One of my favorite spots in the area. I like patronizing the mom & pop shops to support local business. They have the best Taylor Ham Egg & Cheese sandwich, very good soups, the salads are huge, and the coffee is always fresh/hot. I'm a regular for lunch because the sandwiches, wraps, etc. are all top notch. If you like soup their homemade soups are great. Especially the lentil and mushroom barley are Unequaled. They catered my baby naming, and although it was a Sunday and they usually are not open, Stu, the owner, personally delivered the food early Sunday morning! Second time stopping here, 1st time for a simple Pork Roll and Cheese sandwich. Great roll, perfect sandwich. 2nd time stopping for lunch and had one of the Special sandwiches, the "Crossing Delancey". Fantastic! We just used Argyle for the Kiddish Luncheon after my son's Bar Mitzvah. When I originally called, I was completely overwhelmed since this luncheon was one of four parties we were hosting (including a 200-person event the next day). The owners, Stuart & Emily Garber, are absolutely delightful to work with. They were detailed and understood that I was going to hurl a million questions their way and it couldn't have gone any smoother. The food was plentiful, delicious, and set up and breakdown was flawless. Stopped by for lunch before heading to nearby South Mountain Reservation park and was glad we did. All ordering is by phone and they bring your order out to your car. There are about 2-3 tables set up in the parking lot if you want to eat onsite. I ordered the Cali Grille (Sliced Tomato, Avocado, Low Fat Alpine Lace Swiss Cheese & Lite Dijon Spread on Grilled Whole Wheat, Served Open Faced) which was On The Lighter Side section of the menu. I really liked the sandwich and found it to be filling. The flavors were great and although simple, it wasn't something I would have thought to put together. I love everything about Argyle the food is excellent. They have a great delivery service within 20 minutes to a half hour. My food is hot and delivered to my door I normally ordered my breakfast from them and I have the same breakfast all the time so when I call and give my name, they know exactly what I want. Not too many establishments when I say no this. Their catering is second to none. Argyle's If I was reading it, we get 100%. Just had a crazy week at the hospital with our little one. Wife needed something better than hospital food so I ordered a few specials here and was pleasantly surprised. I usually don't like diner style menus because they are so long and I feel one restaurant can possibly be good at so many different items. But it's really classic style deli stuff here and breakfast. How many ways you can make an omelette can be 8 menu items for example. The specials changing everyday is what caught my attention. They use certain ingredients on certain days? Do they have food in season? Is this a REAL family owned place for once? The food sure tasted like it! Great chicken, seasonings, and man what a burger! Will be coming here all week until we're discharged from the hospital! I'm not sure if the place is a consistent or if they knocked it out of the park one day lol. I really enjoy this restaurant I order at least 3 days a week through Grubhub. The have the best chicken Caesar and chicken Cobb salad. Today I ordered a garden salad with kalamata olives, all I got was lettuce and olives , no carrots, cucumbers, or carrots. Love the décor: country, rustic, old-school. Plenty of parking in rear. Lovely tables to eat at outside deli. Ordered tuna salad on whole wheat wrap: lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. I was given a number on a stand to put at my choice of table and to have the food brought to me. Sweet. Made my own hot tea (choices available) just the way I like it : light and sweet. No problem. Sandwich came out and I dug in. Tasted fresh and wholesome. Nice little crisp on the end of the wrap. Filling. Glad I opted out of the extra fat/calories/cost from a side of chips. Nice experience. The cashier came and asked me how my meal was, so I gave him a thumbs up 'cuz my mouth was full - LOL. I would definitely stop in again next time in the neighborhood ! read more

Its the best. I have been in the kitchen since I was a little kid, cooking my own meals was a necessity as my mother believed that if it didn't catch fire, it was not done. I tried one of their specials which is one of my favorite to cook. It took a little while to get here but I guess I never need to cook lasagna again. It was a super hit and very delicious. My favorite item on their menu is their minestrone soup, unfortunately they rarely make it these days. Their menu doesn't always write down all the ingredients used. Their "veggie" cauliflower rice had chicken in it. Chicken was not listed in there. As a vegetarian, this was disappointing because I was really hungry and wasn't able to eat it. Here are my impressions. - High prices - Bland ingredients - Badly-made sandwiches - Service with a Scowl - Slow Preparation - Yuppie Atmosphere - "Market" section with limited selection at significant mark-up But this part is my pet peeve: - In violation of their vendor agreement, they charge a $10.00 minimum if you want to pay with a credit or debit card. Disappointed. Waited a very long time for two salads. When finally finished, the salad maker puts them on top of the counter. I asked for a bag as holding two plastic containers filled with salad out the door is an invitation to drop and have an accident. This seemed like a reasonable request. He takes the salads all the way up to the front (I had to go to the front earlier to pay) and they sit on the counter while the older counter guy gabbed with another customer. Finally, he takes care of me while my salads were waiting, and I asked that they be put in a bag. His answer" What do you think I am going to do? I have been working here XXX number of years". Rude. After waiting so long for the salads to be prepared, and simply asking for a bag, I wasn't prepared for such a rude response. Also, it is expensive. Will not be going back. read more
