sites can be a little tough to pack into.. 3. There are sooooooo many golf carts! And the golf cart parade at sun down, it was over the top. The parade seemed to be made out of season campers that all know one another. 4. The older teenage element, that seemed to be seasonal campers, whoa! The mouthes one them. We fished with our kids as they dropped bunches of foul language & then proceeded to talk about fighting people, slamming people on the ground, and then ultimately sexual intercourse. These kids were not role models for our young ones. Oh and they were watching a kid that is about 6 years old. 5. The bathrooms, while they were. It the worst we've ever seen, they need a make over. 6. The lake is awesome. Bring a kayak or canoe if you have it. 7. Our fire pit had not been cleaned out in a very very long time.

It was a very family driven place and there was a lot for everyone. The water area is so good when it's sunny and there's the play area for the kids the shelters for barbecue and picnics and a lot of trails which are pet friendly. The rain dampened our visit but the park in itself was extremely good. DNR facilities were 24/7 they kept a strong vigilance in the camp, which was very comforting. Other than that all service is like fire wood ice was available at short notice.

Whitewater State Park was the 16th state park in Indiana and was founded in 1949. It's actually the third largest. It has 200 acre Whitewater Lake along with shoreline hiking, flat-water boating, swimming, fishing, and camping opportunities. It has 9 miles of horseback riding trails. The park area was originally purchased by Union, Fayette, Franklin, and Wayne counties to serve as a memorial for those lost during World War II. Additional activities include picnic areas with shelters (reservations required), interpretive naturalist services, 1 boat launch ramp at Whitewater Lake, bridle trails, cabins, fishing/ice fishing, hiking trails, canoe/paddleboat/rowboat rentals, swimming, and two marinas. Camping includes 236 electric sites, 45 non-electric, and 37 horsemen's primitive sites. There's a camp store, dumping station, and youth tent area. There are five hiking trails - all are considered moderate in difficulty. They range from 1-2.7 miles in length, though at least one also has a short loop. There really isn't a single trail that I'd say is accessible, though there are parts of trails I was able to access. That said, Whitewater in general isn't particularly wheelchair friendly other than in the more truly "public" areas. As an experienced wheelchair user, I doubt I'd head out on these trails alone. Whitewater hosts a variety of events throughout the year. While I wish it was more accessible here, I still consider this one of Indiana's more underappreciated natural gems.

There is a great pond to walk around that offers catch-and-release fishing, great playgrounds, a nice swimming pool, and lots of room for the kids to play. The bathroom and shower are nice and clean! When I made my reservations, I had to do some revising and they were so accommodating. While I asked for a pull-thru, I did take a back-in spot and they had someone spot for me. I would have liked a 50amp and sewer hookup, but again, I needed to make changes. They offer both RV and tent sites. The tent sites are in their own section, a nice green grassy area! If you decide to stay here, I found that a 30amp will run one of my A/Cs just fine and because of all the shady, I really only needed the one A/C. I did need to have my tanks dumped while I was there. They offer a dump service so I didn't need to move my RV nor even be there. It was a nominal fee compared to the savings from a full hook-up site!

The only issue we had was most of the site was sand which was very annoying trying to keep out of the camper. We had a good experience with the staff at the office, the bathroom/shower was nice, but as with any campground a mess towards the end of the day. I did see that they cleaned the shower area but with all the traffic in and out I realize it would be hard to keep clean and some kids/campers are inconsiderate. The weekend we was there was full but evenings were quiet. Being on the river we did have to contend with preteens walking through your campsite to get to the river, which I blame on no camping etiquette, lol

Lots people from Indy area come here. Having golf cart would be nice & they do rent them. We always bring our own drinking water & only use site water for showers flushing. (Some bad reviews complained about water) Kids 3rd grade and shouldn't have any trouble swimming in quarry, It's loaded with inflatable to climb. Water is very calm to tube. I can see Thursday night place started filling & people were beginning to let there hair down. If your seasoned camper you won't be let down.
