There was value to be found and treasures to be had. I found myself a nice Elvis statue for my home in Mississippi here at the armada market in Gaylord, MI. Highly recommend it for the hunters of vast treasures and some good baked goods to boot at one of the booths in the middle. People selling stuff were willing to haggle and were super friendly. About two hours from Toledo. I kept seeing this as an huge flea market that shouldn't be missed. It was more like a country market with foods, animals and plants. There were vendors with a few other options, even a few record booths. It end early by 2pm. Most vendors still did not want to bargain. I sorted through someone's trunk of in marked albums. He said they ran from $5-$10. I picked 5 and offered $5 per album and he had a fit, screaming and shouting. Usually you get a counter offer. So I just left those albums behind others were much nicer. I don't think it's worth the drive, although I found a few other nice shops on the way back. It's very hilly. Wear your walking shoes. read more

I love the Armada Flea Market. Been going there since the 1970s with my parents, but get there early. By 11 AM half the vendors are packed up and gone and the other half are packing up. I've been there on days where the weather was perfect, and there had to be hundreds of customers walking around, but the vendors were still packing up and leaving. I don't get it? I love the Armada Flea Market, love to spend my Sunday there, I enjoy it so much. I have found many treasures there. If you get hungry or thirsty during your walk through the many aisles they have food courts there and the food is good. There is so much to look at that by the time I'm 3 quarters of the way through it they are already packing up to leave so make sure you get there early and don't be afraid to barter on the prices, a lot of the vendors will usually take a lower price. There,s something there for everyone. The only one thing I don't like is a few of the vendors smoke marijuana and it stinks so I just pass on by them, but if you don't mind the smell then please do check them out. I try to make it there every Sunday and make a day of it as long as it's not raining, on my way home I stop at yard sales and after that stop at a restraunt for lunch. Awesome local flea market. They have a great farmers market. Flowers, fruits, veggies, baked goods, honey, syrup, etc. I get all my seasonal produce and flowers here when I cannot run into detroit to Eastern Market. They have some garage sale type stands but also have some good vendors with some great finds available for those who are willing to pick around a little. I love the couple there that play a keyboard and sing they are hilarious and add to the festive nature of the market! Make sure to support them with a buck or two. read more

I have been going to the Armada Flea Market since I was a kid. It is always fun to see all the different stuff at great prices. This was the first Sunday in 4 decades that I set up a table. My son came to help and we were both busy the whole time! I sell Tools that I have tested and reviewed so most have only been used one time for the review. I then sell some of them to help with my taxes. I was shocked at how fast things were moving. Yes, I know it is one of the busiest weekends but I would have been happy selling ten good tools along with some small ones. As it turned out we sold over 40 tools. That is amazing. I am able to sell at a good discount but this was such a great day for us. So if you are looking to set your own table up this is the place to be. The spot was only 30 bucks and for this much foot traffic that is unbeatable. They are open every Sunday and Tuesday. I have always found the best time to show up is about 7:00am Most of the venders are set up around then or shortly after, plus you get the best stuff. read more

This seasonal, open-air flea market (operating Tuesdays and Sundays) manages to maintain a fine balance of collectibles, kitsch and crap. It is a sizable layout with pleasantly wide aisles. There's typically about 250 vendors. Admission is free and so is the adjacent dirt lot parking. The vendors closest to the parking lot typically feature a sort of farmer's market: fruits & vegetables, baked goods and pets for sale. The bathrooms and concession stand are conveniently located close to this entrance as well. WARNING! As you venture past the concession stand your ears will be assaulted by the musical stylings of a life-like older man and woman immediately to your left! The smarmy, overtly patriotic, country-esque, heavily-Elvis-influenced, off-keyed caterwauling is fittingly accompanied by a preprogrammed easy-chord/rhythm bank Casio keyboard. This is only made all the more ridiculous by their awkward, off-the-cuff repartee with the passing patrons and their "adorable" children. (Honestly, the first time I witnessed this, I started looking for the hidden camera. Think: the Will Farrel & Ana Gasteyer SNL skit, The Culps.) This "music" does serve a purpose though: it propels you into the waiting vendors and makes you appreciate (even more) good music. read more

I don't know why I don't go more often...I'm so close. I visited on Sunday, and I'm going back again, this coming Sunday. Seriously, if only for the fresh produce! I bought a cabbage, that was larger than a basketball for $2...a bunch of other really fantastic deals too! We had a lot of fun walking through all the vendors to check out their treasures. The true Armada gem. This place has EVERYTHING from good bones furniture that needs some love to your run of the mill old Trolls and creepy porcelain dolls. It's a great place to get old license plates, vinyl records, and vintage jewelry. Plus there's all the fresh, organic produce you could ever ask for and a ton of friendly faces willing to strike a bargain. Come early, most of the vendors are gone by noon in the summer. It'll take at least 2 hours to see all the sights and grab a hot dog. read more

I have never been coming from Livonia. We got there about 11:30 am and by noon everyone was packing it in. I was really disappointed that we had to "rush" through all the vendors and probably missed several. We have a flea market near us in Romulus but they stay there until at least 2-3pm. I think by leaving so early the vendors might be missing some good customers. Don't think I will be back...:( read more

One of the most mismanaged businesses I've ever observed. Opens at the ridiculous hour of 5:30 AM and closes ( runs out of customers) at 11:30 AM on Sundays only. One Men's flush toilet in the whole place. You have to wait in line to use it or risk your health in filthy outhouses. Food , although cheap, is terrible . Day old pastries and a hot dog gave me a stomach ache later. Vendors are selling mostly junk pulled out out of junk piles and most of them look like they just crawled out of the gutter. I moved to Armada a year ago , have been there twice and have decided not to go back. The puppies, kittens and rabbits for sale in cramped conditions didn't sit well with me either. read more

Okay if you're a customer but sucks if you want to sell. If you can't afford to own a van to transport your things, there's a dealer/parking attendant who will yell at you for bringing anything from a second vehicle to sell even though they don't charge you by the car load but by the size of the spot you sell in. Other dealers had second vehicles getting loaded on pack up so other people had second vehicles full of stuff but this "regular" dealer hates to see new people with different items for sale because he gets jealous of the sales you make because you have new stuff to see for the people who come to the flea market a lot. Not sure if I'll go back as long as the gestapo is there. read more

My toddler and I go to this every weekend when its open. Its a great time we always seem to find something, antique potato chip containers to lawn equipment. We even get fresh corn and asparagus. And you cant forget the SNL duo singing in the front. If you get hungry there is a small vendor in the middle of the market that serves Taco In a bag,( a small bag of Doritos with meat, cheese, lettuce) I was a little scared at first but you have to try it. Its a great experience, good exercise, great deals and there is always a ton of yard sales on the way out to the flea market read more

This is a great place to treasure hunt. We come from Windsor Ontario most Sundays and have a great time. The vendors are very friendly. The bathrooms are clean, the food area is clean and nice if u need a rest. The Sunday market is better than Tuesday but go befor 10am for a great selection..have fun read more

This is one of the best places in metro Detroit to find bargains on antiques, collectibles, used video games, flowers, produce, etc. Almost all of the vendors will barter with you on their prices. Best if you get there early. read more
