On January 09th, 2025, I received a return email stating that yes, they are a preferred provider for both companies. After receiving this email, I called and scheduled an appt. On April 01st I went in for a checkup and a consultation regarding dentures. While we discussed the denture procedure and cost, I asked to make sure they would contact the insurance companies for pre-approval. I stated I didn't want any surprise bills. I was told yes, they would confirm coverage with the insurance carriers. After they said they had contacted the companies I was given an estimate that showed my share of the total cost would be $609. I asked again if they had confirmed coverage with the insurance companies. I was told yes, coverage had been confirmed. I scheduled an appt to have the dentures made. When I went in for the visit, I paid my $609 and once again asked if the insurance companies had verified coverage and this would be all I owed. Once again, I was told coverage had been confirmed. On July 22, 2025 I received a bill (text) from the dental office in the amount of $1,534. I was shocked and worried, so I sent a letter the same day to the office stating questioning the bill. On August 05th, 2025 at 09:33am I received a voice mail that had been left by Terri at Light Dental Studios stating I had nothing to worry about, Dr. Mann was fully satisfied with the amount I had paid. I have continued to receive bills showing I was past due and still owed the $1,534. so I sent a complaint to the Washington state Attorney General's office. I received a letter back from the AG stating: The complaint you submitted to our office regarding Light Dental Studios - Covington was reviewed and determined to be appropriate for the informal complaint resolution (ICR) services offered by our Consumer Resource Center. The response by Light Dental Studios to the AG was full of untruths. Angie Dunn from Light Dental Studios stated that the insurance company (Guardian) denied the claim due to a clause "which excludes replacement of teeth that were missing prior to the policy's effective date". She goes on to say that since Mr. Hutson was a new patient to our office, we had no way of knowing that these teeth were missing before his plan took effect. LIE #1: I want to point out that this is a downright lie. When I was in for my consultation the dentist wanted to know how long I had been wearing my plastic denture. I told him I had been wearing it for seven years. I also related to both him and the nurse that I had my front teeth knocked out when I was in high school just being a young and dumb kid. LIE #2: Ms. Mann further states that "Mr. Hutson did not request that prior authorization be obtained". I not only asked the Dentist, I asked the dental assistant, and also the front desk representative to make sure they had prior approval. In each conversation I was told yes. Due to being threatened about being ninety days past due and worried about a negative remark on my credit history I went ahead and paid the $1,534. I am asking that his amount be refunded asap.

I went over 15 years without going to a dentist due to fear after a bad experience with oral surgery. Last year I broke my tooth and had to go. I called Sunrise because they were the closest. They were busy but I was in pain so they said "just come now". Everyone was so kind and accommodating and they fixed me up right there. Over the next year they got my oral health all back on track after my 15 year break. Yesterday I had the oral surgery that was started 15 years ago finished. I had so much anxiety going into this that I almost canceled a few times. It actually ended up being a good experience. They were quick. They were kind. I experienced no pain and 24 hours later my recovery is going very well. It even cost less than the estimate when I went to pay, because according to the receptionist it was easier than they expected and had quoted. Unfortunately, the doc wasn't there but one of the other dental techs was there. Let's call her K. Unreal. I'm so many ways. If how K operated is any indication of how Dr. C is.....which I know it is because I have had family come here....then this place is a no brainer to go to for dental work. I want to say that I addressed my hesitations regarding dental work....specifically, a contraption called...the Cavitron. For those who don't know, the Cavitron version 1 alpha was designed specifically for inducing unbearable and unimaginable pain for which you will be permanently scared for the rest of your life. So much so...even hearing the word Cavitron takes you back to the seat and reliving the trauma. I told K my experience and she reassured me that the old model is bad, she's going to use the newer model but will do some fine tuning work manually so as not to take me back to a bad place. She was amazing. I had to tell K at the end of my session how masterful she was and also that she provided me with much closure from my past. K spoke highly of the dentist as well as what they do there. Don't believe me? Call and try to make a new patient appointment. I had to wait 6 months.....there is a reason for that. This place is top notch. Rarely does it happen where I have one experience completely dispel my fear as well as define an establishment based on limited exposure. This is that place. I just know it. What a amazing experience. I made my 6 month follow up before leaving and I intend to go. Again, if you want a fantastic experience and a place that knows what they are doing for dental work and are not afraid to go above and beyond to make it a good experience for you....this is the place. That all being said, I can't tell you what a wonderful experience I had here. Wonderful is a stretch as I had a tooth extracted so not too much fun. I know things are a bit different as we are in the COVID times but I entered the building, filled out reasonable paperwork and was taken directly back. Didn't weight long for Dr. Nielsen. She went over all my options, was completely transparent with her treatment plan and cost. She built customer trust right away. Her overall concern seemed to be my overall welfare while in her seat.
