The anchor store is the second location of Kowloon Market (the first location is in Chinatown). This was a much anticipated opening in the area. There's also another location of Equator Coffee in this plaza. I think it's Equator's fifth location. There's also a Gong Cha there (Ottawa's third Gong Cha). There will be a few restaurants opening up here (not yet open during my visit): Crust & Crate, Wings Up Takeout, and the aforementioned Windbell Sushi. Other businesses in the plaza that I haven't mentioned yet (and are of little interest to me personally, lol) are: Chicco Optical, Friendly Cuts, Vitality Physiotherapy, Scholars, Haiyan Dance Studio, OYF Kanata (Yoga), I.D.A. Pharmacy, Groove Dental, Pawllywoof Pet Grooming and Helpful Neighbour Convenience Store. It's pretty much like any other suburban plaza, haha. Although I should mention, it's owned by Urbandale, so it has that Urbandale look and feel to it. So it's different than say a Riocan-owned plaza or a SmartCentres-owned plaza ;)

Since the closure of the nearby Rideau street McDonalds, there has been fewer suspicious activity around, which is a shame as I enjoyed the entertainment. Whats a nice day at the mall without someone pulling a racoon out of their coat? Regardless, they have a New York Fries, which automatically gives it much more value. Always nicely decorated as well. Beware of the first floor as some report getting asked odd questions by even odder individuals.

The deals were really good too Old Navy was solid as usual and even Lululemon had that 2 for $100 leggings thing. They have QR codes everywhere so you can just scan and join their rewards/app on the spot and get coupons while you shop which is kinda nice, didn't feel complicated. The vibe was cute too there's like a fire pit in the middle (even though it was sunny lol), music playing, and I swear I smelled mini donuts at one point with some bangers playing lol Also random tip but if you're signed up with Lindt you can get free chocolate bag for your birthday (and like up to 30 days after). Only thing is the food area is super small, like a couple spots, so don't expect a full food court. But honestly you won't really care because there's a lot to walk through. Would go back for sure.

Van Houte maybe for a rare treat. Tommy Hillfiger but nothing fits right as I have an athletic build so... I just look. I love Softmoc, I do have too many shoes and boots but that's allowed! My ultimate spot there is Chilly Chiles as I love hot food/sauces and the staff there are great. I love the kitchen store too but I have wayyyyy too much of that stuff as I love to cook and already have fancy glasses. Mid week is best to go for service and parking - weekends, I avoid.

He pulled us over and used me as an example after I said no anyway, like 2-3 times. Used my mother and sister as examples like we were dolls and didn't even fix her hair, the serum totally messed up my hair and my curls fell. Only reason it's bumped down to 3 stars. Do not recommend the KK hair products, mad expensive. $50 for hair serum!?!?!? He attemped to push my mom, who could NOT get it, and pushed more eventually gave up and gave dirty looks. Other stores are great, found the book I was looking for at Cole's too.

As per my previous review, Merivale Mall is still a sad little mall, but it is a little less sad…read morenow that a large Marshalls has opened up there. The Marshalls here is not as good as the Marshalls at Trainyards but it's not bad (if you like these kinds of stores, which I do - brand names at discount prices, count me in!). There were big renovations to this mall leading up to the grand opening of the Marshalls. It's no longer dark and grungy. It's bright and very spacious now. Although the lack of tenants makes the mall look rather sparse. There's still a Farm Boy, Shoppers Drug Mart, and Sportchek. T&T Tailors is still there (and they are still great). I think the shawarma place is gone. There's a Pizza Pizza instead. There's a rug store, a tanning salon, a hair salon and a cell phone accessories kiosk. And a handful of other small stores. The weird thing is that some stores are not accessible through the mall. You have to go outside to get into the store (i.e. Payless Shoes). There's lots of free parking, which is always a plus. I only go here for Marshalls, Farm Boy and T&T Tailors.

TL;DR/The Short Version: Ottawa's second T&T Supermarket…read more Smaller than the first, but still has lots of cool Asian products. The Long Version: This T&T Supermarket location is in Hazeldean Mall in Kanata. It's where the Laura's Your Independent Grocer used to be. It just opened at the end of October 2024. We went the beginning of November 2024 so it was still brand spanking new. I took my parents here to check it out and see how it compares with the other location on Hunt Club. Our consensus was this Kanata location is smaller with less selection than the original location. We were happy to visit and see what it's all about, but since the Hunt Club location is closer to us, we'll continue to go to that location instead. The bakery section at this Kanata location is much smaller, as is the prepared foods section. I also noticed that they use sesame seeds in a lot more of their sushi than the Hunt Club location. As someone who can't eat sesame seeds and can rarely buy prepackaged sushi, this made me sad. They have dim sum and Chinese BBQ and also an area to eat the food you purchase. It's good court style seating. I did notice their impressive selection of imported Lay's chips. Their selection was comparable to the other location in this regard. I doubt I will return unless I'm already in the area for another reason because it's far from my home and I rather go to the Hunt Club location, but I think it's great for Kanata residents. And it's breathing some much needed life into Hazeldean Mall. Lots of free parking in the mall parking lot. (200)

The inside of the store is clean, the lighting is good, there's a lot of parking & direct access by bus. The only negative I would give to this store is that the aisles are a bit on the smaller side, and I can see this getting really busy. I went on a Thursday, it wasn't too busy but I was still having to navigate around people and bumping into a few others. They also have 2 restaurants that we do not have in Ottawa, being La Bella & La Boeuf and a pizza restaurant called Enoteca Monza Pizzeria Moderna. The fam and I were planning to eat at one of the two, but opted for some greek food and french fries in the food court. The mall did look quiet promising, but besides the stores listed above, we basically ended up just walking around. It's a great mall for mall walking and we were pooped by the end. We did hit up the Lindt store where they have so many different truffles that we had to buy a few. I would avoid coming here at lunch time during the week, as it was packed with nearby students heading to the food court. Parking was plentiful and easy. Just avoid the Costco parking lot. Bilingual service was non existent and we were spoken to in French in all the stores we shopped in, even though we were clearly corresponding in English and engaging with associates in English. It was an eye opening experience, especially being 10 minutes from downtown Ottawa. I assumed service would be billingual? Brush up on your French if your planning on shopping here. I was in between a 2.5 stars but rounded it up to a 3. It's an A-OK mall, but I would not rush back.

Even on very busy days, you will find parking. It is right off the highway and close to the bus station, and the major boulevard around this city. There is every type of store you could wish for (age/gender/style). Something I found impressive was they have a room for parents to change their babies. There is even a microwave! The mall is kept clean and has great wifi if you may need it.
