Now my mother brought me up not to be greedy - but markets have an effect on me, especially plant stalls, silver, faric and leather goods. There is every thing from bongs to veggies, bags to embridery threads, arts and crafts, gosh probably a beer stall too. Most of the vendors are very friendly - I always find plant sellers are on my planet! Some are a little indifferent but at least that's not going to ruin the fun. You don't need to leave lots of dosh behind, browsing is fun. And theres a couple of good pubs just nearby!

However it seems in recent years the turnover of shops has been quite high with shops often opening and closing and being replaced with other shops quite quickly That said its often interesting to see what shop next fills the gaps. The market contains a wide range of goods and the stall holders are always friendly and can answer my questions. There is a stall selling all types of material, the music one, one selling smoking implements and lots more. I enjoy looking round the music exchange one becaus you never know what to expect!

We were surprised to learn that the shopping centre closes at 6pm every day - no late night shopping fans in this sleepy town on the river bliss. A town with a heck of a lot of old folks shuffling around. The town was recorded in the 1086 Domesday Book when it was called the village of Straburg, and it was recorded as having 24 households, well endowed with land, particularly arable ploughlands, and rendering 8 pounds sterling to its feudal lord a year - hundreds of years before the arrival of employers and employees

There are loads of clothes shops like New Look and Peacocks which do great clothes at great prices!! There is a Marks & Spencer food hall, as well as a fantastic fruit and vegetable store where you can get all your fresh groceries. There is also a cute sweet shop which sells all your old favourites. It's a bit of a warren but easy to navigate and its exits lead out to different parts of Trowbridge town centre. Asda is connected where there is a car park as well.

It's a veritable treasure-trove of items, and of course the prices are all really inexpensive, so many bargains to be had. I think last time I went in I came out with: flowerpots for potting out my seedlings, a birthday card, soft drinks, some make-up, a chopping board, and some cat food. And I only went in to get a body spray, which I forgot about!! It's the sort of place where you always find something you want, even if you didn't know you wanted it before you went in. Over a year ago I bought one of Wilkinson's canvas shoppers, the sort that fold up and slip in your handbag. It was only 45p, a vast saving on many supermarket's similar ones, and it's still sturdy and good as new despite being used nearly every day!

Still, everything is great for the price and it normally has everything I need and more This store contains a large amount of goods including home furnishings, toiletries, gardening goods, stationary and sweets/chocolates. There is often an area near the front of the store (castle place end) which have reduced items with somtimes 75% off which means its sometimes possible to get great bargains at great prices. Parking is close by so its easy to get what you have bought to the car.

Mainly selling greetings cards (a wide range for every occasion) on the ground floor, as well as mugs and occasion gifts such as wedding presents, christening gifts etc. If you venture upstairs there are several cute little rooms leading off from a main corridor full of lovely gift ideas they also sell some items for your pets and do a great childrens range too. The final room is full of amazing prints and frames that you can browse through.

I have a watch that I bought in America, and every other local jewellers could not remove the back of the watch in order to replace the battery - he did it in seconds, with no marks on the watch at all! His prices are reasonable too. I've not used the jewellery repair or manufacturing side of the business, but he knows his stuff (unlike a lot of the chain jewellers).

This shop sells good condition second hand DVDs and games at a very fair price with great selection. They also sell new products but I mostly buy second hand due to the bargains that can be grabbed. I absolutely recommend this store to anyone.

It's smaller than the other two, but also quieter, so it's much more pleasant to use. I have never had to que behind more than one other person, and am always able to find exactly what I want (whereas in Tesco they seem to like moving things every few weeks!) on the wide, well lit aisles (unlike Asdas overcrowded, cramped layout). There is always plenty of parking and it's really easy to nip through to town if there is any other shopping I need to do as well as groceries. Staff are helpful and cheerful, something Asda never manages, and the clothing range, though small, is an added bonus. Am looking forward to when they open the cafe and menswear section currently under construction.
