Highly recommend this school to train for BJJ. Took three different classes thus far with different instructors and all were kind and welcoming to a new student. All the students in fact were very welcoming and encouraging. They have a 3 class trail period so I suggest you utilize that to see if it's for you. The gym is clean and orderly with plenty of seating to spectators. Many class options for adults and youth. read more

Ares BJJ Roseville where do I start? This is not just a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu GYM, this is a family. The owner, the trainers, the parents who attend are second to none! My sons and I look forward to going here every week. It's like going to hang out at a family members house. At the same time they're the most professional well-trained athletes that I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. In addition to all of that, they love our children as if they were their own. I highly recommend giving this place an opportunity everyone shops around and that's OK but give them a chance I guarantee you will not regret it. read more

Ares is an awesome, friendly, legit gym to visit and train at. Not only is the gym clean and professional looking, but the coaches and team are welcoming. I know people that cross train there and I recently visited. Purely from the jiu-jitsu side, everyone I rolled with had a good game and were open to different styles. From the business side I've only heard nothing but good things and my experience back up everything i had heard. I will definitely visit again anytime I'm in the area and recommend anyone traveling or living even remotely close to reach out to them. read more

Visited all bjj schools before joining. Every bjj school in Roseville area is great but Ares Bjj stood out. Experienced professors who care about each student, pand plenty of higher belts during every class that are very friendly and help you progress. Very clean area, two showers, big mat. This school is a great choice if you want to learn bjj for competition, self defense, or just to get and stay in shape. read more

I was hesitant to start BJJ because I didn't want to slow down other experienced students, but the environment here encourages learning and growth. The head instructors, Queixinho Moizinho and Samir Chantre, are incredibly humble black belts. All of the instructors take the time to work with you personally in order to master techniques. There is a great foundation of support and community here, and I highly recommend Ares BJJ Roseville to anyone looking for self-defense training, a great workout, or a hobby for the family. read more

I have family in Roseville and this past Thanksgiving holiday I brought my gi and looked for a place to train to offset the turkey and shenanigans from Thanksgiving. I was so stoked to have found Ares BJJ. As a visitor, it's always a bit of an unknown going somewhere new to train. The guys at Ares were super friendly and welcoming, they invited me in to train as one of their own and I had a great time! The gym is huge, clean and overall very nice. The people, both instructors and students were awesome, and the range of people training was also something you just don't find in most gyms. I'm stoked to call Ares BJJ Roseville my BJJ home-away-from-home, and looking forward to the next time I'm up in Roseville so that I can come by and train with them again. BJJ in general is an incredible sport, I highly recommend giving it a try, and if you're in the Roseville area, you have to check out Ares BJJ, top notch!!! read more

Love Ares Jiu- Jitsu! My 4 year old, rough and tumble boy needed an outlet to be himself but needed the discipline that Martial arts brings. He was bored with Gymnastics, bouncing off the walls at home and needed something more. He has been here for a year now and it has been the best thing for him. The instructors are amazing. When he started hitting at home they checked in with him at each class and let him know that behavior was not acceptable. They helped him control his behavior and encouraged him to use that aggression on the mat in an appropriate way. We love the environment here. My daughter started wrestling but there were hardly any girls in class so switching her to Ares was so helpful in giving her that physical contact with lots of girls her age as well. We love the friends and the community here. It is a very family friendly place as my husband trains and takes the kids to his class and all the kids waiting for their parents play together. read more

Ares Bjj in Rocklin is great. The facility is nice and both students and instructors are kind, friendly and welcoming. Instructors are exceptionally knowledgeable and patient. I have no background in martial arts or wrestling, and although I may learn the content at a much slower pace, the instructors are extremely patient with me. Thank you Manny and Dorothy, the dynamic duo. read more

I dropped into Ares BJJ Rocklin for one class while on a business trip to Roseville. I spoke with Ben on the phone and he was helpful and accommodating. When I got to the 6am class, taught by one of their purple belts named John, I was greeted by a friendly and hard-working group of guys. The class was no-nonsense, fast-paced and informative. They pack a surprising amount of content into a one hour class, and I'm taking a few new things back to my home gym to try out! I'll definitely be returning the next time I'm in the area. My one critique is that my first phone message wasn't returned, but that could have been an oversight and did not diminish my experience. Check out Ares BJJ when you're in the Rocklin area. read more

Let's just say.. If there was any parent(s) seeking for a program that would help their child(ren)'s personal development as an athlete and/or for personal enrichment for growth, Ares BJJ Rocklin is the home to like-minded and forward thinking practitioners who help individuals at any and all skill levels to developed and cultivate their inner skills as a way to master their technique in the way of their movements in Jiu Jitsu. Thus lifting their overall game in Jiu Jitsu. Seeing your child's growth as a student of Ares, may result in you thinking about joining. I have seen all 3 of my children excel in ways that are specific only to their individual goals. One does it to feel connected, the other likes the physical challenges, and the other likes the mind challenges that these expert BJJ teachers help them tap into. If you are the least bit curious, I know that Ares offers a 2 weeks FREE TRIAL and you don't need a uniform as one will be provided to you during your trial period. Then, if you find BJJ is the right fit for you and/or family, then you can purchase your gi. TIP: They do offer gi uniforms on-site and Ares logo t-shirts and apparel on for sale. Or you can try looking online for one that fits your specifications and needs. Just be sure to ask/check the size of your loaner gi before purchasing online, as the sizes may likely be similar to what you'll be shipped. Overall, if you truly work hard at your game and learn to be comfortable with being put in uncomfortable situations, then your mental as well as your physical toughness will both be improved. This type of martial arts is distinctly unique in this way that you can advance in belts titles when you reach a certain level of mastery. It's truly a hard-earned recognition and only you and your teacher knows what it took for you to achieve this. Being part of this community at Ares BJJ Rocklin, I've felt nothing but support from people I've had interactions with. You will see people of all age groups attend, but that has nothing to do with their level of skill. If you got to the end of one of my long reviews, then you're maybe interested in it. What are you waiting for? Decide today what tomorrow will look like for you. Thanks for taking the time to read my point of view. read more

Been going to Ares for a few times now, and it has been a great experience so far! Everyone has been nice and inviting. The instructors and teammates here are talented and knowledgeable, and they take their time to make sure a white belt like me is doing things correctly. I am a current student there and I have been training for five months now and it has been the best five months of my life! All of the trainers there are so nice and they explain things very well. I was very nervous on my first day and I have seen other kids on there first day as well but they really take time with beginners so they feel more comfortable. The other good thing is that anyone could do it! One last thing! All the classes are in great times in the day! It isn't to late or too early unless you go to the 6am class! read more

The biggest anxiety I had when moving was finding a new BJJ gym to join. I spent a good month gym hopping and looking for a place to train at. Immediately, Ares BJJ Roseville gave the impression of being a family. I didn't feel the anxiety I usually got when I step into a new gym. Professors and everyone else welcomed you without judgment; in addition, there is such a strong female presence in this gym. WHICH IS AWESOME! Kick-A women that push other females to their full potential. If you want the environment of being welcomed instantly, but at the same time being surrounded by individuals who push you (both genders), this is a great place to get both. read more

In my experience, you never know what you may get walking in to a different BJJ gym. I was visiting from out of town and was suggested to go to Ares BJJ. I was greeted with a warm welcome by a student and told to jump into a class that had just started. I was introduced to Manny (instructor) who was very humble and personable. Manny's admirable characteristics could be seen in his students too. Each person I rolled with was conscience, controlled and respectful. I wish I had more time that week to attend class. I experienced the teaching of good techniques and good people. I expected to pay a mat fee but was told not to worry about it. I was given a gym t-shirt and asked to come back again when in town. Gyms like this are a gem. I recommend checking it out. read more

I was in town from the Bay Area on business and stopped in for a no-gi class. It could not have been a better experience. The instructors were super nice, and everybody I rolled with was super cool, even as they kicked my white-belt ass all over the mat. The instruction also seemed really applicable to the whole class - me as a novice white belt, and the darker belts. The facility was also nice and clean. I give them a very high recommendation. read more

Ares BJJ - Class Schedule - Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Near Me - Roseville, California

I stared training at Ares BJJ 3 years ago and it's been an amazing experience. I started off going to the 6am gi/ no-gi classes and also attended the no-gi classes on Tuesday evenings. The instructors are all top notch and take their time to go over everything so you don't miss anything. After my twins were born I could only attend the open mats on Sunday mornings. The open mats are awesome and the amount of knowledge I was able to get from not just the instructors but also fellow students was invaluable and helped my game immensely. I'm super bummed I'll no longer be able to attend as I have moved out of the area but I would recommend this place to anyone in the Roseville/Rocklin/Lincoln area. read more

6 mo. ago, I signed my 3 children up for bjj classes. Each of their journeys are unique. They all want something different out of the experience and as each of them progresses in their skill and knowledge, I am still taken back by the fact that they are now part of a group, a community, a network of inspiring individuals who we admire and value for their work and determination. Watching each of them celebrate one another and have pride in their work are great accomplishments for them and their futures and it makes their journey that much more special to them. I can say with confidence that joining was one of the best decisions we've made as a family. I've always left it up to my kids to decide if this is right for them. All 3, still til this day, are proud to be part of a dynamic group. We are so grateful for the instructors for their guidance. It hasen't been easy, but their resillience has become a trait that carries over to others around them. We (My daughter and I) even went to an event held in SF, CA. called "Girls In Gis" . It was an event held for girls, women, who often don't get the opportunities to roll with one another. Allowing them to learn from seasoned practitioners and tailored just for women, it provided them the ability to train with other females and learn from one another. Being a part of this event was so special and the encouragement from others who understand the struggles brings us closer and ultimately connects us in a spiritual way. Don't get me wrong..Girls In Gis are BadA$$ and I have a new appreciation for the craft. How do they make it look so easy?!?! #bjjmom #girlsingis #cipkids read more
