Many show up early and start the line that winds around the building so be ready for that. Rain, shine or snow! Haven't ordered any food here through all the concerts we've been to but have purchased a few cocktails and beers and the prices are reasonable for a venue like this. Cheaper than an arena that's for sure! The lights and sometimes the pyro that is allowed here is top notch. Mixed with the sound that rocks your chest (depending on the band of course), you get your money's worth. All of the ones we've been too have "gone over the specified time". Whatever that means, we're enjoying it. Whether it's the FIlmore's doing or the band's doing by feeding off of the crowd's energy, we'll always stick around longer!

I had a Watermelon Lemonade Riffresher, chicken tenders and fries. It was an excellent venue for us to hear from author Kamala Harris to talk about her new book, 107 Days. She was delivering a message on her short road to the presidential campaign and the state of affairs today that have many U. S. Citizens feeling emotionally hijacked....but I digress. This was a great opportunity to experience in such a beautiful venue. It truly reminded me of a more intimate Fox Theatre.

Once phone was secured you received a printout with seat location. I purchased merchandise(t-shirts and a hat) as there was hardly anyone in line. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Since unable to eat before the show grabbed a slice of Little Caesars pepperoni pizza, a popcorn and a bottle of water. Of course it's marked up! Venue is cashless. Ushered to my seat and it's such a beautiful venue I spent time marveling at the theatre and architecture. There's really not a bad seat in the house. Only issue is in the main floor people stand up which blocks the view of those sitting. Some aren't physically able to stand for long periods of time and I think that contributed to me not going there. The acoustics are great, but this was a live band there was a sound issue with the opening act and again near the end of the show. You couldn't make out the words for the opening act and then everything went out during the main set. Artist Jill Scott thanked us for our patience and kept the show going. All in all it was nice not to see people recording and taking pictures. I'm sure that helps the artist stay focused and it showed we can live without our phone's! I enjoyed the concert but next time will sit in the Mezzanine to have a full view of the stage.

Like a lot of people said in the previous reviews this was known as the kids from the suburbs Rite of Passage to Detroit. They had a bad reputation for a lot of skinheads and a lot of people getting hurt in the mosh pit not to mention all the cars stolen that were broken into during the course of time it has been opened. So if you come here make sure you know where you're going... you don't want to look like you're lost when you're here. It has been under construction for years tearing up the carpet installing new plumbing and trying to make everything back to normal I believe at one point they had to file chapter 7 and it was taken over by different owner but if you still check the website today they are still doing their hardcore heavy metal rock bands and tickets start around twenty bucks. So if you have a heart and the liking for heavy metal definitely check their website out and see if they have your favorite band playing. I've even heard at one point Snoop Dogg Tupac and Outkast have even played at this location this definitely is a historical marker in Detroit that is came along way. It has that charming, welcoming dive bar energy that feels relaxed, unfussy, and immediately easy to like. The staff was friendly and fun, which set the tone nicely from the start, and the music was great all around. It is the kind of place that feels lively without trying too hard, which is very much in its favour. One of the coolest surprises was the speakeasy tucked away almost in plain sight. It can be rented for private events, and it is much larger and more finished than you might expect, with a really nice atmosphere that makes it feel special without losing the bar's overall charm. They also have a great outdoor area with a large TV display, which adds even more appeal if you want to linger a while. And then, of course, there was the happy hour deal: $8 for a shot and a Surfside, which had us at hello and frankly required very little convincing.
