In the interest of full disclosure, I am friends with one of the people that is behind Arlo & Moe, but even if I didn't know Jules, I would be in love with this place.
Why?
Amazing coffee
Gorgeous, simple food
Orgasmic cakes
1950's tunes
Clean, vintage inspired design
Friendly service
The plan was to meet David and Sarah for brunch at 11. I had missed David's leaving drinks before he goes to Afghanistan for a couple of months and wanted to see him before he left and we all wanted to go support Jules since A&M has just opened- so it worked out.
I had a white americano while I was waiting for my friends to arrive and I immediately knew I was in good hands.
For brunch, my hung over self decided to skip any pretence of eating something healthy and had the Sexy Toast with scrambled egg and chorizo. This toast is seriously sexy and not just because the bread has a French name- campaillou. (A sour dough with a open, irregular texture.) It was toasted Goldilocks, "Just. . . right. . ." The egg was moist and the chorizo gave it a nice bite.
After eating and chatting and digesting we were compelled by Jules bringing out a chocolate Guinness cake and a carrot cake under glass cake domes to each have a slice. It would have been rude not too...
Oh. My. God. (Claps hands and jumps up and down.) Enter superlatives HERE.
Along with fab food, coffee and cake, there is a friendly buzz. There was a mix of folks like me and my friends and cute parents with cuter kids. It's a happy place.
After sitting there for two hours and feeling a bit guilty when people came in looking for a table, we reluctantly left. Two coffees, scrambled egg and chorizo on toast and a slice of cake was 11£ and some change.
David tweeted later:

Wonderful brunch at @ArloMoe with @treefroggirl and @Potty4pink. Could have stayed there all day. I'd be fat and happy :) #se4
Happy and fat indeed. I will be back and I have already planned what I am going to have when I go...
