Their brown shed I imagine normally stocks more items but we arrived late in the day so there wasn't as much available to choose from which isn't a surprise. I wasn't that disappointed because I mainly came for the gorgeous wildflower bouquet. My husband and I bought a small bag of mixed potato varieties and a carton of mixed cherry tomatoes. Payment is based on an honor system. I paid using their QR code on a sign posted next to their door. The payment is processed via Square. We saw in the shed: caps, potatoes, herbs, vegetables, and floral bouquets. The shed is kept cold via an AC. Highly recommended and I suggest arriving earlier in the day.

I'm a new customer of Almstead within the past few months and could not be happier with their…read moreservice and my overall experience. As a new homeowner one of our concerns was a clearly visible dead tree, which was over 30 feet tall and leaning against another tree nearby. My new neighbors dubbed this the widow maker and refused to walk or park their cars nearby for fear of it falling. After calling Almstead we made an appointment for arborist Matt to come out and render an opinion. He was kind enough to walk our entire property (approximately half an acre) and render an opinion on all of our trees, pointing out several other dead trees and those that could benefit from pruning. He was patient to answer our questions and concerns, and even spoke to some neighbors the same day regarding their trees. After receiving a quote the same day, Matt was flexible to prioritize those items that we were ready to move forward with and did not push us to pay for those items that we didn't want to do. Several weeks later Matt and the team (Antonio, Javier, Luis) came back to take down two trees and trim two others. It was clear that safety was a top priority of theirs, and they took the time to clean up the yard before leaving. Several months later, a very large limb fell off one of those trees that was pruned, so we called Matt back out to take a closer look. He reinspected the tree, identified what seemed to be the culprit, and assured us that the tree is safe. He even took the time to take a closer look at spots on my lawn where I suspected a fungus was developing, identifying the problem as chinch bugs (never heard of them before). All-in-all, I would highly recommend Matt and the team out of the Hawthorne office. They're down to earth, will address your concerns, and won't try to steal your money with needless projects.
