She was a young lady, I believe her name was Jada. I hope that's right, she deserves kudos. Best of all.....we picked up dessert to take home. Wow! Wow! This place was a pleasant surprise. We were headed to underground pizza and were sad to find out it didn't open til 4pm. A local recommended Arri's a couple of blocks down. We ordered Adonis Pizza and their House Pizza. Both were fabulous! We sat outside with the little terrier traveling with us as we were headed to Lake of the Ozarks! Our waitress Madison was amazing! Perfect pizza. Perfect location. Directly across the street from the Missouri State Capitol, Arris' has been around well over five decades. Delish. Definitely a politically steeped establishment. Came here for lunch. The pizza was decent. Not great but not bad. The cherry pie was awesome! The cheeesecake was great too. Yes, I had two desserts. But they were worth it. I would return just for the dessert. Our server was friendly and gave us good information. A good size spot, not too loud, good for large groups. read more

Bad day to stop here for lunch. Our waitress should have been sent home-bad attitude (?) or poor waitress. Her timing was off, asked questions & didn't wait for answers. We ordered burgers & descriptions are suggestions. No spicy sauce, canned mushrooms (who does that?) & no grilled onions, lukewarm fries. Took home fries & cooked them at home. I hope my husband didn't leave this girl a tip. She did not do anything to earn it. I know ppl go nuts over big desserts but none looked tasty just dried out looking....much like the buffet. The food here is excellent, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. However, there's a recurring issue with pickup orders that makes the experience frustrating. Almost every time I place a takeout order, something is missing--whether it's a side or an add-on I specifically asked for, like feta cheese or extra tzatziki, sauce on the side. Ect. I always make sure to confirm the order, and it's read back correctly, but when I get home and unpack everything, something is usually missing. Since my orders are often more than $60, it's not practical to stand there and check every item at the counter. It's disappointing because the food is genuinely great, and I'd come here more often if I could rely on the accuracy of my order. There's a particular kind of disappointment that comes from anticipating a great meal, only to be served something nearly inedible. Unfortunately, this isn't uncommon. In my experience, many people simply haven't encountered truly exceptional food, so their standards are based on what they've had access to rather than what's possible. Only after tasting something genuinely outstanding do they realize what they thought was "great" may have just been the best they'd had up to that point. Such was the case with Arris Pizza in Jefferson City. While the establishment has a pleasant atmosphere and the service was attentive and professional, the pizza itself was, regrettably, not up to par. It's entirely possible that other items on the menu--perhaps the desserts or non-pizza dishes--are more successful, but their pizza left much to be desired. Having worked extensively in the pizza industry across the country, both in management and as a consultant brought in to resolve operational challenges, I've developed a refined understanding of what constitutes quality pizza. That said, I did appreciate that the ambiance was calm and inviting--they resisted the all-too-common trend of playing loud, disruptive alternstive music like their neighboring competitors, which made for a much more relaxed dining environment, as it should. The bad I order a pizza and cheesy bread.. what I got was Bosco sticks I explained what I wanted and they act like they didn't know what I was talking about I then explain I wanted a hoagie bread with cheesy, they didn't even try fix my order and still didn't know what I was talking about I even showed them a photo what it looks like this has been the 3rd time that this has happen. I got a small Athena pizza for take out which has pepperoni, black olives, green peppers, and mushrooms. It was a lot for just myself, the pizza is super filling so I got about half way through. The pizza was pretty good. It is very cheesy as you can tell from the picture but I didn't love the mushrooms. I was helped immediately when I walked in and greeted. The dessert section looked absolutely so good, I wish I could've got something but I'm traveling solo and already knew I wouldn't be able to finish the pizza alone. The one thing that I noticed is that on yelp it said a small athena pizza would be $12, which is not true. This pizza was $20 which is fine, I don't think that's any fault of Arris' just something to note if you're planning on visiting or ordering. I order the same thing every time I eat there or carry out. This makes it the 4th time in 2 years you've screwed up my order. This was the first time I brought it back... Nothing pisses me off, then to have to drive 4 miles to fix your screw up. Another thing you're always busy, so don't make that your excuse like you said. This was a highly recommended pizza place from a buddy of mine. His recommendation was get a pizza and put extra cheese on it. I don't think the extra cheese was necessary but the pizza was really good. The Hercules has ground beef, Canadian bacon, pepperoni, Greek sausage, and bacon on it. The ingredients were high quality and the pizza was great! The crust was crispy on the bottom and the pizza was cut in squares, not slices. At first I wasn't sure about the squares but I actually liked it cut that way. We didn't try the desserts but the dessert case looked awesome. The decor was cool to look at and had a lot going on. During home quarantine I am getting caught up on my Yelp reviews, so I wanted to clarify that my rating is based off of service BEFORE COVID-19. Many of the restaurants seemed to close early as my family and I walked around town, so we settled in on this restaurant, which we thought would be pretty quick and easy since they were a pizza joint. They looked pretty busy being that many of the other restaurants were already closed. Being the Yelp connoisseur that I try to be (Lol), I was anxious to try this place out, seeing that they had pretty consistent high reviews. But sadly from the start, we encountered a rude hostess who gave us a bad table assignment, literally next to their front door and check-in podium. We asked if we could wait for a better location to open up, and were still given what we felt was an equally bad spot. The hostess almost appeared to be rude to us because of our mixed ethnicities as I caught others in the restaurant looking at us. This time we were seated partially blocking a doorway with one of our chairs in the being between the bar and the restaurant. Our family of three felt squished the entire time as patrons were standing around the bar chatting with the bartender, occasionally bumping into us as well as the workers with their trays of food going by. As for the food, my salad seemed to be drenched in vinegar oil, and my husband didn't care for his salty pizza sauce. Of course my daughter liked her plain, simple pasta. Not many restaurants can mess that up. The one positive note and saving grace, was that my husband liked that the drinks were cheap. It's safe to say that we will most likely be skipping this restaurant the next time we're in the area. read more

Excellent. 30 years I have been going to Arris's whenever I am in town (about 3-4 times Year). Pizza is some of the best. I am a long time Chicago / St Louis thin crust fan and Arris pizza is tops! Arris' has become a destination for us. We drive over from Washington, Mo, which is about a 90 minute drive, to rest here and to shop the Dillards outlet store. Every time we make the trip we stop at Arris'. I really want to try some of the Greek dishes- they look great! But the pizza is incredible and we get it every time. And it never disappoints. I don't give many 5 star ratings, and that doesn't mean it's the best eatery I've every eaten at- not by a long shot. But for a Pizza place/Greek casual, it's great. We love Arris, but usually get take out. This week we hung out at Arris for a while on Saturday. We had pizza, salad, and fried pickles while watching the Mizzou game in the bar. Arris pizza is always good, their new Mediterranean salad with sun-dried tomato dressing is the bomb, and they have the best fried pickles I have ever eaten -- and I always order fried pickles if they're on the menu. Our waiter was a little unenthusiastic and didn't clear our plates (maybe he's going thru a bad break up or something?) but he did get drink refills timely so he was fine! A few years back I had to go gluten free for medical reasons and was so sad that there was no good gluten free carry out pizza anywhere near. This is one of the oldest businesses in Jefferson City. It is an absolute corner stone of the culture around the capital and they branched off into a bistro now as well, but I recommend the original pizza location. The pizza is a Greek, so if you're looking for good Greek food they have a lot of that too. The family that owns it is directly from Greece, and the recipes are old world and amazing. My favorite is Italian sausage pizza, straight up. But everything here is delicious and you won't be disappointed if you're looking to feed a big family.
