Last night, there was a party with a live band (particularly terrible drummer BTW) right under our room until after midnight. It was so loud in our room that we couldn't watch a movie, talk to each other, or sleep. We could only put in earplugs and wait for it to be over. I could still hear all the lyrics through the earplugs, that's how loud it was. We are leaving a day early, even though we have already paid for tonight's room, because last night was so miserable. The hotel has effectively made this first floor room unusable on nights when the club right under it is open (W-Sa), and we were certainly not informed when we booked at their full price rate that this VERY LOUD party would be happening basically IN OUR ROOM UNTIL AFTER MIDNIGHT. Just ridiculous. I would not book the New Orleans Hotel first-floor suite again and would not recommend it to anyone else. As far as what the hotel should do to improve this problem: do not rent this suite out on nights when you are having loud parties right under it, and refund my money for this unusable hotel room.

It's a little secluded, which we really liked. You do have to drive a little to get to some of the more touristy areas, but we knew that, and we thought it was nice. It was lovely being away from the more trafficked areas at night and sitting on the deck looking at the stars. We were there for four nights, and our check-in was completely remote and easy. We received detailed instructions via email, including where to find the key. It was very private, which was perfect. The rooms are not cleaned during your stay, unless you call and request it, but that is all explained in the provided instructions. There was a phone number where we could call if we wanted fresh towels or anything else, but we were fine using the same ones, so we didn't need to call for anything. This is important because, while there is an office, it was always locked and we never saw anyone there. You have to call if you need anything. The photos on the website look gorgeous, but they also look like they might have been taken a long time ago. The place could do with a little updating, but it was clean. The bathroom is tiny - just barely big enough for a sink, toilet, and shower, but no tub. If you want a bath, you have to use the jacuzzi in the middle of the living room/kitchen/bedroom (kind of awkward placement, to be honest). Our only maintenance issues were minor. The blinds on the front window were broken, so we just left them closed while we were there. Also, the toilet stopped flushing after our first day. The chain inside the tank broke, so we just had to take the lid off and flush it manually. We could have called them to fix these things while we were there, but we didn't want to take a chance on them coming at an inconvenient time, so we just left a note when we left.

An easy drive or you can catch the trolley right in front of the hotel. While it's not fancy, the room has what you need. The bed is not the most comfortable I've ever slept in but it's not bad either. The fridge is a mini but a large model! You can get a pretty good bit of stuff in it. A microwave and coffee maker with a smaller bag of local coffee. A larger screen smart TV with Roku and you can sign into any of your services here. Some are provided. I'm not a huge fan of the lodge decor (I don't like animal hides) but it is cozy and I appreciate the theme. A nice little table in the room as well. The shower/toilet area is very small but fine and the shower has good water pressure. The water temp did fluctuate a bit. My guess is because it's an older hotel, but not so bad that you couldn't make it through your shower. There's not really anyone on site if you need something. They leave some supplies (like towels/toilet paper) in an office area where you can grab some. There were definitely no fancy amenities but there is a salt water pool and a sitting area with a fire pit. Plenty of parking in the lot when we were there. Overall, I thought it was in a great location and was definitely worth the money we paid. We spent very little time in our room and mainly just slept and got dressed there so we didn't need much extra. If you prefer more luxury, this might not be the place for you but you'll also need to increase your budget. For anyone who wants a nice place to stay but doesn't need extra fancy, this is a great deal! I would highly recommend!

Wow! Super surprised with this one!…read more We selected this at random on a late Friday afternoon while road tripping through Arkansas. Made the booking through a website and were given a room number and key code for its electric door lock. No contact or interaction with staff which doesn't bother me in the slightest. This is an older motel that had been lovingly renovated in a sportsman / lodge theme. They really put in the effort and it shows. Most furnishings appear to be hand made from sawmill lumber and the room was cozy and inviting. They used the "retro" style microwave and refrigerator as well. In front of each room are two patio chairs and a table. There is a large covered deck area near the main entrance with a fire pit feature that we didn't visit but looks like fun. Only minor downside was the bed itself appeared to be from a fish camp as well. Metal bolted frame that creaked anytime you moved slightly. Distracting but not enough to cost them a star. Change the bed out and would give you a six star review!

The drapes were hung so beautiful and the black chandelier is gorgeous. My favorite part is the bathroom. It has pink floral wallpaper and it's so quaint. The whole room was filled with such detail and intention. Michael is such a wonderful cook. There were homemade scones and cinnamon rolls served with eggs, bacon or sausage and they also had little parfaits. I had to have everything because it smells so delicious! Totally worth it to stretch my waistline. Joana mentioned they plan to open a bed and breakfast in France! With the wonderful couple hosting, you know I'll be there! The B and B itself was welcoming, tastily decorated, cozy and comfortable. The pool and hot tub looked inviting although we didn't have time to try either. Killer breakfast in the morning with plenty of food. Fruit was the best and so fresh and delicious. Pastries were equally as fresh. The presentation and vibe of the dining area was nicely done. Breakfast order was cooked as requested and yummy. I am sorry we were able to spend more time, not only in the area, but at The Victoria. It takes a special couple to own and manage a B and B and Michael and Joana have it mastered to a fine art! You won't be disappointed to add this to your list of places to stay if you are in the vicinity.

Convenient location, cute and quaint, great breakfast, awesome staff!…read more I botched a reservation on AirBnB for another property (forgot to actually click through the last screen) and didn't realize it until the day we were supposed to arrive. We quickly tried to book on AirBnB and didn't find a place we liked. We ended up on Booking.com and found this little gem. The treehouses are very quaint. They are a nice cross between old school Victorian styling with modern amenities like deep tubs with jets, very comfortable beds, flat screen TVs and comfortable patio furniture. The unit we're in is small-ish, but a perfect size for us. Though the breakfast is up at the main lodge, it's a quick drive, or a longish uphill walk for those who like some exercise in the morning. The breakfast was very tasty. We walked into town in about 10-15 minutes. It's uphill a little bit, but it's a gradual grade. At night it was very quiet. We slept amazing. A special shout out to Pat who helped us get into the proper unit. The online booking was wrong, but she straightened us out immediately and got us into a unit more appropriate for us and our 2.5 year old (Unit #6). We did get to checkout one of the smaller units and though too small for our family, would be a great little retreat for a couple. It's pretty obvious these are the Treehouses when driving by, but it'd be nice if there was an easier to see sign out front. Especially when approaching from the north. Pat gave me great directions, so we found them pretty easily. The "second-chance-bridge" into the property wasn't open, but it was easy to turn around and take the bridge on Main St.
