I think I have found my breakfast spot for Tuesday's at Mona Vale. It is so relaxing, warm and homely. You sit inbetween all these homewears, armchairs (hence the name). Which if you are like me, is absolutely lovely but dangerous at the same time. Bought myself a beautiful vase/pot this morning. The food is yum. I had sourdough toast with vegemite and a side order of avocado! (Might sound weird but it is so yummy). The portion size is awesome, so much avocado. And the green tea is hot and comes in tea leaves and you are the one who can decide how strong or weak it is. I'll be there next week and the week after.

Soft shell crab burger with chips to die for.

It's always a bit confusing combining a shop with a cafe, but at least there was lots to look at as we waited for a table at this busy place. Portion sizes were generous, and really tasty combinations. I had the soft shell crab burger. Really crispy, perfectly fried wholw crab (a little daunting to look at but great for the 'wow' effect) and although it looked as though it was going to be dry, it was succulent and zesty with a delicious wasabi mayo. The only complaint I had was the green juice (whilst refreshing) was pre made, which means no changes/additions, and really, it'd be pretty easy to make fresh juice to order. Slackness for no reason- people ordering green juices are probably going to be the ones who appreciate a little effort. One friend had the green chicken and roasted veges, which actually looked like the whole vege garden. Other friend had super yummy banana smoothie which came in a carafe. Uber yuppie. Definitely taking more ppl here but have to remember not to check the prices... ouch!

I went to Armchair Collective last weekend with my big family. Although we were 8 we were able to sit at a big shared table. On a sunday I will recommend an early start for breakfast i.e 9am. The food was great and the coffee was amazing. Prepare to spend a min of $28 dollars. The best choice was the Chef Eggs Benedict . The staff is very friendly and the decor is delightful.

Great location and unfortunately prices go with it. But food was great. Big plates, fresh produces. Come early if you want a table.

Great place all round…read more Smooth tasty coffee with a few different bean choices for those who want to splurge. I got a cappuccino and it was awesome. Extra points for having powdered coco on top instead of chocolate. Ordered the poached eggs with bacon and spinach which ticked every box a bacon and eggs should. My mates got other things on the menu which looked just as good. There is also a sweets cabinet for those coming here in the afternoon or who can justify eating a Cronut at 9am. Sadly I am not one of those people and so could only look longingly at the cupcakes, brownies and Cronuts- but I am determined to be back to get one! The atmosphere is really relaxed and welcoming. All the tables are recycled spools (I think that is what they are called??) and the chairs have padding made of coffee bean sacks. It's well put together and works for this industrial, beaches location. All the staff are heaps chilled and friendly which only adds to everything. If you are after a be good cafe in Mona- this is the place!

Their coffee is excellent - smooth and nutty without any hint of bitterness. We also enjoyed some fruit toast. They have lots of GF options. Friendly baristas and cool, industrial-style decor. We decided to use this as excuse to visit the Collaroy on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. We popped into Outpost Espresso, a short walk from the beach. Perfect for a coffee or a bite to eat, pre or post beach visit. This cosy cafe is popular with locals and visitors alike. Serving the ever popular Campos Coffee with Single origin varieties from Guatamala and Columbia. The staff are very friendly, on first name basis with many visitors and chatting to the customers as they wait for their take away coffees. The menu caters to people wanting to dine in or those in a rush after a quick bite on the run. There are a range of cookies, cakes and sandwiches. There are all day breakfast options including chia, pudding and granola. We ordered ricotta on toast. Served on sour dough from brasserie bread with cinnamon and honey on top, simple and tasty. The also do a range of healthy bowl options. We ordered the tuna bowl. The flavour was nice, the bowl made with a mix of quinoa, almonds, sunflower seeds carrot kale and tuna all mixed together with two eggs on top. Great little cafe for a good coffee, friendly service and a bite to eat.

I have a sour cherry and raisin toast ($4.50) and enjoy the unexpected flavour burst of the cherries. Its bustling with people and the two tables outside are packed I turn around to admire the view of Long Reef out the window, then turn around to admire the lilies in the vase with the big leaf wrapped around it - nice touch I think. There are also T2 teas available for sale in an old antique display that has a seat that hand-wheels out. Plain luggage tags that have been hand stamped label all the products. Verdict: Great coffee, great atmosphere, good food and great location.

Stroll like a dandy down Dee Why promenade of a weekend morning and you'll see a few cafes with…read morezero people in them and one with all the people in them. Literally all of them, like some giant baby has been using them as toys and is jamming them all into one room of a huge Barbie play house for it's own infantile amusement. It doesn't make any sense, only, it totally does. The cafe is Seachange. and the reason it's so beloved by locals is three-fold: the servings are huge (no fleck of steak on a giant white plate here), they're happy to change absolutely anything on your order without any pissy whining or "No, the chef would kill me" type excuses, and the staff and management are unbelievably friendly. Wulf (sp?) made sure our group got a table inside to protect the little baby we had with us from the sun, and even though he was run off his feet stopped by the table a few times to drop jokes. I had the acai brekky bowl with banana and strawberry and bircher, at $15.90 it's the healthiest way to start the day while still feeling like you're eating ice cream. The Local with tons of bacon, eggs, and a potato rosti is also a winner, as is, oh, pretty much anything on the menu. When you're done, slop across the road and roll about on the beach like a walrus. Trust me, it's great.

The coffee ($3.80) is enjoyable (excellent latte art by the way!) and the view is simply perfect. I love coming here when catching up with friends. Their toasted Turkish sandwiches are still my favourite ($15 and a large portion). Nothing better than consistency and they have it here. Highly recommended!!
