She served us snacks and refilled our drinks, and narrated the sights for us as we cruised! They are both knowledgeable about the area and were wonderful tour guides through Annapolis and the Chesapeake. We will book a longer cruise next time. In my research, it's hard to find a boat that is NOT a fishing boat in the area. (Fishing boats are great, but are usually not for lounging and not that pretty.) Captain Jim's boat is super sleek and meant for cruising! More than enough space for 6 adults to spread out. You won't be disappointed!

This cruise line has two levels. The lower deck which is closed in. It also has a small bar area for drinks as well as non- alcoholic beverages. They sell light snacks such as chips, hotdogs, etc. I tried the Miles River drink. It was delicious. She made it perfectly. We decided to let the wind blow in our hair. So we remained on the top level which was open windows. The views were amazing. Just bring a light jacket because it gets a little windy on the water. I would like to do this again. Maybe during warmer weather though. Even though I still enjoyed everything about it. If you're interested in learning St. Michael's history while enjoying the calming waters. This would be perfect.

In short, Captain Drew was disorganized, lacked communication skills and was very rude. We booked this trip a year in advance and was quoted a price of $1200 for 6 people, and $200 any additional persons. Prior to the fishing trip, I texted the captain several questions to prepare for this trip, he either failed to respond or his response was delayed and lacked clarity. The lack of communication continued before and during the fishing trip. The captain texted me the day before the fishing trip at approximately 7:30 am and told us not to come down to Virginia Beach until we received confirmation from him that evening to ensure the weather was suitable for fishing. I had been checking the weather forecast for several days and it was supposed to be in the 70s, sunny and moderate winds and I conveyed that via text to the captain. What he attempted to do, but failed, is tried to get rid of our group so that he could make more money with another group of 16 versus 7 because the weather the next day was forecasted to be very windy. And the group of 16 was booked to go the day after our trip. When he realized we would not wait until we received confirmation since we were already in route, the captain raised the price to $1800 when he had already quoted us $1200 for the first 6 and $200 for any additional. I'm sure he raised the price to get us to cancel, which we did not do--sorry Captain More importantly, because he had to cancel a bigger group and stick with us, he failed to give us a safety briefing before departure. An epic fail as a Captain. At this point, he could care less about our safety. Money was priority for him. When we returned from the fishing trip, he continued to request more money, only this time, it was for two mates. Everything should have been all worked out before we ever pulled off of the dock. Bottom line, this man lacks integrity, he was rude, and was a male chauvinist. I would not recommend this company for a fishing trip.

He was flexible with scheduling our half day excursion and checked in the day before to confirm our time. He even suggested that we go out early to avoid a potential thunderstorm to try and ensure we got our full 5 hours. On the boat, he and his first mate were informative, and we rode about an hour into the bay to the fishing area. Once we arrived, they quickly got all of the gear out and explained the process. Then the fish started coming! After 3 hours, we had caught our allocation, and made the trip back to the dock. At the dock we took pictures and Captain Steve cleaned and filleted our fish.
