Before they even showed up they quoted us a complete removal of carpets for the two rooms for over $3K. We decided NO to the whole redo. After they came & assessed what we needed & wanted, they verbally quoted the price & made us sign on their IPAD without showing us the quote. I had to ask them for the written quote which finally arrived after over 2 hours. Big surprise the quote was $500 more. Also they never told us that they'd charge us $150 for an emergency call. No wonder they were so happy to come quickly. We would have gladly paid had we not felt we were taken for a ride. We had another company do the same work early this year at a fraction of the cost. So I know what to do next time.

Before moving in, we renovated and redid the fireplace inside and while all the construction was going on we discovered a leak in the chimney! Turned out we needed a new chimney cap and some other repairs. After all that and the chilly weather we have been having, I had John book us an inspection and sweep. I didn't want to take any chances with the new house! We scheduled a level II inspection and sweep. There was a wait to get an appointment- but today they were 10 minutes early and took about 40 minutes for the two men to check and clean our chimney. They said it was one of the cleanest they had ever seen! I'm sure the new cap helped- but also they believe the chimney was barely used. The gentleman (Michael) who came into the house was very professional- he removed his shoes, made sure to lay down a drop cloth and even covered the front of the fireplace to keep any soot to a minimum. Our report is very thorough- everything is to code and in good condition. And I currently have a fire blazing even though it's not too chilly out! Had I known the leak was not so much the roof- but a chimney problem, I probably would have had a quote from this company!

An alternative is to open up the wall, cut the pipes and replace the entire box, valves and all. With a new washer on the way, there was no time for that. My outside hose bib busted this last winter and DTP was the only company that could come out the…read morenext day. They told me his charge time ($135hr) started from when he left his last appt until he leaves mine and he would call when he left. He called at 0950 and arrived at 1005 (15 min). It was a simple remedy to remove one and install another. My cameras observed repairman walking very slowly, back and forth 4 different times and spending up to 7 minutes at his vehicle each time. What could he possibly need to go back and forth 4 times for and spend so much time at his service truck?? Not to mention the time spent at the faucet in question. He finished at around 1115 and my bill was $52.96 for parts and $270 for labor!! The invoice showed he left his previous job at 0934 and finished mine at 1135. A 30 minute job that he stretched out with driving time to 2 billable hours!! Whew Look Out! I am disabled and certainly did not need the confrontation or anxiety to argue over his work and billable time.

I am giving this company two stars because, although we had a good experience with them at another…read morehome, the mold returned within two months of the remediation at this property. The underlying cause of the mold was never properly investigated. The company performed the mold testing and remediation but did not identify the source of the moisture or determine why the mold developed in the first place. They later claimed that I told them not to inspect the HVAC system because it was new. That is incorrect. I simply stated that the HVAC system was new; I never told them not to inspect it. The HVAC system was ultimately not the cause of the problem anyway. What disappointed me most was how the company responded when the mold returned. Rather than offering to reinspect the property, correct the problem, or provide a refund, they placed the blame on me. I gave them an opportunity to resolve the situation, but they only stated that the product they sprayed must have worked because otherwise the mold problem would have been worse. I also later learned that Florida generally prohibits the same company from performing both a mold assessment and mold remediation on the same property within a 12-month period when the work falls under Florida's mold-licensing laws. This company performed both the testing and the remediation. Overall, the mold returned very quickly, the root cause was never identified, and the company made no meaningful effort to correct the problem. Because of the cost of the failed remediation and the company's unwillingness to resolve my concerns, I am now considering my legal options and do not recommend this company.
