What a hidden gem! They've got loads of stuff for such a tiny place. I swear every time I go, I find something new at a great price. The staff is really nice too. This would be 5-star, but some produce is a bit lacklustre. I've never had a problem finding okay items--I just have to be a bit diligent. I can hardly complain because their prices are about half Safeway's. read more

This is a great market right around the corner from Safeway. Wonderful fresh fruit and produce outside, and a labyrinth of hard-to-find international foods inside. read more

Purchased pomegranate that was fully rotten inside and took ot back next day with receipt. Was told the will no longer accept returns. I told them they just lost a customer and they did not care and were very rude! read more

The best Persian store in metro Vancouver! Organized and neat. friendly staff. Reasonable prices, fresh fruits and veggies. Authentic foods. Persian, Turkish, Mexican, Arabic, and Indian stuff. read more

WARNING: I have historically enjoyed the selection of produce at this market, but they have consistently tried to overcharge me for produce - either the prices are not labeled, mislabeled, or even worse, accurately labeled and I'm still charged the wrong price at the register! Unfortunately, after my last (and worst) experience here, neither me nor my family will ever return. The rude and demeaning individual at the cash register refused to recognize the price of the produce I brought to the register. He insisted I pay a higher price that was not accurate, and even after showing him the price outside, he claimed I was lying about which produce I had picked up. That was the last straw for me. I strongly encourage paying close attention to the price before you pay, otherwise you may be paying a hidden premium! read more

I only buy my veggies here. I pack the fridge without hurting the wallet. Gooood quality and the price is unbeatable. 30$ to 40$ fills my fridge with A LOT OF veggies and fruits and and and ... for at least 2 weeks. I love this place. read more

If you are looking for cheap, good produce in the West End. This is your place! I have no idea where they get their stuff from but the produce is generally of good quality and you cannot beat the prices. All winter they have been selling pomegranates for 1.29$!!! That's less than half the price of most stores! They have fresh herbs in the summer and amazing middle eastern fare (spices, bread, canned goods) inside. Plenty of sheep's cheese and amazing flat breads. I still get some organics at Capers, but otherwise this is my one stop shop for produce. read more

Thank goodness for Aria in the West End! Possibly the only place downtown where fresh produce can actually be considered "cheap" at times. Mind you they don't always carry everything at the lowest prices, but it is generally the case for most of the produce here. Being a Safeway shopper, I would normally start there with meat and other products but I always save the fruits and veges for Aria! Any West End-er can tell you that they are, or at least have been a customer once or twice here at Aria. The only people I know who do not frequent this place are the "organic-only" individuals. The owners and staff are mostly very kind and helpful. They will honour any price they show, and rarely argue about misread prices (this is from personal experience!). Although sometimes certain staff may charge you by the wrong price per lb (also from personal experience!), so just keep an eye out on the scale! 30 Days of Yelp - 1/30 read more

I saw Aria from across the street for the first time today and was drawn to the abundant produce shelves outside the store. They really do have good prices for produce and the grocery items, many Turkish and Iranian, aren't expensive either. The white mushrooms are 50 cents cheaper per pound than any place I know of west of Commercial Drive. A big bonus is that I found my recently discovered and fantastic Arvand yoghurt in the more- fat version of 6% MF. Arvand is so smooth, creamy, pure and mild and will taste great with fruit when our BC strawberries arrive at last. And nothing at Aria that should be firm gets soft and mouldy (speaking strictly of produce,eh) here like it does at one of the stores in this area across from Choices. The family is obviously monitoring the displays constantly. The mini dried figs on the counter were tempting. read more

I sure hope this is the market I popped into today....because they deserve 5 stars!! Walking by, on my way to english bay, I saw beautiful, plump plums for .99$ I made a mental note to return after paddleboarding. So I returned and got my plums, a large mango, and marveled at how fresh and gorgeous their tomatoes and peppers were. The price point beats big chain grocers. I grabbed some produce and went inside their mini convenience/grocery store. Lots of ethnic food. Large bags of herbs/spices, and a huge variety, too. They also have loads of different styles of turkish delight. AND I saw a 2.5 foot package of naan bread! I grabbed a box of turkish delight, some of their different asian candies and such. Quality buys. Great price. read more

You can get international products here, something you cannot do in 99% of grocery stores, at least in this area. The dried fruits and nuts are really good. On top of that, the prices they offer here are much more fair than a bigger-name place, so it is a place you would want to shop for your groceries if it's in your area. read more

too expensive. More expensive than other Persian stores. Even these days that govenment pay 3/4 of their rent and 75% if the workers salary. covid 19 was a gold rush for many small business like these guys. Even with the help of govenment, instead bringing their prices a little down, they did oposit way. read more

I always get my produce here. Best quality and lowest price always. Pretty good for getting your spices too. Wish they carried fresh thyme and rosemary though. :P read more

We were driving through the neighborhood late on a Sunday night. We were going to go to Safeway thinking it would be the only thing open. While looking for parking we past this little shop. We decided to check it out as all we needed was a little fresh fruit. We ended up leaving with some of the best walnuts I have had in years, super fragrant mint (it made me take it home) and of course some cheap fresh fruit. We also noticed an nice array of other middle eastern specialty items. If I lived in this neighborhood I would be a regular. read more

Sometimes we'd walk a couple more blocks just to shop here. Great prices for produce! I simply adore local grocery stores like Aria, feels homely and familiar. read more

I go to this store occasionally for the ethnic foods that are hard to find elsewhere and their fresh produce is good. However, I was significantly overcharged two days ago. I did not realise until I arrived home and checked my receipt. I went straight back and complained. The same lady quietly re-did my bill and paid me back. It was very obvious that she had deliberately cheated me. She had put extra items on the bill that I had not bought and this could not have been done by mistake. By all means go to this store but be very careful! Anne, Vancouver read more

I was so happy to find Aria after being completely disgusted by the choice of grocery shops in the area (Safeway, Whole Food and No Frills). The produce is fresh, and much less expensive than the chains. They also have a pretty descent selection of Persian items for sale (Sour cherry juice? Yummy) and other ingredients you can't get at the mainstream shops. I'm also always happy to support the small business owners when I can, but the fact that I have never had a bad experience here and am always finding something new to try keeps me coming back. read more

Good choice for fruits and vegetables. Great price compare to Safeway . Nice choice of Persian specialities . The only and important negative point : no price label !! You need to ask the price for most of the products. So, globally , not bad for fruit and Persian products . read more

One of the many places that I shop when in the area. In the summertime they do have a very decent price for local berries. $2.99 or less per lb on blueberries is a very very good deal, especially this year when our blueberry crops were amazing. Decent service, mostly self serve. read more

Great Iranian products. Spice, cheeses reasonable prices.
