The service was phenomenal. Super welcoming to visitors and wanted to take the time to inform us on everything being served. Food was delicious! Everything was included in the price per person. For 35 euros per person you get three starters, drinks, Paella, and dessert. One of the best experiences on our trip so far!

I asked a lifetime resident, a food aficionado, a trusted source for his favorite. He was quick with a response and didn't even have to think about it. Casa Cesar. Situated back from the sea front away from those "in your face" restaurants capitalizing on proximity to the beach with high visibility, you really need to look hard to find this place. Even the taxi driver drove by it twice! But you need to find it. It's ridiculous. Greeted by the owner (?) who gave every single table attention and an explanation of how this meal works. No menu. Fixed price. 3 appetizers (unreal - and oh my, those cockles?), unlimited wine and beer, seafood paella featuring fresh that day fish, shrimp and assorted seafood, dessert, and a choice of after dinner drink. Everything was remarkable but that paella? OMG! Cooked slowly to order, the flavors were full and divine. The crispy black edges of the rice were exactly as they should be. I've had paella in many places in Spain but this? Best ever? Yes indeed. Best ever. Service was friendly, atmosphere delightful, value incredible. Yep. Pricing was €28 per person. Go ahead. Re-read what you get for that. But you know, I would have gladly paid twice that and been happy. Wow. I'm still dreaming of this meal.

I'm glad to have gotten it out of the way because I don't see myself eating it again for a very long time. It's not that the food was bad, but it's a lot. We shared the seafood paella and the traditional paella. I mostly had the seafood paella but I did try a few bites of the traditional one with rabbit and escargot. The seafood was fresh, and there was a healthy amount of prawns and squid. If you're not really into seafood or can't stand too much of the aroma or essence of seafood, do NOT get it because it is strong. After a while I got sick of the seafood flavor, which isn't a knock on the food, but a lesson that paella simply needs to be complemented with other foods. The traditional paella was quite good as well, and neither had rice that was too burnt (which I liked). I also didn't think the escargot and rabbit were particularly special. Again, portions were tremendous and I think we all left very, very full. Keep in mind that you need at least two people ordering paella in order to get it. It runs at about 18€ per person for any paella, which isn't on the low end, but you do get filled up since it's all rice.

They are served family style which I do particularly enjoy. It is a little expensive but the food is good and it is in a convenient location. There wine selection is also pretty good in my opinion, I do know they have some local options.

The sangria (our only sangria in our whole trip to Spain because 'I'm no tourist") was great. But honestly it was the service and hospitality we received that made the biggest impression. Rudy and his family were so kind and fun. It made our whole trip to Valencia worth it. Go here. The food is SO FREAKING delicious and the friendship was valuable!

Contrary to what I had read previously, I thought the sangria was delicious. My companion thought the pork was delicious and enjoyed the sauce. He did not like the vegetable side. The menu was really colorful and easy to read, though it was confusing to differentiate between the breakfast and lunch menu sections. The mussels were delicious. The sauce was great. Special call out to the creative plating and interesting plate designs that were provided. Many meals were served visually interesting wooden bowls or plates with bark adorning the sides.
