The drapes were hung so beautiful and the black chandelier is gorgeous. My favorite part is the bathroom. It has pink floral wallpaper and it's so quaint. The whole room was filled with such detail and intention. Michael is such a wonderful cook. There were homemade scones and cinnamon rolls served with eggs, bacon or sausage and they also had little parfaits. I had to have everything because it smells so delicious! Totally worth it to stretch my waistline. Joana mentioned they plan to open a bed and breakfast in France! With the wonderful couple hosting, you know I'll be there! Learning about the history of the Victoria from Joana was surprising! I'll leave yall with a cliffhanger so you can go and check it out or go back and hear about it from Joana or Michael.

The B and B itself was welcoming, tastily decorated, cozy and comfortable. The pool and hot tub looked inviting although we didn't have time to try either. Killer breakfast in the morning with plenty of food. Fruit was the best and so fresh and delicious. Pastries were equally as fresh. The presentation and vibe of the dining area was nicely done. Breakfast order was cooked as requested and yummy. I am sorry we were able to spend more time, not only in the area, but at The Victoria. It takes a special couple to own and manage a B and B and Michael and Joana have it mastered to a fine art! You won't be disappointed to add this to your list of places to stay if you are in the vicinity.

"Get Lucky" - Daft Punk with Nile Rodgers…read more We spent the weekend at Embassy Suites in NW Arkansas, not for a Razorback game, but to see my musical hero/icon/legend Nile Rodgers and CHIC, along with Billy Idol. Nile Rodgers has been on my bucket list, so it did not matter that we had to travel from Hawaii all the way to Arkansas via Dallas, (a 5.5 hr drive each way) then fly back the next day after the concert. I chose this place because the hotel is right across the street from the Walmart Ampitheater (Walmart AMP) and walking distance. Keep reading toward the end for a BIG SURPRISE. SERVICE: Mariah was at the front desk checking us in, and she was from Hawaii! Very nice girl. We got texts daily asking how they were doing. Housekeeping came by really late, like after 3:30 PM after we got back to our room from sight-seeing so we turned down the service as we still had nice fluffy towels. THE ROOM: The 2-room corner suite was really nice and spacious and clean. It came with a bar, microwave, fridge, full sized mirror, two queen beds, a chaise lounge, TVs in both rooms - and a cracked window in the anteroom which was taped with green masking tape. The bedroom faced the interstate, which was noisy through the walls. I could hear the cars/trucks speeding by, but I was tired so it was more like white noise. The A/C was loud, but at least it worked. Didn't really hear any neighboring room noises. BED: a bit soft, but clean and comfy. Pillows didn't smell like BO, like most places I've been. PERKS: free hot breakfast every morning, different fruits. Fresh Omelet station. Lots of choices. Coffee was strong and good. Very good. Lots of seating, even in the bar area in the morning. One of the best free morning breakfasts in any hotel I've ever been in. PARKING: $10 a day extra for hotel guests. Lots of open spaces. Embassy managed to keep the concert parkers out on the day of the concert. BIG SURPRISE: I got to meet Nile Rodgers!!! He was trying to get breakfast when I interrupted him. His plate was still empty but he graciously agreed to take a photo with me. I also went back after 30 minutes and we casually waved at him and he called us over to his group. He threw his arm over my shoulder and gave me a hug, he held my hand in another photo. He was one of the nicest celebrities I've ever met - very humble and genuinely friendly. I was over the top dying inside!!! The man I came to see was staying at the Embassy Suites! It's no surprise that musical celebrities may be staying here, especially if they are playing at the Walmart AMP, as it's right across the street and convenient. So if you want to see your favorite musician at the AMP, book a room at the Embassy Suites and you may get lucky!! Return factor: YES. In the future. Maybe. Don't think Nile is going to play in AR again any time soon (he is usually in Europe).

We planned a trip to Bentonville with some friends to come and see the Crystal Bridges Art Museum…read more Everyone we spoke to recommended that we stay at the 21C and we certainly did not regret the choice. The hotel is centrally located right off of the town square and within walking distance of Crystal Bridges, The Momentary and pretty much every place we wanted to go the whole weekend. In fact, the only uber we took was to the Coler Mountain Bike Preserve to hike one morning. One interesting thing of note was that our friends arrived the day after we did and after they checked into their room they sent us a photo asking if our room looked the same. Our room was lovely and spacious and swathed in neutral colors. Theirs..... was not. I joked that maybe their room was an art installation. Turns out that it was! We asked about it at the front desk and room 333 is an art installation that the computer assigns at random. It was only odd that they weren't tipped off when they checked in. Still a large lovely room and a funny story to tell when we got home. Good restaurant/bar inside of the hotel and a great gym that is even outfitted with Peloton bikes. Would happily recommend this hotel to friends that were planning a trip to Bentonville.
