Rural delivery in rural Nova Scotia is appalling at the best of times. As someone who generally has at least one package every month coming in and another going out, I have considerable experience with sending and receiving hundreds of packages by mail, locally, provincially, across the country and around the world.
ATS received goods delivered from IKEA on/about Sept. 16th and 18th, sent from FedEx, as a sub-contract job. From the 16th to the 25th--when another company delivered the goods--ATS was incompetent, non-communicative, and quite unapologetic for their inability--actually, refusal--to deliver the parcels I was intended to receive.
There were initially 15 parcels; at some point, an ATS employee dumped 5 of them at the local post office. Thankfully I got those parcels. It took 9 more days to track down and get another delivery service to go to ATS, pick up the parcels they simply were not delivering---for no reason; in fact, they sent confirmation of delivery to FedEx that they had delivered the goods.
Although I kept phoning and telling them to deliver the parcels whenever they wanted to--at least 5 times in one week--they refused to correspond with me, and refused to deliver the parcels.
This is also not the first time I've dealt with the incompetent idiots who work that ATS terminal in Dartmouth. They have always made me wait at least a week before delivering whatever I have ordered.
In the end, TDR made the delivery. They seemed to have no problem doing so.
ATS really deserves zero stars. They were unresponsive, indifferent, and in the end, malicious, in simply refusing to deliver the goods they were paid to deliver.
I reported their incompetence to FedEx, and have been told they will not be paid. That's the only way to get better service; don't waste time talking to the local yokels at the local delivery location; contact the national/international carrier, and put your complaint in writing. Document every call, exchange, etc., to prove your case. Then whenever you order something, refuse to use the inter/national carrier if they use local delivery systems. That's what I do now. All my materials now come through Canada Post, or I do not order it. Put these private carriers out of business. This example of ATS is only one of many many many nightmares that I have experienced using private systems. Use Canada Post--even if you have to pick up your parcels, it's better than the run around these guys give you. read more
