Great service and quick response. Will the service tech was very knowledgeable and friendly. He replaced the torque spring and added second spring for safety and convenience. Price seems fair but definitely worth the service we received. We will definitely call back for future services and refer friends and family. Thanks again! read more

Will called me right away and asked what was going on. After I described the situation he surmised that my opener was only in need of reprogramming and that he could walk me through it over the phone. A five minute phone call was all it took. The world needs more honest contractors like Will. I highly recommend. read more

I was blessed to have Will replace my tension spring after it broke and he even adjusted my track. It feels rare these days to come across a genuine individual with integrity that isn't looking to scam or upsell you. Will is that person, it was an absolute pleasure talking with him and having him come into my home. He preformed the work quickly at a great price. If you want it done right and not get scammed/gouged by Private Equity firms who have bought out these Mom and Pops, go with Armstrong. read more

Great service, they corrected the issue; changed the part and price was very reasonable.

I sent a request on Yelp for help with a garage door repair. I received a couple responses via the Yelp app; however Armstrong Garage Doors was the only business to call and leave a voicemail. In the voicemail the technician said he would be in my area within a day or two to service another home so he wouldn't mind stopping by afterwards to come and provide a free quote. We had already received another quote from another business that charged a service fee just for coming out. Based on that, I agreed for him to come check out the garage. He assessed the issue and provided a quote that was significantly cheaper than what the previous business had quoted us. The work was done within a couple hours and the technician was very professional. We would definitely refer this business to a friend or neighbor! read more

My garage door spring broke at 4PM on a Saturday. I called Will Peterson and he had it fixed by 5:30. He was at the mall with his son. Dropped off his son and came and fixed it. UNBELIEVABLE SERVICE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! And a GREAT price !!!!!! No one could be better !!!!!! read more

I've used Armstrong Garage Door for over 10 years. Rocky serviced our door today and did a great job. I will continue to use them.

Got up and left the house like any morning, but came home early around noon to find out my garage door wasn't opening. When I got inside and took a look, I noticed the one large spring that supports our double unit single garage door has split in half. Since we are renting our home, I notified the landlord immediately, but due to the cold weather and the fact that our drive way is a steep hill, I started looking into getting someone out right away on my own. I first called the company that installed and serviced the doors for the owners. Normally they are "quick" to help, but this time i was told they were unavailable until Friday late afternoon at the earliest and it was now only Tuesday at noon. This wasn't going to work for me. So I got a price quote from them and began calling many other places. Most places I called were definitely able and willing to come out this day within 12-24 hours of me calling, but their prices were easily $200 - $300 more than what our normal service provider quoted. So I kept on looking until I came across Armstrong. I spoke directly with the owner. He assured me he could not only get it done same day, but it would only be 30 mins max to repair and that he would do it for only $15 more than what our normal provider would charge without knowing what their rate was. He was also willing to work with my landlord to get paid so i wouldn't have to go out of pocket for the broken spring. So not only was Armstrong over the phone the BEST rate, but he was understanding to the situation and was willing to make the fix! When he arrived onsite and saw the steepness of the driveway, he couldn't for the ilfe of him understand why the normal service provider wouldn't have make an exception and come that day knowing the current weather conditions and the home itself. With the icy conditions in the forecast, trying to get in and out of my car on my steep driveway is an extremely dangerous task especially for my two little children. When they arrived onsite, he was courteous, he was respectful and he was fast to get to work and complete his task. He was extremely friendly and we felt safe in trusting his workmanship. He cleaned up after himself and handled the request and the repair extremely fast and with excellence. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND their services to ANYONE!!! read more

I randomly picked Armstrong off of Yelp listings, as my garage door opener broke yesterday and I saw that they appeared to be in my part of town (SW), thinking they'd be more likely to be able to fix me up the same day that I called. I called and left a message at ~7:30 AM, and received a return call within an hour. The technician was at my front door probably an hour or so later. Quick! I didn't know what was wrong with my unit, other than being able to see that the chain was hanging low with lots of slack; attempts to trigger the door would result in something spinning in the opener but no chain movement. The technician took a look at it and was able to tell me the root cause: the spring had lost tension such that it was not pulling up against the door strongly enough anymore (he demonstrated this by showing how hard it was allowing the door to slam down), resulting in enough chain tension that it sheared off a little sprocket gear in the opener (he found the gear itself on the floor a few feet away). He told me how much it would cost to fix the opener's sheared off sprocket. He said that the spring I had (which he correctly guessed had been put in within the no so distant past...2-3 years ago, in this case) was a galvanized 'lifetime' spring that they do not like and stopped installing, as they lose tension and need to be adjusted every few years. He said they could adjust it to get it tense enough again...just like $30 for that. He siad that would work well, but that I should check tension (via the door drop test) periodically, as it would likely need such an adjustment every 2-3 years. I asked what they installed today if not the galvanized ones, and he said the older plain (non galvanized) springs, which would go longer (~10 years) without issue. I asked how much a new spring was as well (189, if I recall). Given that there would be a minimum charge (greater than the $30 adjustment) for such changes down the road, I figured I'd bite the bullet now and have them install a new spring right now. The work was done quickly; perhaps 45-60 minutes and he was finished. He was a very friendly guy and took the time to explain what the problem was, and seemed very honest and did not give me any sort of hard sell: his original suggestion was the $30 adjustment route, rather than the markedly more expensive (spring replacement) I ended up requesting. Given that the equipment is now 10 years old, I half expected the company to try to upsell me on a new opener, giving me a pitch about the design life of these units, blah blah. Not this guy -- he said this unit was high quality (a standard 1/3 hp Chamberlain chain drive, just the original builder-installed unit) and was very well installed with good bracing, and would be great after being fixed. Fast, friendly, honest, no hard sell...if something happens down the road, I'll ring these guys. read more

We have used Armstrong more than once. Our spring literally broken into multiple pieces a few years ago and they were out the same day. Then just this week I called because my garage door was cracking. Weighing out the pros and cons and we decided to get new panels installed. They installed the panels today and now my door is working better than ever. I'll never call any other door company read more

Wow! What great service. I called Armstrong todayl hoping for them to come my aide quickly, but I didn't expect such honesty and helpful service. They walked me through a few troubleshooting steps over the phone, without even coming to my house, and resolved my problem! They saved me over $100 and saved my precious time. I don't know many companies anymore that would pass on an opportunity to make a quick $100 for a simple diagnostic visit. Thanks Armstrong, you've definitely proven your honesty to me, and earned a new (Very Impressed) customer today! read more

We recently had our garage door break for the second time in two years. We had the original company put in a new garage door and motor and continued to have issues with the door until it finally went off the rails...literally. Call the company to find that they were out of business (no surprise) so was frantically searching for a new place to repair the door since it wouldn't shut and our garage was exposed. I stumbled across Armstrong Garage Doors and Will. He was able to come out the day of the break and close the door until he was able to come back the following day to repair the entire thing. Thankfully, we didn't need a new door, just a new motor that was a proper fit for the door we had been sold. I highly recommend Armstrong Garage Doors if you need a repair or an install. Will will give you a fair deal and is honest about what you need for your home. Cheers! read more

Armstrong doors came out and replaced the full spring. The one the home builder used was cheap, and they don't use that kind anymore. It took a little longer, because he was not expecting to do a full replacement, and not all of the parts were available. Showed up on time and the install was completed quickly. read more

I'm a Realtor and very particular about using top notch vendors for myself and others. Will, the owner of Armstrong, is a great guy and will treat you well. Fair pricing, excellent service, he is the best I've found here in Austin. He did my new Garage door, opener, and has given me great service - A+++. Highly recommend! read more

These guys are absolutely the best. Will came out and found that the reason my garage door was not closing correctly was due to a photo sensor that was obstructed. He didn't even charge me a dime. Not too many folks that will do that for you. He has earned my business! Highly recommended! read more

I was very pleased with their work. They worked with my home warranty service. I had a problem with my garage door not opening (the spring & opener were damaged) and they came and gave a quote the same day. Will gave good advice and was honest. He did a good job on the repair. He also worked with my home warranty company to get the opener replaced. Their price is also fair. I would definitely recommend this company for garage doors. read more

I used their service 2 yrs ago at my previous home and was very please with the service and honesty. I have moved to another home and called them if they can replace the backup battery on my garage door opener, Mr Armstrong was honest enough to advice that it's a simple task and can be done by homeowner instead of being charge over $100 by anyone. Instead of taking advantage of the service he just advice that it can be done with a screw driver. Thank you MrArmstrong for being honest. Your service is highly recommended! read more

Well, my big family and I have been used Armstrong Garage Doors for 3 times and it's all been great price and honesty. A couple days ago, my garage door spring was broken. I called him and tried to see he could stop by my house the same day and he did. I told him up front that he installed the spring for me more than a year ago and he told me not worry and setup to come to my house around afternoon and I live pretty far in SW cornner of Austin. After complete his work, there's no charge on his work. That's amazing for me. Thanks for great service read more

Had appointment scheduled this morning between 9 and 11. Scheduled this appointment on Monday morning, today is Thursday. Called to follow-up when I hadn't heard from them. After looking at scheduled appointments and obviously not finding mine, the guy stated that the guy was tied up on another job, you can call another company. Such poor customer service. read more

Absolutely phenomenal experience. I had a garage door that wouldn't close, and when I described the problem to Will the technician, he said he could help me over the phone. After just a few diagnostic questions and some trail/error, I was able to fix the garage door on my own. Though it may be a temporary fix, the phone call was completely free. I can't tell you how impressed I was with the knowledge, but also the customer service to skip the service call and help out a customer in need. Honestly, this kind of experience will make me ALWAYS call Armstrong for my repair needs, recommend them to friends, and brag about them on Yelp and Facebook. Seriously, I am completely impressed. read more

This is a long due review for Armstrong G Doors. I used them at least twice in the past 3 years after switching from a big chain store installer and always happy with their work. The last service was to replace my 9 years old dead garage opener motor. Will is very professional and calm. On time as he promise and did the work just as necessary. read more
