The only negative thing was the couch in the living room. If you are looking to relax after a long day of hiking/activity, you will not be able to on that couch. It's like sitting on a bench. I'd strongly recommend bringing an oversized bean bag chair or something comfortable to sit on. Other than that, our stay was great!

The welcome center seemed brand new and was really well done, with a small museum, plus access to the campground and tons of cabins available to rent. The hiking here is incredible. We did the Hemlock Gorge Trail, and it was just the right level of challenge while still being super enjoyable. The scenery was beautiful the entire way. I also highly recommend checking out the Little and Big Lyons waterfalls. It made for a great loop trail and was definitely a highlight. The park itself is very well maintained. We visited right after some heavy winds, so there were quite a few downed trees, but maintenance was already out there actively clearing and fixing things, which was impressive to see. Overall, such a beautiful park and a trip full of unforgettable memories.

All of our experiences have been pretty awesome. There are scheduled events every weekend and there's something for everyone kids and adults. In addition the club house also has a game room with ping-pong table, arcade games, pool table, puzzles and board games, and a large flat screen TV. Wally World also has an large outdoor pool, shallow end is 3 feet deep, a Putt-Putt golf course, a new playground, a fairy garden and house, and an outdoor stage and white screen for concerts and movies. Went to big restroom shower area to use those restrooms they were clean but it was party central loud voices & drinking galore going on at late hours! Before leaving for the Labor Day weekend family members were offered small bottles of alcohol upon refusing later found one dropped in camping chair ! Not family oriented campground at all BEWARE!!? What the sites lacked in width, they made up for in length. There was plenty of room for our tents and vehicles. They had a DJ Saturday night that was pretty good. A lot of people out dancing and having a good time. With our large group, we couldn't fit on the first bus for canoe drop off. So we had to wait about an hour to board to get shuttled to our drop off but that was fine. I definitely suggest making reservations if you plan on going to down the river. Overall it was pretty relaxed, clean, and our entire group had a great time. The prices were amazing too. We will be coming back next summer! (picture is the view from our campsite)

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. We love to try different places and decided to try this campground out early…read moreMay. We have been to many campgrounds in and out of state and this was by far the worst experience. We booked along the river despite the reviews of being able to get up the hill if it rains. When we checked in, I voiced my concern about the full rainy weekend we had ahead of us and camping down the hill. She stated..."You should be fine". She should have never let ANYONE proceed down the hill and should have offered another campsite at the top. We proceeded down the hill only to sink in the yard and our 2500 in 4 Low, could not get our ToyHauler out of the mud...twice. It took a large bobcat to help give us enough boost to get out of the hole we sunk into. Lesson Learned. DO NOT CAMP HERE IF IT RAINS. Let me give you our review other than being stuck within the first 5 minutes of getting to our site. Once able to get the Hell out of this campground, we did. No refund and hopefully they use our money and our friends money to get some gravel for their roads and campsites. We had 5 campers with our group and thank god we stopped 3 of them from even making the drive to this campground, and stopped the ones that showed up right behind us, from bringing their camper down the hill where they would have been stuck with us. 1. Almost all of the sites are grass, not gravel. 2. The hill to get to the river sites (200s) washes away when it rains, despite their crew that "fixes" it when it rains. On the way down the hill, the road was so washed out, I thought for sure we were going to lose our camper over the edge. 3. Most all of the roads back to the campground and down the hill are wide enough to get ONE camper. God help if another vehicle is coming the opposite direction. 4. The mosquito population was HORRIBLE. While standing outside talking with our friends that came down the hill to help us get out of the muddy mess we found ourselves in, 100s swarmed and bit us. There is not enough mosquito spray to keep you from getting carried away. 5. The outhouses were overrun with bugs and mosquitos that it was difficult to even use them. They would fly in your face and up your nose. 6. If you camp at the bottom, the sites are very large but bring extra long plug and water hose as you also share with your neighbor.

Great for group and family camping!…read more We usually do a big family camping trip. Since not all family members have campers it can be difficult to find a campground to accommodate. They have a large camping area for groups with electric and water that you can rv or tent camp. Plus lots of different sizes cabins a short walk away. You can also rent canoes for the river right from their location and they transport you up the river. Since they canoe a different section it is usually less crowded. You just have to be careful bc parts of the campground are hilly and can be tricky pulling your camper around.
