Went for my regular cleaning today. As usual, the waiting room was neat and clean. The staff member at the front desk was friendly and professional and the wait was next to nothing. My dental hygienist, Maria, was very sweet and ensured I was comfortable the entire time. Dr. West was great as usual! He came in, asked if I had any concerns and was professional. I had a second opinion yesterday regarding my gums by Dr. West because my previous dentist did not correct the problem. After properly evaluating my mouth, I was told I would need to have periodontal scaling and root planing on one area of my mouth; whereas my previous dentist did not do any examination of my gums whatsoever. He had only prescribed me a rinse to use, which did nothing. I went in this morning to have this procedure completed by Sanita. She was also as thorough as Dr. West, and both educating me more about my gum health. I highly recommend Dr. West and Sanita to anyone that really wants a dentist to genuinely cares about you and your teeth. My previous dentist obviously did not have the same demeanor in caring for their patients well-being. Did a review just in case the person answering the main phones and emails keeps not wanting to transfer the messages to mgmt-Covering my basis. Your office employee Phifer violated my HIPPA privacy policy by texting me my full SSN and then proceeding to ask me for a copy of my insurance card to be sent to her via email. I called several times to talk to upper mgmt where she proceeded not to transfer me and probably didn't pass on my messages, because of this I made a formal complaint with the government regarding this and this should be addressed with your employee. It's a complete violation of my privacy. I am still flabbergasted by the incident. Cancel my appointment as well. I would never use someone who can send out my personal information in such an insecure manner and give no regard to it at all. I am sure you will be hearing from my lawyer in the future. The place was immaculately clean:) The rest of staff super nice and friendly. My favorite part was my cleaning with amazing hygienist Maria, friendly kind and informative. Last but definitely not least Curtis West DMD the dentist he was Great!!! I went in a little anxious but he was super calm an confident therefore I felt relaxed in his chair, got a filling on my back molar and I have to state he is one of the best in sticking you with the needle to numb you! I NEVER WRITE BAD REVIEWS - but I couldn't get on YELP fast enough to share this experience. Booked an extraction appointment for a tooth that's been bothering me for some years. I explained the emergent need for my appointment and they were able to get me in a morning slot on the 17th of April. Faith and Darlene (front desk) were sweet as pie. They made me feel welcomed and even got me to smile through the pain and discomfort I was in. My appointment was for 930am PST - they called me back promptly at 9:33am PST. Faith did the preliminary exam and x-rays, made me comfortable and stayed with me until Dr. James Dang came in at 10:12am PST. He asked her take another x-ray, determined that against my first opinion on April 1, 2024, my tooth could be saved with a root canal. However, it's not a root canal that he knows how to do and I would need to see a specialist. He also said if he did know how to do the root canal, he wouldn't have time for that any way. I explained that's fine then and explained I would like to proceed with the extraction the appointment was booked for. Which he then stated, he doesn't have time to do that. After tampering around in my mouth and with my infected tooth, taking xrays and such, my pain has skyrocketed and now the dentist is saying he won't do the extraction, or a root canal. He got so upset that I asked him to explain why he doesn't have time to do the extraction when I wasn't a walk in and have an appointment for that very thing. He said verbatim (I was recording and wish I could upload it here somewhere - I WILL figure out how to): We don't go off your opinion and what you say. You book an appointment, I do the evaluation and then determine what will be done. You guys (I was alone, so I'm not sure who he was referring to) put off addressing your tooth pain for 4 years (and it was 6 - not a very good listener) and then all of sudden it's our fault? Again, not sure what underlying issues this dentist has, but he was super unprofessional, uncompassionate, and uninformed. Medical doctors always listen to the patients. Dentist should too. Keep your loved ones away away from Dr. James Dang. This office may be good for cleanings and annual visits (per reviews), but ABSOLUTELY NOT for any real procedures. Long story short - he walked away, didn't write a prescription for amoxicillin or ibuprofen for pain and I'm WORSE than I was when I went in. read more

Had a crown put on here by the dentist. It was giving me trouble from the start. As I was a patient for years I thought that they would see me. I was wrong as they said that they couldn't fit me in and do not know when. I told them that that my glands were swollen and I was in extreme pain. It didn't help. It came to find out that my nerve was damaged by the dentist who put on the crown and it was badly infected. This was a lousy job done by an incompetent dentist. read more

The dentist damaged my nerve on the tooth that a crown was put on. Had problems from start and finally became infected and needed attention but they couldn't fit me in as I was told. I was a patient of this dental practice and should have been able to be seen. This was a true emergency as the infection was spreading to my glands. All I needed was a prescription for antibiotics. The lovely staff at Arise Dental reinstated my hope in fair and honest dental work. Dr. Cameron Smith truly saved my life. I came from another dentist that wanted to charge me almost DOUBLE for an extraction and implant that was causing me horrible ailments. The in-office insurance was so affordable and helpful (not to mention was better than my in-network BCBS insurance) which only adds to the genuinely well-natured fun-loving atmosphere here. I used to HATE going to the dentist, but now I look forward to getting my teeth cleaned by the enigmatic Maria, and checking in/out with one of the lovely ladies (usually Kristen or Kelly) up front who work with me to fill my individual needs. Every dentist I have been to previously has given me bad feelings in my gut, and bad experiences along with it, but not this one. I instantly felt comfortable and well taken care of at Arise Dental. Dr. Gardner worked magic and I felt very safe in his capable hands. I didn't feel it at all as he was numbing my mouth, and he made sure to check on me very often to see if I was doing okay. Best dentist in Phoenix! I just had two old fillings replaced and a crown done, all in one appointment. I was dreading it, but the whole process went so well. Dr. Gardner explained everything he was doing, and made sure it was as painless as possible. He uses the latest technology to ensure a perfect fit on a crown.
