This place is off the chain, if you're looking for night life, massive engagement, singing, and boatloads of entertainment. The staff were crazy - funny, dancing, up on the tables, line dancing in the aisles - all while serving everyone with a smile. We had really great service here from start to finish! Came in as a recommendation from my dad, although we came during lunch time on a weekday and it was pretty quiet. I had my 11 year old with me, so I enjoyed this. The place itself is really interesting to look at. I'd highly reccomend using the bathrooms here just because they are cool. El Squid Roe! I spend my weekend in Cabo San Lucas, and decided to stop at one of the hot spots that my friend mentioned. El Squid Roe was quite one of the most unhype bars/clubs i've been to in Cabo. They are EXTREMELY pushy with buying shots or drinks from the bottle girls, and none of them seem to even look like they were having a great time. Every two minutes, it'd be hey you look bored take a shot! for $5.... It was just not it, and they'd play tic tac toe with you, if you lose, you automatically own money. We ended buying two buckets of beer, at about $90 USD. Not bad, but the service was not good, we don't have a bottle opener so the waiter kept forgetting about opening the bottle multiple times. They brought some dry popcorn in every table as well. Dance floor was dead, and people barely danced, it was more of a hangout the whole night. They also have other floors above, I believe two or three. The top floor was a lot more people, but like I said just random girls pushing you to buy shots. Overall, would never come again. read more

This place is actually the whackest place that I have ever been to, the employees, drinks & overall vibe was actually crazy in here. First of all, we were told that there was no cover and that a minimum of $20 was to be spent, but they were so persistent in upselling on buying wristbands because we were told we would be able to get unlimited drinks,.. The "unlimited" mixed drinks were watered down & premade. You can only go to the bartender at the very front of the place. The bartenders purposefully ignore you or have conversations with one another, which obviously isn't amazing bc you're on a short 1 hour timer. When asked for drinks, they are so rude too. They "ran out" of juice and tequila at 12, when they close at 3 am lol. The bottle service girls are also rude and can't take no for an answer and I 100% agree with reviews saying they don't even seem like they want to be there! They actually get so mad and annoyed when you say no to their $7 shots and keep insisting you play tic tac toe. The music kinda sucks too tbh :/. This is one of the popular clubs in Cabo is like a MexTex 3 floor dive bar. It cost $20 (USD) cash to get in, which includes a free drink with it. The drinks are ok, but certainly loaded. There's also opportunity to order food. It's a fun and funky atmosphere. They played lots of popular songs from 2000's to present. The dress code is casual. There are VIP tables in the 1st and 2nd floors. The MC and hostesses are wild! If you order a shot, be prepared to get grabbed/ slapped lol. Other all, it was fun! I went here today at 9:40 pm. The guy (tall skinny guy with orange bandana on the second floor) OVERcharged me 100 pesos dollars for a drink when it was 85 pesos. I asked for change back and he said the menu is wrong and it is 100 pesos. We asked another server if the menu is correct and he said yes it's up to date. We said he overcharged us 15 pesos and he said so you really want it?? It's only 50 cents in USD.. Well yes because that's what the menu was and we felt wronged. Husband and I stopped in after going to Bagatelle and the one thing about Squid Roe is that it's consistent. You go in and it's going off. The music is pumping and people in general are just having a good time. The staff does a good job of telling you to watch where you step so you do take a Peter Pan off the balcony into the abyss. I like that. A lot of places in Cabo and Mexico in general disregard safety. Look at Giggling Marlin. It's a pile of ashes now. We grabbed two drinks and stayed for about 30-40 min and were happy as usual. Don't get too caught up in whether it's perfectly clean or the doorman is a bit rough. Perhaps we showed up too early, but not too much was going on, and the drinks took a while to come. They were also a little pricey and didn't really have an alcohol punch. This is a tourist trap as many have said. I wish I saw these reviews before we went in. We came tonight, being on vacation, and the lady server with the abs walked around each table carrying around a bottle of mixed cocktail shots to pour. We didn't want any shots and told her so. We were enjoying our cocktails we ordered already. She told my friend she will play him tic tac toe and if she loses she will pay the rounds. Well, what she seemed to mean was that she will play until she wins so that we pay up for the shots we didn't want. She didn't win 6 times with my friend and went onto someone else in our table and wouldn't leave until she won. She was getting frustrated and moved on to challenge my husband to the game. She wouldn't leave so he played and lost. The bet she had with my friend somehow she passed onto my husband and she poured us all shots for "winning". I specifically said I didn't want a shot. She said it's too late I poured it so you have to. After we took the very diluted cocktail shots, she charged us $24 since she "won" on what was her 8th time playing tic tac toe. Very tacky way to get our money for something we didn't want and it immediately sucked the fun from our experience in Cabo. It was the first bar we went to and we immediately went back to the hotel (before 10pm) because all the other bars are "probably like this too" Do not come here if you are visiting on vacation or for a bachelor/bachelorette party. We decided we wanted to experience the clubbing scene when we visited Cabo, so we decided to check out Squid Roe. We came on a Saturday night and paid $20 for cover which included 2 drink tickets (there was also the option of $10 cover with no drink tickets). This felt like a good deal initially, but the drinks ended up being super watered down and it just felt like we were drinking juice. Not sure if their drinks are always like this, or if they just purposefully make the drinks weaker when you use vouchers. Nevertheless, we still had a great time. The layout of this place is unique, with many different floors on top of one another in the outline of a rectangle. The center of each floor is hollow, so you can look up or down and see the floors above or below you. Because of this, the top floor makes for a nice spot to people watch. The sides of each floor are pretty much narrow walkways, so it's difficult to congregate or dance on the sides. But the ends are generally more open and here you can find the bars and dance floors. Plenty of tables and seating spread throughout as well. The restroom was interesting to say the least. Each stall is designed to look like a phone booth...but the doors were so short that anyone walking by could easily see you doing your business. Overall, we had a good time here, but not sure if I'd go out of my way to come back in the future. read more

I been disputing a claim with Squid Roe for the past 3 months over a duplicate charge (at least what I thought initially was a duplicate charge) I only found out recently after they provided "receipts" to my bank in order to "resolve" and keep the money they wrongfully took from me. Once they provided the receipt I notice they fabricated one of the receipts by copying it and tipping themselves totaling the amount to $120. Keep in mind BOTH receipts, it looked nothing like my own handwriting. On the second receipt, they charged me $120 (on my bank statement), but they tipped themselves $55 on a $70 bill totaling to $125. So not only are they tipping themselves but they cannot do math either (?) I will not ever be coming back here seeing how other people have also been wronged by Squid Roe where they were also being charged more. read more

Don't come here for dinner. The food is awful. I mistakenly read another review that suggested this place was good. It's definitely a fun party spot, but the food is literally awful. If Dollar General sold fried calamari this is what it would be like. You have to see it to believe it. Imagine a thick, soft, fluffy, half inch thick layer of white bread surrounding a mysterious pencil lead thick core of something. The surf and turf was cafeteria quality. The steak was tough and grizzly. The lobster was overcooked. There was a small side of mashed potatoes. it's a good thing I actually like instant mashed potatoes, because these mashed potatoes were as instant as they come. And a true sign of terrible quality food is microwaved bread. The toasted garlic bread was fresh out of the microwave. You can tell it comes out of a microwave when 45 seconds after you bite into it it turns into a virtually impenetrable rubbery substance. The food service was outstanding. The server was fast and friendly. All but one of the employees was properly wearing a face mask. Unfortunately, the one not wearing the face mask was the woman trying to push the jello shots. She stopped by my table three times unmasked. As I started this review, do not come here for food. I fully expect to be sick later. read more

We did leave early as it isn't much of our scene but the line was just getting longer as we walked out. The ambiance is loud and the decor is a lot to take in they have a fighting ring as a dance floor. The service was great everybody was attentive and made sure we had a drink!
