Every other coffee shop would have given me a black espresso with ice. I was given a frappe drink loaded with sugar and whipped cream. Not everyone can or wants coffees loaded with sugar. Also, your drip coffee tastes like it was from the gas station. We know you don't roast your beans locally, that's fine, but it's obvious the owners don't know anything about coffee. They have multiple doors to enter which was confusing, so I had to double back to the counter where you actually had to order drinks. The interiors are spacious. inviting, and modern, as evidenced by the nearly 30 people I saw camped out at tables working away at their laptops or holding video conferences. They also have a nice outdoor patio space as well. I went with an order of a half sweet iced mocha latte. There's an additional charge for any added flavoring, so the drink set me back over $7 (before any tip). While I don't mind paying a bit extra for a great drink, I felt it was very average in taste and probably would have received better from a chain coffee shop. Service from the staff was friendly. I felt this is one of those more modern workspace coffee shops that's lost in a bit of an identity crisis with some market and prepared food items. Perhaps I'm just not their target clientele given they seem to have a loyal following, but felt Chestnut Coffee House was a pretty average and slightly overpriced drink experience for me.
