Megan Olson, one of the in-house jewelers, quickly assessed my need and suggested a custom solution which could be constructed that afternoon. She showed me the materials, explained how she would connect the safety and carefully measured so it would fit securely. The price was very reasonable. The work was completed within the hour. I've been wearing the watch for almost a month since the work was done and the safety is very secure and works perfectly! I was pleasantly surprised they could accommodate an out of town walk-in customer and accept a rush job so late in the day. The watch safety provided peace of mind during the rest of my travels. My only regret is that Truman Jewelers is not located in my home state! My trusted local jeweler retired and I wish I could find a company like Truman's in my area to replace my past jeweler. I've since established the trust, and that plus a will, power of attorney, and health care proxy were all executed with a different law office, specializing in estate planning for $3k.

They are very friendly and listen to what you are looking for when it comes to picking the right piece. My first experience here had to be about 10-12 years ago. I had purchased an inexpensive Claddagh ring in 9K gold on a trip to Ireland back in the late 1990s. The ring cost about $150. My Claddagh was really special to me because I'm part Irish and it was purchased on a vacation. The ring came with a created emerald (fake), but I somehow managed to knock the stone out and lose it. I went to a couple of area jewelers to get quotes on fixing this inexpensive stone and ring. I was shocked by what some people wanted to charge me! I came to this shop and John charged me a LOT less than what the other stores quoted me for a repair and resize. Fast forward to the current day, my Claddagh ring looks great and the stone is still securely in place. I think this speaks to the fact that John clearly does quality work. I stopped in this week when I was back in Albany. I assisted my friend in purchasing an engagement ring here. It was still a pleasure to come here and no pressure. We were shown various diamond options and I think the pricing was fair compared to the expensive mall jewelers. While I was in here I talked to John and Lucy about my own engagement ring. My husband purchased it elsewhere, but it's a 6 prong Tiffany style setting. I had bent one of the prongs about two years ago. I was lucky, John fixed it for me that day, it only took about 10 minutes. After my ring was repaired, cleaned and polished, it looked GORGEOUS. He did such a nice job fixing it up for me. I went to see my sight impaired grandmother the next day and she even commented on how she liked my ring. My mom also loves coming in here too and has had a couple of great visits with jewelry repairs. She also found John and Lucy to be very pleasant. I especially like that this is a family owned and operated business. I moved out of the Capital Region in 2014, but I always recommend this spot to my friends when they need a jeweler.
