The restaurant was very quiet - we were the only people there (it was 8.45pm) although there were a few people in the bar attached. No one else had appeared when we left an hour and a half later. We had a salad to start and paella as our main meal. The salad was OK but appeared to be all the ingredients left in the kitchen thrown together with a rather anonymous dressing. The paella was very good, not too salty but packed full of flavour. The top had been grilled to give the shell fish a really good taste. There was plenty for all of us and we really enjoyed the experience. I wouldn't give any more stars because the atmosphere was so flat and the salad was not brilliant. We probably would only go again if we knew when the restaurant was busy as the whole eating out experience depends on the right atmosphere. But don't let me put you off - try it yourself when you are passing and see what you think!

The restaurateur is originally French and a flare for cooking. He was very engaging and attentive on the evening we stopped by. The place was full, but he rearranged things so that our table of 5 could be seated promptly. Each one of us enjoyed what we had ordered. Located within a few minutes walk from the town's main square and the Doll Museum, L'Aplec seems to be very popular among locals. It was quite busy, almost all outdoor seats were occupied. Sat inside and ordered the weekend menu (see pics). Delicious :) Too bad the lighting inside was no good to take pictures, the food looks much better in real life. And tastes even better! The food was delicious and worth trying. I didn't like that people working there did not wore same outfit..... gave it a shabby impression of the place. Needless to say the staff were friendly and attentive to all our requests. I think this restaurant is on Michelin recommendation list, if that is true so my advise to achieve it would be to work more in staff's professionalism and attire.
