I found this massage school online and after flying in the day before, the hubs and I needed some TLC. Luckily, they had some appointments available for 1 hr massages for the both of us at the same time. The room is a large room where the tables are separated by curtains, which is fine but the room is a little cold so when you're undressed, you definitely feel the chill. It would be helpful if they had bed warmers to help with clients feeling cold. I felt that my therapist listened to me and asked questions but at the end of my massage, I realized he didn't listen to me completely about what was hurting. I explicitly stated that my lower back, shoulders, and neck were needing work. Unfortunately for me, the student followed the order of what the school teaches completely and didn't deviate, which meant he spent time on my shoulders and lower back, worked on my legs, and completely skipped my neck. I thought maybe the curriculum was different from every other massage I have ever received in my life but as the student walked me out, he told me that he had to skip my neck because he didn't want to be late for the next appointment. I understand being timely but it a client states a specific part is ailing them, focus on that and skip a different body part that isn't hurting them. I understand that this is a school and these are students, but listening to your clients and working out what ails them vs following the order needs to be emphasized. read more

School was refusing to help me get a form for my taxes, I tried going through the campus then the tech department because I couldn't get into my student portal they told me that I basically wasn't a student that my number never existed and that they couldn't give me my form and then completely stopped helping me and deactivated all my accounts to log into anything. read more

Due to medical information they what about my family!!! Hippa!!. I was only three credits left for graduation and internship and it's so hard to get back in because they're making it hard for me due to the fact of wanting detailed information how I take care of my father my special-needs son. all I want is to have a better life from my family. Went here for Medical Assisting and as far as the program, it was okay. I finished in October but the school is extremely unorganized. It took me months to get my CPR certification from them, after I had stopped going to the school. The staff was alright. There was constant teachers coming and going and there were a few good ones. Ms. Brown was amazing and so was Ms. Phillip. There was another teacher her last name was Davis and she was very pick and choose and was very entitled and power abusive to many students. She treated us like we were in high school and I really hope she changed because it made me hate that school. I don't know if I'd recommend this school just because of that but also because of the organization and how things were ran. My program was about $16K. read more

I used the Student Massage Clinic a few times. It was hit or miss. Usually, it was a MISS. I know the price is low since these are student but it should still be a great experience. It is not half of the time. Students often do not listen and follow what you are requesting and you have to continue to remind them what you are wanting. I guess they think "it's low priced so be thankful you are saving money. Also, Aubrey who works upfront, SUCKS!!! Horrible communication skills and that starts things out on the wrong foot. For-profit "colleges" shouldn't exist. They provide subpar education and are designed to bilk money out of vulnerable people. Externships are a joke-- you'll likely get placed somewhere that just needs extra help. The extern sites are not for training or mentoring to any degree-- they want an extra body there working for free. You can go to a Maricopa County Community College-- it's cheaper and provides a far better quality education. This place ropes you in by employing hardcore recruitment tactics like calling relentlessly posing as your 'friend that wants to see you succeed in life' (when in reality they are salespeople itching to close a 'deal'-- your enrollment.) It's all particularly systematic-- they identify your motivations, fears, and insecurities and exploit them to get you to enroll. I honestly don't understand how these "enrollment advisors" (or whatever they're called now) sleep at night knowing their job requires manipulating and lying to people every minute of the day. 'Boiler room' comes to mind. Imagine an advisor at ASU trying to appeal to your emotions to get you to enroll in courses. Does that sound weird? It should. Because it's not how real college works. I am absolutely embarrassed to admit that I graduated from this school-- I would NEVER list it on my resume, nor do I even tell people I went here. I threw away my goofy diploma years ago when I realized the viper pit of lowest-level healthcare work and the small, petty minds that permeate it was decidedly not my cup of tea. I enrolled during a period of my life in which I was not making the best decisions for myself. Since my time at this school, I'm truly proud to say I've earned an AAS from Glendale Community College, a BS from ASU and am currently working on a Master's degree at ASU. I guess the moral of the story is: Don't sell yourself short. Go to a real school because it matters! read more

I want to give this school ZERO stars, but that it not an option yelp. I attended in 2019-2020. Not only are their "professors" mediocre, I saw one downright yell and throw things at a student -- and called her an idiot. It is very unsafe too in the area/parking lot. I was helping another student into their car because she was in aa wheelchair, when I was physically assaulted. Police came, report filed. No prosecution, nothing. I asked this school to work with my work schedule. I work 10 hours a day Wednesday through Saturday . All other days I have off . They said "you go to school at night am I missing something ?" What in the actual fuck is wrong with people ? I work 10 hours a day as an essential employee, making sure everyone gets the necessary needs & yet it is impossible to work with a simple schedule & Instead of being understanding it's constant disrespect . One thing after another . I can't even go long term with this specific school will be the second and final time I'm going to withdraw. However the teachers were great ! When I first applied, I was not going to go to the Glendale location and was going to attend a closer location, but it was the experience that I had with Krysta Jones, one of the Admission Representatives, that changed that for me. What a great school, very worthy of my money and time. I finished the Massage therapy program in January of 2022. At the beginning of the program I attended morning classes with Ms. Angle, she is very sweet and patient we had another teacher that was nice too, but I would see Ms. Angle doing most of the teaching. We would get a substitute teacher every here and there and I decided to move to the night class for 2 reasons. One I would be very tired in the mornings (health reasons) and two I wanted to specialize more in pain management, seeing how detailed Ms. Tucker was when teaching just made me finalize my decision in doing so. I really enjoyed how Ms. Tucker and Ms. Alexis (night teachers) would put that teamwork between them every day in class. They nailed it! Ms. Alexis is such an ethical teacher with a lot of wisdom and loves teaching. She specializes in herbal medicine as well. I remember times where we would make mistakes (as expected) and she would always make any correction without making us feel embarrassed or insecure psychologically all teachers were well prepared and super friendly. Ms Tucker is SUCH a character in a good way. Outstanding teacher and super enthusiastic when teaching. She specializes in pain management. If I had to describe her it would be a "warrior". She is super funny but at the same time very strict and demanding, which to me made classes more challenging and interesting. We had no option than to give our very best. All teachers had a lot of knowledge in energy work as massage is more than rubbing on people. The experience was very positive and I was honored and very blessed to have finished the program feeling confident and excited. One of the best decisions I have made in my life. read more

I really don't know how to feel about this school. I thought it was an amazing school but when I got sick and was diagnosed with cancer I was excused from school and work from my doctor. When I returned back to school my teacher wanted to speak to me after class and when I told her I didn't expect to find out the news I did ya know so still shocked. And her response was "so will you still be going to school, we just want to make sure your Serious about school ?" I feel that was really wrong of her to even say that . If I wasn't serious I wouldn't still be doing the work from home while sick and still getting above 90-% in all my classes. Also when I emailed her my doctors note she called to talk to me and even asked me to go against my doctors note and just come into school. I know it's not their problem what I have going on but sheeesh at least ask if I'm alright. I thought in orientation the school provides student support . The school is also very expensive for such poor lesson plans they get everything from quizlets. The school also decided to lie and say it was in person learning then changed it to hybrid online learning in the middle of our semester. The schools are understaffed they have teachers teaching classes they have never taught before. I feel robbed of my education. I wish I would've known it was going to be changed to online and i would have applied to another college that was cheaper. I wonder why the school has so many negative reviews? As a recent graduate of the Medical Assistant Program at Arizona College, I look back at the journey that got me to where I am now. After choosing to focus on raising a family for 5 years, I decided it was time to move forward and begin to set goals for myself. Since the medical field always sparked my interest, I was influenced to pursue a medical assistant program. I enrolled at Arizona College in January 2013. I opted to take the evening program in order to better manage my husband's work schedule and my kids' activities as well as making time for homework assignments. It was a completely new experience and although it was tough, it is possible. Once I completed my school courses, I went on to do my externship hours at a pediatric's office. It was exciting to finally put my training to work out in the real world. When my externship hours were completed, I was offered a job in that office. I am currently employed at Sunshine Pediatrics. With the help of the instructors and the guidance of the career services department, I accomplished my goal of completing the medical assistant program and becoming employed. Given the right tools and the proper training, although it may be difficult, it is possible to reach your goals. Would definitely recommend AZ College to anyone looking into Health Care training. read more

I have been attending Arizona College since June 3rd, 2013 for the Medical Assistant program. In the past few months I have been here, I have enjoyed every minute. The teachers are OUTSTANDING and the curriculum is awesome. It is fast paced so be on your toes! You get a great idea of what it is like to work in the field and it is a great hands on experience! The teachers are or have worked in the medical field as well so they also are able to go into more detail as well. If you have questions, someone is always able to answer them right away. I have not had any problems attending the school. I leave to go on externship in November and I am feeling very confident that I am going to find a great place and have a lot of knowledge to bring to the table. 10 month drop kick course to be a Medical Assistant. I went to this school in 1997. The program was good and at the time they only had 1 teacher who did all of the classes so she was a little exhausted. The schooling cost a lot more then I felt it was worth. I don't expect free education by any means but the price I paid for only 10 months was a little steep. I did not approve of how they continued to let one student come back. She was mentally impaired and very eager to learn and be a medical assistant. Nice girl but her being mentally handicapped was not able to pass the back office requirements such as drawing blood and giving shots, and she was not understanding a lot of the administrative part of it. The school continued to let her come back and take her money knowing she would not be able to pass. When I was attending she was on her 3rd round of trying to pass. Her 3rd round of paying (or state paying) for the 10 month course. Do NOT get me wrong... I am not saying she shouldn't try I hold her in high regard for not giving up on her dream and letting her disability hold her down. But she needed more personal one on one attention then what that school had to offer. The school should have either provided her the quality attention she required or recommend a different program for her rather then keep taking her money. I felt it to be very cruel to her to keep her hope up of passing just to fail her at 10 months. The teacher even said mid program she would be failing her..... so why let her continue? I hope this girl was able to find a school that took personal attention to her needs and she has excelled into the medical field. read more

They are such a hassle to deal with. No one answers the phones and when they do they hang up on you. This school is an absolute joke! They are way overpriced and the curriculum is not only confusing but very disorganized. The instructors do not teach alike and it is very frustrating. They misplace important documents such as assignments and when you ask what grade you earned, they give you a FAIL because it was misplaced by the instructors. Make sure to get it in writing and notarized that they have to graduate you if you pass with As before you sign up for school. If you get all As in school and go out to externship and someone decides to say you are not doing the best they will send you for review. Even if you do great in review they are not legally obligated to send you back out to finish externship and do not have to graduate you. Get EVERYTHING in writing. I would also suggest you give them your lawyers # before starting school. The medical assistant program is EXPENSIVE $15,000 when at Estrella Mtn College in Goodyear you can take the exact same thing for $4900. read more

I'm a current student and yes there has been a few issues I had, BUT, I did what most of these other students probably did not do (besides complain), I resolved my issues by actually communicating to the staff at the school. No one can help you if you keep quiet and complain to everyone else. True professionalism is one who confronts an issue and can take the proper steps to resolve the issue. I am a Dental Assistant at Arizona College. The instructors here are great. They help you when you have questions, they actually want you to learn. I am happy with all my instructors except Ms Ashley Hobby the director instructor. I fill like Ms hobby wants us to fail. I am afraid to ask her questions. She wont help you when ever we have a questions. I don't only talk for my self I know a lot of us dental assistant students fill this way but we don't say anything because we are afraid of her. Ms Hobby make me fill to quit this school. If it weren't for all the other instructors that are here to help us I would have already quit this school. I believe this problem should get fix. I was calling to ask questions about the school because it was part of a grant I was applying in which I had to get the questions before I decided on a school to go to and someone in admissions answered and was very rude as I asked another question I was in my 3rd question she sounded very annoyed and told me The school was out of my area where I lived obviously I knew this and the Glendale location was the one I was interested in but with the unprofessional responses and attitude to get information during summer is crazy if you ask me. I immediately hung up the phone when she said she didn't have time to answer 10 questions total which were not hard to answer. They should want student to apply not leave. I'm glad I got a little bit of what they offered which is RUDENESS to say the least. So now I will not be applying for this school. When I first gave thought to attending Arizona College, I was frightened at the aspect of trying to reinvent myself. At orientation I quickly realized that my choice was going to be life changing. I was told that many challenges were ahead, but if I worked hard and studied diligently, I could succeed. Never before has one statement been so true. My instructors and my program director gave me all the tools necessary to succeed. Not once did I feel unprepared for exams and finals. I would get to school on those days bursting at the seams, ready to release all that I had retained. On my externship, all the skills I attained in school allowed me to have a seamless transition. I was told to follow my dreams and that's exactly what I've done. I applied myself 100% at this school, I was so excited to become a college student. I am a mother of two, and I spent many nights staying up for hours to make sure I had all of my homework for the week complete. My attendance was perfect, and I was very motivated to succeed at Arizona College. Clearly, I didn't do my research well enough before attending. Since it's accredited, I thought I was making the right decision choosing this school. I was sadly mistaken, and am now in dept THOUSANDS of dollars for attending ONE MONTH and I didn't even complete the three courses I took. Here is why I decided to withdraw: My classmates where hardly ever there for lectures, at one point only me and two other students showed up for class. So they warned us about attendance and told everyone to treat school "as if it where their job", to always "be there and on time". That same exact day our instructor was 20 minutes late (which happened constantly)! Another reason is AZ College claims to give you a hands-on experience, but I stepped foot in the lab only a few times and kept my face in my books the entire term. In fact, our teacher was so uneducated about what she was teaching that the only thing she knew how to do was make us take notes. Whenever anyone asked her a simple question, she either didn't know how to answer it or made them feel stupid for asking. Multiple students got into heated arguments with her, and ended up dropping the classes because they couldn't take it anymore. I wasn't receiving a quality education, I was paying someone to confuse the crap out of me. When I spoke with our program adviser about these concerns, all she said was "I'm sorry". So, I was spending $15,000 to attend this college and they're just "sorry" the classes were being poorly taught. I came home in tears out of the frustration I had with this school! They DO NOT care about you or your potential. They only care about your money! It wasnt until after i was ripped off by this school that i realized the reviews on here were terrible. That's because yelp only displayed one average review, and the rest were hidden because they "weren't recommended". For whatever reason, all of the reviews of this school aren't even visable at all on the mobile app version of Yelp. Are you kidding me? I suppose I learned my lesson. Private schools are a joke, and you can't rely on this website to tell you the truth about these places. All in all, I would rate this college less than one star if I could. I attended this school some time ago, and I wish I could go back and undo the entire decision and do what I'm doing now. Maybe it's a case of life taking you on paths that lead you to better places. The whole closing a door, opening a window idea. In any case, I waited a long time to write this review because I was extremely angry with the way I was treated by this college and its representatives. I started this school full of hope and excitement for my future. I understood that going to a technical school was a gamble-they don't have the greatest track records in providing their students the very thing they pay for, but I wanted something more out of my life and thought I could make it work. I was an exceptional student. A bit older, I was surrounded by a mostly fresh from high school student body. The teachers and various staff, those that were supposed to represent the school as the responsible and knowledgeable adults who impart their own experiences, knowledge, and wisdom onto us, were not much more mature than most of those younger students. Many couldn't be bothered to show up for class. I was there every day. I heard excuse after excuse in regards to absences, tardiness, lack of effort and inability to follow the most basic of rules (like tying hair back, removing jewelry, etc.) And over and over, these same students were told what the rules were and still allowed to get away with whatever they pleased. I wanted to run away in my first four week session, but I stuck it out knowing I was mature and capable and I would not listen to my own intuition. I should have. Time passed, I aced most tests, excelled at most of the class work and lab work. I had my struggles, a person can't be awesome at every thing, but it was stuff I continued to work on. I kept to myself mostly, not wanting to be sidetracked by the silliness that often occurred around me. (For example, girls that were more interested in watching Youtube makeup tutorials than doing class work.) I witnessed the forced removal of a relatively new teacher while I was there. I say forced because she was pretty much chased away by the student body that wanted to goof off rather than learn. I watched as her fellow teachers spoke poorly of her to the student body and worked on their own agenda to have her removed. It's a pity, I learned more from her in one session than I did from the "other" teacher who spent more time telling personal stories about herself (not related to our area of study) than teaching. When I asked about placement for extern sites, that I had a job I needed to work around I was told, "Most people save up so they don't have to work during their extern." How dare they assume my financial situation? This was extern. I was not getting paid, and I was expected to work at it 40 hours a week. The UNWILLINGNESS to work with their students in regards to location and hours in placement is completely unfair. Until we are gainfully employed in what we've attended school for, we still have to pay bills and support families. And I had to battle with the career counselor or whatever she was in regards to my externship because she didn't like me. She was the most unpleasant one in the school that I personally interacted with. In the end it's her that I blame for my fallout and the schools failure to provide for me. What did they care? They got their money, after all. I was sent to an extern site that was horrible. I was witness to disgraceful patient treatment by lead assistants. Office politics interrupted my learning experience. The lead refused to teach me, or allow me to assist, When I began shadowing the non-lead in an attempt to actually do the job I was there to do, that was the beginning of the end for me. I overheard conversations by back and front leads in regards to that other assistant. I hated going into that office every morning. Never have I been in the middle of such hateful and spiteful people. People that are supposed to help others, (and yes, I'm aware a profit needs to be made) but instead, talk about them like they are trash when they leave the operatory, doctors and assistants that push and push to get patients to agree to expensive and unnecessary treatments, and when I voiced some of my concerns to the teacher responsible for the externs, I was told to come into the school where I was railroaded and told I was done by the career counselor while my "teacher" sat there staring at the ground, unable and unwilling to look me in the eye. Why? Because she knew it was a crock of shit. I was told I had to write a letter stating what I would do better or differently to get a second chance. Excuse me? I paid all that money, worked my ass off between school and my job that supported me, got placed poorly for my extern site and you're telling me it's my fault? I wrote my letter and very plainly told them I wouldn't do anything differently. If I were at fault, I would own up to it. I never heard one single word from them after. read more

Once you graduate they misplace, or wait for some guy to open the storage room to retrieve your transcripts. I have been waiting since 7/15 to get transcripts so I can get a state license. Talked to the "director" 9/3 and was told it would go our the following day. As of 9/10 still no transcript. Ridiculous!! Guess AZ board of education is my next step! read more

Went to school for dental had a great experience. Awesome teachers! Learned so much. But externship was horrible didn't learn much at all. The career services advisor I had was horrible. I got my first externship site and it was a 30 minute drive. You do not get to pick a speciality you just go wherever the career services sends you.at the last day of classes before externship almost everyone had their sites except me and few others and it was literally the last day .career services had all this time to locate one but didn't until literally last minute. In the end I do regret going to the school because I did not use my degree i felt pressured to go the school now I am stuck with a 10,000 debt. Think twice before you decide to go there. read more

I really did love it from the start but im tired of feeling very intimidated and stupid. Only reason I feel this way is because of ms.hobby. She puts everyone down in class, I feel so scared to ask her a question cause she makes a face like if youre dumb. She yells if you make a mistake but she does not correct you on it. Unlike many other trade schools who make you take ONE long month course (which is not fun!) this school is a Mon-Fri school from 9-2 courses are 5 weeks long and in that time we have 3 different classes in one day which I LOVE!!!!!! did about 14 months of schooling for heath information technology to get my associates degree. I enjoyed the program and learned so much. I got my moneys worth for a good education. the faculty and students were all awesome. everyone was helpful and very friendly. the teachers were patient and always offered additional tutoring after school too. overall my experience at Arizona College was positive. Attending Arizona College for the massage therapy program and I've had a few hiccups in my path and they have worked with me an are excellent instructors!!!I should've graduated in March 2014,but with life's unexpected path its taken a little longer:) The people there at Arizona College really do care about all their students and want them to succeed at what they want to do.Ms.Munoz is the instructor for Massage Therapy and she is the Best at what she does and how she teaches you,if you don't get it she'll explain or come up with a way so that you will!!!There's also a new teacher Mrs.Lempitsky who started in March and she is also doing Massage Clinic M,W&F and she is very good at showing massage techniques that get you hands on experience and will help you if your having problems with the material. This is an Amazing College and I'll be finishing up my classes by September and on the way to being a Licensed Massage Therapist and doing what I Love,which is helping people relieve, get rid of,or finding the source of their Pain!!!!! read more

I went to Arizona College for the Pharmacy Technician's Certificate. While the courses could be interesting and I had some good teachers, I don't feel that it prepared me for the PTCB test which I believe should be the main goal. Externship was terrible, first I got an overworked pharmacy that just wanted extra help and when I wouldn't go back I almost didn't get to graduate. (I had a 3.8 GPA!) I had to go to a panel board and beg for another externship, it was humiliating. I got placed with another pharmacy where the pharmacist was crazy, she threw a telephone at me, she left the pharmacy unattended, she yelled all the time. I had years of working experience and have never been through anything like that before. The placement advisers at that time did not research where the students were placed at all, I did get a new adviser later that was very good. I also did not get to go to my graduation ceremony, I was told it was because I finished externship a week before but I work with another student now (She was in a different program.) that finished the day before and she was at graduation. The faculty at this college are sweet as pie at first then they get an exorbitant amount of money from you and basically do what they want!!! read more
