There is more here than is apparent from the street. The front section seems like many other restaurant bars - except that it is where many locals come to sing karaoke. Later in the evening, they often have live mariachi music. But there is also a huge second room in the back not visible even from inside unless you go to the back, to the right, and through a door - that is even larger. On Friday and Saturday nights, this is where people come to dance salsa - to a live band (which doesn't start until close to midnight so most people coming also show up pretty late). The music is really good. The dance floor is quite large - but not well taken care of. There is recorded music to dance to playing before the band arrives and in between their live sets. People come and stay late! Apparently, this place also offers free salsa lessons - sometime much earlier than I got there so I'm not sure what is taught by who when. The music played is mostly salsa, with occasional bachata, and a little cumbia, and a very rare merengue. Not much else. The front section was still full of people who came for karaoke and/or mariachi music when I left - so I assume they were enjoying themselves as much as those in the back room where I had been for several hours. Various drink specials are offered - with beer (by the bucket) seeming to be the most popular. read more
