The moment you enter this restaurant, you are greeted with the neon sign, "Long Live Bacon." You…read moreknow what that means? Yes, they put bacon on everything. Sinful but worth every calorie! Plus, who doesn't love Bacon? Seriously. The place is small and cramped. There are a couple of high stools and three small tables under the "Long Live Bacon" sign. If you need to use the comfort room, you have to enter the secret room called ABV. It's a speakeasy and I will definitely talk about it more in another review. The food here is perfect for after a long night of drinking with friends. They offer a breakfast menu where you can customize your own plate. Want a bacon and egg sandwich made with 2 waffles? Go for it! But, in my opinion, the definite Must Try here are their Hotdogs! All their hotdogs are bacon-wrapped and deep fried! YUM! I recommend the Chili Dog (Php220) and the Kimchi Dog (Php190). Next time, I will have to try their Tater Bombs (bacon-wrapped potato tots)! But, it's always sold out when I arrive! Huhu! I can't wait to see what Lazy Bastard will "baconify" next! :D

As someone with a student budget (because I am a student), my jaw dropped when I saw Lazy Bastard's…read moremenu. They sold hotdogs at Php 300-350. I heard about hotdogs sold at Php 100 but never at these prices. My siblings and I decided to be adventurous and tried their hotdogs anyway. It was in Jupiter street and we found parking around the area. We saw their big sign that said "Bacon & Burgers this way". When I took a bite of their hotdog, I was enlightened. I tasted the hotdog sandwich's full potential. I experienced Lazy Bastard's BACON WRAPPED hotdog in a bun and topped with a load of toppings. I particularly found their Con carne and parmesan hotdog sandwich to be their bestest. On my next visit, I'm planning to try their AVOCADOG. On the other hand, I found their burger to be okay.

Xander's is a new diner just outside the subdivision where I live. The restaurant is setup to make…read moreit look like an American diner. In fact, the main attraction of the place are their burgers. Most of their best sellers are sandwiches of monstrous proportions. The Xander's Deluxe is one of their best sellers and rightly so. It's basically their own take on the quarter pounder. Then there's the Xander's Boss which is basically a triple of the Deluxe. Most of the stuff on their menu is American. As I said, it tries to give off a middle class diner feel. It even has milkshakes and banana splits. It is by no means cheap, but it's not really expensive either. The price is justified given the servings and the quality of the grub. This is probably the sort of place where I would hang out with a couple of my mates on a weekend if I had nothing major planned for a couple of beers and a massive burger while watching something on their TV.

I'm so glad because more interesting cafes and restaurants are opening in Las Pinas. While it may…read morestill be a small feat compared to what our neighboring cities (Muntinlupa, Paranaque) have been doing, it's nice that Las Pineros are also coming up with new places to eat and not just the usual fastfood and restaurant chains. Xander's menu comprises of the usual diner food - burgers, chicken wings and Nachos - food I love. Their burger selection was impressive; the Bumblebee's BBQ burger was good, although the OC in me was a little disappointed with the fries that went with it; it doesn't have to be those large-cut ones but they always have to look fresh and crisp, not saggy like the ones they served. But I'm forgiving since they did mention that they're still in the soft opening phase. The Buffalo wings we ordered was delicious too. They also have a variety of rice meals and pasta on their menu. And shakes! I didn't order one the last time I was there, but some of my friends said they were really good as well as the ice cream. There's definitely room for improvement, but this diner seems promising. I would definitely be back to try their shakes, and I hope they won't disappoint me with the fries next time.
