The convenience store is run by a local family, but the restaurant is a separate business. The convenience store owners were very kind, and helped translate my order to the restaurant worker. I ended up just pointing to the photos of what I wanted. The steak was average and I would pass on putting it in your torta or burrito and just go with al pastor. It is located in a strip mall on Hart, which we can get to literally by rolling down the hill from our home on Cooper Mountain. It looks like one of those hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurants, of which Oregon has plenty, and it is. But the food... Oh man, the food! It is so good! My wife and I have our favorite dishes (she likes birria tacos, I love the wet carnitas burrito), and when we have company in town, we always manage to introduce them to the flavors of La Parrilla! Last night was no excpeption, although this time was a first for us. We went in and got a table. It's a small place with a bar and a few tables, but we got seated and ordered our food. Service is always friendly, delivered witha smile, whether you are picking up food to go (our usual method) or not. Because we were eating in, my buddy and I both got margaritas. I really love their green sauce, very tasty, but could be a bit hotter. They do have a (probably habanero based) red sauce, but I find the heat overwhelms the taste. (I do love very hot, but I am more about the taste). The tacos are made fresh and four tacos take about 8 to over 10 minutes, depending on how busy they are. There are lots of choices for meats; carnitas, pastor, asada & chorizo are my favorites. Canned soda is $1, but not the coldest sodas around. All in all, a very yummy place to get great tacos!
