Over the phone and by email, Shelley handled all of my long-distance requests (I was in the States and my daughter is in Halifax) with patience, and always in a timely manner. She accommodated our need for overnight storage, and worked with our timing to get out of one place and into another. The day of the move, which happened during the NS wildfires, the company's timing got a little derailed, through no fault of their own. When that impacted my daughter's move, they proactively waived some fees as compensation, and worked with her to make sure that they could still get the move done in time. Shelley sent over an extra mover, and when we suggested doing the move right into the new place, without the overnight hold (we were able to get her into the new place earlier than expected!), Shelley rolled with the punches, and pivoted to execute the move in one day. The extra mover (which we were not charged for) and the whole crew worked quickly but carefully, and got the move done in record time. Overall, it was tremendous value for what we got, and the move was done faster than we expected! Being far away was stressful for me, but Shelley made sure that everything ran smoothly and that my daughter was taken care of. I would highly recommend Gentle Giant for your local move. JnMarie Transport is the exception. Shak and his team provided an accurate estimate based on what i described within 30 minutes, and sent the same description to other haulers. Other quotes we significantly higher and i stuck with Shak. He arrived and updated his quote based on a site review and the job at hand. I was very surprised by the updated quote which remained much lower than i expected based on past experience. Shak and his partner did a fantastic job way beyond what i could have asked for and even came back to help my put my garage back together with the items i was keeping. He also delivered the useable items to Habitat for Humanity and Value Village with only a small portion going to landfill. The delivery man always just leaves the package on my door steps without even ringing the door…read morebell. WE ARE HOME!!! Please just ring it a couple of times. Compared to their competitors, UPS falls short on delivery time, tracking update, and customer service. Their help line is full of loops and ways to prevent you from speaking to an actual person. I have called plenty of times to see what is going on with my package and where its currently at. Because amazon keeps using UPS for free shipping, UPS continues to be a pain in the butt.

There was one guy in the shop, just chilling on a computer, I'm sure searching completely related sites. Was very quiet, and disinterested in talking to me. I am not quite sure how picking your package up at these places should go.. but it seemed pretty normal. Asked for my ID. Everything seemed kosher.. and I was on my way with package in hand.
