Aronoff stage
Sheila G.

Sitting in love seats ready to see Chicago. Can't wait. Humming of voices 10 minutes to go before the play. Comfortable seats and easy restroom access. Nice view of the stage.

Aronoff is a gorgeous venue, we saw Diana Krall recently at the P&G theatre and absolutely loved it. Can't wait to catch more amazing shows in the future.

Great location with close parking. This is a great venue to see a show. I recently saw Hamilton here. The only reason for 4 stars, not 5 is the lack of enough restrooms for a popular shows. The line during intermission was insane.

We arrived early to pick-up our tickets. Once we were up the steps, we were able to purchase merchandise and drinks with ease. Kelley working at the concessions was super nice and helped with suggesting a few drink options. My only complaint is how small it feels. It wasn't close to selling out and it was hard to use the bathroom during the intermission. Also, when you're sitting there isn't much arm space. Still a great show, though!

Fun little exhibit to check out made of canned goods. Funny to the naked eye it doesn't really show up

The Aronoff is a good venue. The process to gain entrance was simple and quick. The lobby areas on each level offer plenty of space to relax before the doors to the theater open. The seats are a little tight. We sat in the very last row and were still able to fully enjoy the performance. The theater is surrounded by a myriad of restaurants, which helps make for a pleasant evening out on the town. Indoor parking is available just a block away. I've been here twice and will gladly return in the future.

Huge open entrance space, great for gathering with friends/family before going into the theater! (03/22/2025)

Great large open central gathering area outside of the actual theater and stage. Plenty of space for people to gather before heading to their ticketed seat; it would be great if the Ohio Theater in Columbus had a bigger central gathering space like this. Inside the theater, there's two balconies above the main floor with special side seating; looks to be perfect for a special night out! Teared seating, which made it fairly easy to see in between spectators the row in front of me. Beautiful ornate detail all around, both on the walls and ceiling. The The sophisticated sculpturing in front of the side balconies is glam in the best sense. There's tons more events - theater, sports, food, concerts, etc. - going on throughout downtown Cincinnati every weekend (a HUGE bonus compared to Columbus!), so there's ample parking all around, both garage and metered street all around using the Park Mobile app. Cincinnati has a phenomenal nod to the past and present and has done a fantastic job preserving that time-honored tradition!

The Aronoff is one of my favorite theaters in Cincinnati. I love the ambience and the variety of shows it offers. The shows change I believe every few month and are always top rated. Pricing varies. You can find great deals if you don't mind sitting upstairs but can also find good ones sitting closer to the stage if you are on a budget. My husband took me to see Hamilton. Oh my- it made me so emotional. The cast and stage was simply amazing!! A must see!

I've been here a few times. Years ago I saw a few musicals here. My most recent trip was to a comedy show. Tommy Bunz had been in Louisville a few weeks prior but I couldn't get seats close enough so I decided to make the trip to Cincinnati. Besides, if we're ever going to find the bodies that Garth is hiding, we need to check everywhere. Where are the bodies Garth! The families deserve to know. I like this venue a ton. Like... touch my camera through the fence a ton. Other venues like this tend to seem large and spread out. While the Aronoff has plenty of seats(around 3,000 I believe), it is one of the more intimate theatres I've been in. They definitely built this venue utilizing what space they had to the fullest extent. The check-in process was great. You don't have to hunt for the merchandise because there aren't many places for the merch booth to be set up. The lines for drinks and snacks are efficient. You're not going to be standing in line for dozens of minutes. It kind of sucks that they didn't have any banana splits for this show... ay yayayay. The staff is also attentive. Sometimes giving you guidance even when you haven't asked. You should try it. Act like you're walking into a wall... they'll stop you from hurting yourself. The place is clean. Clean enough that there was a guy taking a drink of water out of the restroom faucet. Although, that could've been because this was the 'I'm Coming Everywhere' tour. Tom has been spreading himself all over the country so the dude could've just been washing his mouth out. I was in the third row and I have to give kudos to the staff during the show. There was a guy obliviously wasted in the front row. Luckily, he passed out and was sleeping by the time Tom came out. As soon as the staff saw him, they sent in a medic/other staff to bring him out. You would think that would be disruptive. It wasn't at all. It didn't even derail Tom. He worked it into his act and kept right on going. Masterful. There's another plus for this venue. It helps that this venue is in the middle of downtown. You can make a day of your show at the Aronoff. There are plenty of museums and places to eat in the surrounding area. If your favorite musical or act comes through here... don't hesitate to attend.

What a beautiful space and surprisingly large seating area. The stadium style seating in the orchestra level provided great visibility of the stage. When purchasing tickets, only a few have partially obstructed view. Snacks and drinks available for purchase before the show and during intermission. Street parking is limited considering it's downtown location but nearby lots are available. My husband and I saw Tina last night (Tuesday) and it was wonderful! Will definitely recommend catching it; it's playing until Nov. 6th 2022. Looking forward to more shows in the near future!

My fair Lady was AMAZING. 4TH ROW WAS PERFECT place to enjoy the play without neck strain. Seats were comfortable. Bathrooms were clean. Such a special evening. Everything was so good. The singing. Costumes, sets. Great job!

Last night was my first show at the Aronoff Center ... and I'm already planning to see another play soon! My fiancé and I attended opening night of Broadway in Cincinnati's "My Fair Lady," and loved everything about it. Before the show even began, we were struck by how big the theater felt ... but once the curtains were drawn, it felt much more intimate. The set design truly drew us in, and the singing and acting was superb. The sound and lighting too just built upon the story ... this was easily one of the best shows I've been to. Because it was opening night, the Aronoff Center was extremely busy ... I wouldn't be surprised if they'd sold out the theater. We had to park a few blocks away and walk ... but still managed to get to our seats with about 10 minutes until showtime. I would recommend planning ahead if you're coming to any show, regardless of the day of the week. Even though the Center was busy, security checked our vaccination cards and bags quickly and efficiently. Everyone was masked up, per the theater's requirements, which did make me feel safe in crowd so large. I can't wait to check out another show at the Aronoff, sooner rather than later!

This place is beautiful! Went to see Hadestown as it was one of the closest available options this year and it seemed like everything was fun really way. Fun volunteers to help you get where you needed to go. Great people at the drink/merch stands. And did I mention how beautiful it is?!?!

This place is just as impressive as it was when I attended college in Cincinnati. The venue has held up remarkably well over the years.

Three theatres. We attended Frassati at the middle sized space, still fairly large. Enjoyed the show immensely.

Great venue but the seat cushions have worn out. We have Broadway tix, but sitting on a seat with no padding sucks. Spend the cash!

Ask the Community - Aronoff Center

I just bought tickets for Hamilton at the Proctor and Gamble Hall in Cincinnati. I am taking my daughter who uses a wheelchair. Our seats are Left Loge seats J 102 and 103. Will these be good seats? We are driving several hours and are very excited.

There really isn't a bad seat here. I've been everywhere but the box seats and have had no issues! Congrats on scoring Tix! Enjoy the show!

What brand of moscato do they serve? I had a glass and it was phenomenal and I want to know what brand it was.

Probably Barefoot brand. I would call the ticketing office, they would possibly be able to help you get in touch with the vendors.

When the previous owners decided it was time to call it a day, it was thought by many that this historic structure would go the way of so many others, i.e. succumbing to the fate of the wrecking ball, or simply by dying a slow and painful death from neglect. However, in the fall of 2011, The Drama Workshop (TDW), a local theatre group, purchased the building to make themselves a permanent home. Having produced community theatre in this part of Cincinnati since 1954, and having squeezed in performances at the nearby Westwood Town Hall Recreation Center for years, TDW jumped at the chance to have a place to call their own. I had seen several productions put on by The Drama Workshop while they were at the Westwood Town Hall Recreation Center, and made it a point to come out for their first production at the new location. It was Snoopy! The Musical, in October of 2012. At that time, the Glenmore Playhouse was still pretty rough as a theatre. Plywood filled in the gaps where the alley gutters and ball returns used to be. Temperature control was minimal (it was a warm October that year), and the "bowling alley acoustics" left many in the audience leaning forward and cocking their heads to hear the actors. Seating was of the old metal fold out chair variety sitting level on the floor. While there were sidewalls and a lobby, you could easily see it's bowling alley past. There was a lot of work to be done. Since then, that is in less than 2 years, the transformation here has been amazing. The temperature control problem is now gone, thanks to a new HVAC system. Acoustic panels and a few other additions have greatly improved the sound quality of both the actors and the effects. There is a professional lighting grid, beautiful new carpeting, and everything has been painted. The lobby has been redone. But the most dramatic improvement to the theatre has been the addition of padded theatre seats, complete with armrests, that are affixed to sets of movable risers, stadium style. A great improvement which I believe came from a local university that was replacing their seats, and the change here has been dramatic. For the patrons: they are comfortable, they are inviting, and due to the tiered rows, they improve the sight line to the stage immeasurably. Additionally, and a benefit for both the patrons and the theatre, is that the riser sets break apart and can be arranged to fit the set design needs. Some productions use a straight row style like you see at a movie theater, with everyone facing forward towards the elevated stage. Some are in-the-round style, with the set being in the middle at floor level, and the seats being arranged in groups on three sides of the set. Great flexibility for the production team, and great variety for the audience. Although they are limited to about 99 seats, due to minimum exit requirements, the building has room for a lot more, when the time comes. There is still work to be done, mainly reminders that the building was built in a far different era. Entering the men's restroom is like squeezing college kids into a phone booth. The odd, wedged shape room doesn't lend itself to accommodating the "accommodations" very well. There are plans to move these at some point, however, which will be a welcomed change. The steps into the building are not ADA friendly, but I understand a ramp is pretty much next on the list of things to do. Probably the most impressive thing of all is that this is done mainly by volunteers and by a few paid craftsmen. Local contractors have donated, or else provided at significantly reduced rates, the time and some of the materials to help get this place done. Volunteers are the main source of labor. A hardcore group of weekend help has made this what it is. Ah, local theatre and community involvement at its best. I am just a patron, but I go to a lot of theatre, so I reasonably well know of what I speak. I attended 88 theatre productions last year alone throughout the local Cincinnati area. I can't think of a harder working or more dedicated group of people than those who have banded together to save this beautiful old building, and turn it into this local gem. I highly recommend coming out to see what they have done here, and to watch some of the most enjoyable, affordable theatre that one could hope to see anywhere. I have also reviewed The Drama Workshop on Yelp!, so take a peek at that if you would like a little more insight into the productions and into TDW themselves.
