I was let go from a job I had held for 13 years in Jan 2020, right before the COVID issue began and made a tough job market that much tougher. I was uncertain how to present myself since I wore so many hats and felt a bit undefined in any one role. After getting to know me a bit, Donna and the team at Personal Touch helped re-write my resume and cover letter based on my marketability and then re-worked my LinkedIn profile based on the newly formatted "me" structure. Donna coached me in interviewing skills and even held a mock interview to practice for specific jobs. She was responsive all along the way to any email or phone questions I had about upcoming interviews and jobs and within 3 weeks of hiring them on to help me, I was gainfully employed. I sincerely thank them, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for work and who doesn't want to settle for just any job.

One thing I wish I had known beforehand is how important it is to have a clear idea of the specific type of role you're targeting before starting the resume process. During a job search--which can be incredibly stressful and uncertain--I didn't feel that my experience or challenges were fully understood or acknowledged. Navigating a job search takes strategy, reflection, and support, and unfortunately, I didn't feel there was much empathy offered throughout this process. If I could do it over again, I would work with a career coach first to gain clarity and direction, before investing in resume services like this one."

Megan coached me into focusing on "what's good" and it changed everything. I've always believed we're all lifelong learners and I'm constantly working to change the way my brain asks itself questions to focus on what's good. We had four sessions, and I'm planning on continuing with him since what I was able to accomplish in just over a month surprised both of us! One of the insights I gained working with him was that being in action with my primary vision is itself motivating and confidence-building. Doing nothing just kept me spinning in fear and doubt. But getting content out there, noticing how people responded positively, and feeling the gratification of producing something worthwhile - from my heart and soul - was a big boost to my energy and motivation.
